Excellent fish and chips, made with haddock, and served with malt vinegar

We came to visit my son at college. Had lunch at CopperTop Tavern. Service was professional and friendly! I think our server was Christie. We enjoyed our food selections! Fish and chips made with haddock was delicious and malt vinegar was a great touch. Bang bang checkin with egg noodles hit the spot! French onion soup was quite good and hard to come by a good one. Hot honey chicken sandwich also excellent! Great ambiance and music.

Avocado egg rolls - we started eating before I took the pic, sorry - there were 6 pieces, & plenty of sauce. Delicious!

Driving through NY, we stopped based on solid Yelp reviews. Honestly the food quality is a 3 but the service was fantastic, especially our server Jake, so 4 stars. The tavern is located in a plaza with its cousin Tullys (same owner). Plenty of parking and the building is mobility accessible - no lumpy thresholds or steps - but heavy doors to pull open. Gender-specific bathrooms are located off the reception/hostess area and they were clean. We were greeted and seated politely and immediately, told the name of our server, and provided menus with the dinner specials. Jake introduced himself mere moments later and took our drink order. When drinks arrived we ordered the avocado egg rolls. They were hot, creamy with small chunks of avocado, and delicious! Jake got our dinner order and checked back to make sure we liked the appetizer. Timing of our dinners coming out was perfect - not too long and not too quickly after the appetizers. On Jake's recommendation, hubby had the fish & chips with malt vinegar (rather than the steak dinner). The chips were great - hot & crispy - but according to hubby, the breading on the fish tasted like gorton's frozen fish fillets. My salad looked very bland - just lettuce and steak, no sign of tomatoes, cucumbers - see picture. I asked Jake if the dressing was already on it and he said yes. He had warned me the steak is very thin and could not be "rare" as I had requested, and it was definitely not rare but was still tender and flavorful. As I ate the salad I noticed a lot of cream or white sauce in the lettuce underneath the top layer. Jake checked on us and I asked about the sauce. Jake said they put a layer of blue cheese dressing on the plate before adding the salad. He apologized and said he should have told me. I told him it was okay, as it was at first, but the more I ate, the more blue cheese dressing I found. It was gross! The lettuce, few cucumbers & tomatoes were covered in blue cheese dressing (see picture). I looked up the menu and the description of the salad only mentioned balsamic vinaigrette and "bleu cheese crumbles" on top of the salad. When Jake checked back to see if we wanted dessert I showed him my plate, I left a lot of the veggies due to the copious amounts of blue cheese dressing and recommended to him that they could to add it to the menu or warn people! He apologized again and brought a survey card for me to fill out about our experience. I would have ordered something different or asked them to hold the BC dressing - I really could not taste the balsamic. Very nice people working here but we would not go out of our way to stop back.

The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was good. My favorites were the crispy potato pancakes and mashed potatoes were so delicious however the chicken itself (special entree) topped with mushrooms and mozzarella wasn't as flavorful as I expected, but overall, it was a good dining experience.

Located in the town of Vestal, inside the University Plaza, along side the Susquehanna River, is this large tavern. Rustic, roomy seating, full bar, quick, friendly service. The hibachi salmon is delicious with the sweet, honey-teriyaki glaze, served with seasoned rice & broccoli with a lemon sauce. The Raspberry Rocker cocktail is tasty but a little weak in alcohol or try the zesty cinnamon-schnapps Apple Fritter Martini.

We came towards the end of the lunch rush (1-2PM?) and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip and buzzy, with lots of colorful decor. The menu had some very tempting options, even for vegetarians. We started with the buffalo brussel sprouts, a stroke of genius. I'd never thought about dousing this tasty veggie in hot sauce and blue cheese, but it makes sense. This was a very tasty app, and the sprouts were roasted perfectly with crispy outer skins which provided the crunch needed for a good buffalo dish. The special that day was some kind of french dip sandwich which one of my dining companions got. Another one got a cajun catfish sandwich and graciously offered me a bite. It was flavorful. For my main, I got the spring roll bowl and decided to add tofu. It had noodles, peanuts, a sweet thai chili sauce, and lots of veggies. It was MASSIVE. Prices are a little high but the portions definitely made it worth it. I could have taken half home as leftovers if I'd wanted. The restaurant also has a coffee bar which we decided last minute to partake in instead of venturing out into the rain to find a different cafe. This was such a convenient option because we didn't have to fight to find parking or brave the weather to go to a second location. I did a pistachio latte. Someone else at my table got a Mexican hot chocolate. I treated myself to the homemade whipped cream. The coffee hit the spot. Throughout the whole experience the staff was wonderful. Our food came out quickly, and the servers were very friendly and joking with us. I'd come back if I was in the area.

It was around 5:30pm on a Saturday and luckily there were plenty of tables still available. We started with the Buffalo Brussels Sprouts which I absolutely loved! These are some of the best Brussels sprouts I've had at a restaurant. The buffalo sauce was light and not overpowering and even the blue cheese dipping sauce (which I'm usually not a fan of) was pretty mild and paired well with the Brussels sprouts. A great start! We then shared the Large Rigatoni a la Vodka and added Meatballs to it. The Large is definitely enough for 2 people. The Rigatoni was cooked well and the vodka sauce was well balanced with the cream, tomatoes, garlic, and cheese. It wasn't anything spectacular but it hit the spot! My only complaint was for ~$6, I expected the meatballs to be larger than they were. The Meatballs had good flavor but for such a large bowl of pasta, it barely makes a difference. And those 3 meatballs should be $1 each at most, in my opinion. The Side Caesar Salad was a great pair with the pasta and for ~$3, very reasonably priced. All in all, worth stopping by if you're in town!

I was unaware the restaurant was not a stand alone, but rather in a building with other businesses (not a negative, just something to point out). We ate on a Tuesday, pretty early (5:15 reservation) and were there about an hour and 45 minutes, so if you're in a rush for a meal - this isn't the vibe for you. We didn't mind it, however, as we were not in any kind of time constraint. The restaurant itself isn't overly large; so the tables are all pretty close together. Our meals were very good. We both upgraded our salads that came with our meals; I went with the prime salad and my husband the Ceasar. Both were delicious! For our entrees I ordered the Chilean sea bass and my husband the chicken parm. Both were delicious, however my husband's pasta was a little starchy. The two large chicken cutlets with the soft cheese on top really made up for that though! Our server (Alfredo) was very kind and attentive; offering us Prosecco or Complimentary Dessert for our anniversary! We opted for the espresso cheesecake and it was truly the star of the show! Overall: I'd rate it a 4.5, but couldn't justify a 4 star so I gave it a 5. It's a nice place for a special celebration meal!
