We both ended up getting the chicken parm dinner, and the portions were massive -- two hefty, freshly panko breaded chicken breasts with a generous serving of pasta. The tomato sauce was good. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely better than most others I've tried in the area. I'm pretty sure they use their pizza dough to make the fresh garlic bread, and that made it awesome. Stopped here for lunch on our way back from Syracuse NY. A small chain of 4 locations, this one is in Vestal NY. Very nice place. Service (from Jeff) was excellent. The food was also excellent. The place offers a lot of seating. I had the Italian Steak Melt. Fantastic. They also had Guinness on draft. My wife had Harvest Salad with grilled Chicken. She said it was very good. After having an unpleasant experience at Tully's, we decided to try this restaurant on our second night in the area. We are glad we did. Our server, Micaela, made up for the horrible service we had at Tully's. She was the best server that we had in a long time. She was very personable and attentive. We ordered the buffalo wings, stone fired wings, pepperoni pizza, grilled blackened salmon, and chicken Milanese. Everything was delicious. The chicken Milanese came with 2 huge chicken breasts under a delicious salad. I was able to take home one of the chicken breasts and made chicken parm the next night. read more

We wanted an easy, no fuss, casual place for our Easter meal. Having not been to Copper Top for a few years, but remembering it fondly, we went. We used the "wait time" notice on their website, and knew we'd be seated quickly. We were. Hostess, server, and even the manager were all cordial and helpful. Our meals, picked from the extensive menu, were served promptly, hot, and delicious. Our server made sure we had no wishes unfulfilled. The noise level was moderate and pleasant, which can be hard to find sometimes. The prices are very reasonable, and you'll definitely find the right food and beverage for your tastes. We were warned, but got an appetizer anyway, which was tasty, and ended up taking most of our meals back to the hotel room. Donated them to the starving Undergrauate fund for our son's dorm. The plaza has changed a lot since Mario's, Kent Drug store and Grand Union, but Copper Top is one change I am glad about! Driving through NY, we stopped based on solid Yelp reviews. Honestly the food quality is a 3 but the service was fantastic, especially our server Jake, so 4 stars. The tavern is located in a plaza with its cousin Tullys (same owner). Plenty of parking and the building is mobility accessible - no lumpy thresholds or steps - but heavy doors to pull open. Gender-specific bathrooms are located off the reception/hostess area and they were clean. We were greeted and seated politely and immediately, told the name of our server, and provided menus with the dinner specials. Jake introduced himself mere moments later and took our drink order. When drinks arrived we ordered the avocado egg rolls. They were hot, creamy with small chunks of avocado, and delicious! Jake got our dinner order and checked back to make sure we liked the appetizer. Timing of our dinners coming out was perfect - not too long and not too quickly after the appetizers. On Jake's recommendation, hubby had the fish & chips with malt vinegar (rather than the steak dinner). The chips were great - hot & crispy - but according to hubby, the breading on the fish tasted like gorton's frozen fish fillets. My salad looked very bland - just lettuce and steak, no sign of tomatoes, cucumbers - see picture. I asked Jake if the dressing was already on it and he said yes. He had warned me the steak is very thin and could not be "rare" as I had requested, and it was definitely not rare but was still tender and flavorful. As I ate the salad I noticed a lot of cream or white sauce in the lettuce underneath the top layer. Jake checked on us and I asked about the sauce. Jake said they put a layer of blue cheese dressing on the plate before adding the salad. He apologized and said he should have told me. I told him it was okay, as it was at first, but the more I ate, the more blue cheese dressing I found. It was gross! The lettuce, few cucumbers & tomatoes were covered in blue cheese dressing (see picture). I looked up the menu and the description of the salad only mentioned balsamic vinaigrette and "bleu cheese crumbles" on top of the salad. When Jake checked back to see if we wanted dessert I showed him my plate, I left a lot of the veggies due to the copious amounts of blue cheese dressing and recommended to him that they could to add it to the menu or warn people! He apologized again and brought a survey card for me to fill out about our experience. I would have ordered something different or asked them to hold the BC dressing - I really could not taste the balsamic. Very nice people working here but we would not go out of our way to stop back. read more

Ordered the cuban roast pork dip, pepperoni pizza, and chicken caesar. Portions in general are quite generous so the value is definitely there. The cuban roast pork dip is a must order! Pepperoni pizza is average, and the chicken caesar is a good portion, but quality of the lettuce could be hit or miss. First time going in, Callie took my order at the bar. She was friendly and offered water while I waited. Second time around, ordered via phone, and the food took 2-3x longer than quoted. Staff had to keep checking to see the status of the order when they kept saying it was "almost ready". All in all, a great spot for sure! I had a very difficult time finding somewhere that could accommodate a group of 20 people on a Sunday. CopperTop told me "no problem! just call us about 30 min ahead". I am so very impressed with CopperTop. We were seated quickly and the service was everything you could ask for. The menu has so many great options that I had a hard time choosing! They have options for vegetarian and gluten sensitive also. None of the ciliacs got sick, meaning this place understands cross-contamination and were careful. The food here is very good but yesterday there was hair in one of our dishes. They happily replace the dish, but of course, by the time it came out, everyone else at the table was finished eating and I was very shocked that I was actually charged for the dish. The dish at least should've been comped. Went here 2 weeks ago on a spontaneous date with my wonderful wife. It was refreshing to be helped by staff members who really seemed to care about our experience.
