A group of 16 wedding goers met after the wedding for dinner. Seated in the converted train station's "ticket office", we enjoyed the intimate atmosphere. Service, food, drinks, and ambiance were all superb. The meals were too many and diverse, as were the beverages, to be related here. The important theme running through the food items, was the satisfaction of every member of the party. Expect to pay a fair price for the first class experience you're bound to recieve. We went here for birthday dinner celebration and what we thought would be a great meal was not. We started with drinks at the bar and then went to our table to start our orders. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but that was really the only positive. There were 6 of us and we started with the calamari appetizer and charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was fine nothing too exciting but the calamari was super salty so most of us did not enjoy it. Then we had our soups and salads. Everyone enjoyed their salads but I tried the lobster bisque which was an additional cost and it was very disappointing. The puff pastry on top made the presentation nice and the flavor was decent but there was no lobster chucks at all in it which was not what im used to at a steak house. Next came our meals which 4 of us ordered the filets and 2 were sent back immediately because they were so salty they couldn't eat it. Mine seemed to have a lot of pepper which i didnt care for but I didn't experience the salt issue so i did not send mine back. Another guest had salmon which she was enjoying until she found a metal coil in it. When we showed/told the waitress what was going on with the meals she took them back but and the people with steaks were given new steaks without the seasoning but no real apology was given. It's really disappointing that management or someone didn't even come to apologize especially for the metal coil because had she eaten that it could have really caused an issue. We were given a few things off the bill but our bill was still over $500 and when you pay that kind of money you expect to really enjoy your meals. The ambiance is nice there and they have potential but after our experience we definitely wont likely be going back. A new neighborhood favorite! This place is very romantic. A perfect date night location! It is very elegant. We went for dinner on a weeknight. It was quite busy but our server took great care of us. Our dinner was relaxed and we did not feel rushed at all. The menu consists of elevated dishes such as steak tartate and saffron risotto. The dishes were flavorful and thoughtfully presented. It's a great place. Very nice inside and kool bar area. The girls got salad and I opted for soup which came out lukewarm, then I opted for salad as well. Salads were good. My mom order the seafood pasta in red sauce. We even asked the server if the sauce was a soupy red sauce ? He insured it was...wrong, it came out like seafood in thick spaghetti sauce. My wife chicken Picatta was so overcooked and tough you had to cut it with a knife. And the Picatta sauce was just ok. It was $40 for a chicken dish...come on!!! I had the pork chop which was ok. Ate here with my wife for the first time. We had a great time and there are definitely more things to love than not! The ambience and decor is incredible. The woodwork, cathedral ceilings, vintage train station signs are beautiful. We ordered calamari to start, and while it's ok it's not the best I've had in Binghamton. My wife had a martini and I had a glass of red wine. I wish the bourbon selection was a little better (some higher end bottles would be nice) and the wine selection for me wasn't great. For entrees my wife had jumbo shrimp and I had the Lackawanna steak sandwich. The shrimp were good. The steak sandwich is enormous. Enough to feed 4 people. My only complaint is that the sandwich is served buried under a mountain of fries. The fries are delicious, exactly the way I like them, I just don't wanna dig through them to get to my sandwich. We also had the Mac and cheese which was delicious. Best we've had in Binghamton. When we finished our food we went over and sat at the bar on the opposite side. The bar is beautiful. Spacious. And they had a piano player which apparently is every Friday and Saturday night. Will definitely be back. If you wanna get dressed up for a night out this is a great choice. read more

The decor of Station 45 was lovely. The details of this railroad station were interesting and appropriate. The table setting was lovely as were the tables and the lighting. The lobster bisque was well done as was the Seabass. Service was excellent. But the dessert of chocolate was tasteless., tiny and overpriced. This is a new restaurant that just opened in Binghamton. Located in the old Lackawanna train station, built in 1901ish, it's a beautiful location with a drop-dead gorgeous interior, and I mean gorgeous! No wanting for ambiance at this place. They've been open with limited seating for a few weeks so the anticipation was high when we finally got a reservation. Was the juice worth the squeeze? ABSOLUTELY! As I mentioned, the decor is fabulous. We are bar people and Station 45 has a great bar vibe. Alicia and Tom were so friendly and accommodating, service here was top notch. The menu is great and there is quite a variety of steak, chops, seafood and bar fare. I'm a sucker for a shrimp cocktail and they served up the largest shrimp I've ever had. It was delicious. My wife had the crab cocktail for an app and she raved about it. I opted for the sausage and peppers sandwich over some great sounding steaks and that was a great choice. My wife had the pasta primavera with shrimp which she loved. Her dinner came with soup or salad, she ordered the cream of mushroom soup. I know my superlative adjectives can get fatiguing so I'll just say this was heaven in a bowl. So let me say this is a high end restaurant with high end food. That notwithstanding, the French fries with my sandwich were unbelievably good. I'm talking McDonalds quality. We both had a couple of drinks and they were great with a generous pour. Ambiance, service,food and drink were all great and above expectations. So price... better than I was expecting. This is a moderately high priced establishment but I think it's a very good value for the dollar. As an extra bonus there is an original historic Marconi radio tower at the edge of the parking lot if you're into that kind of thing. The esthetics are beautiful, the wait staff superb but the food was a huge disappointment. My husband had the linguine and clam sauce absolutely disgusting unwashed clams, no actual flavor other than dumping in clam juice. I ordered the beans and greens which was exactly what I expected but not anything worth $30. We ordered drinks from the bar which were again nothing to write home about and an appetizer, again ok. The fried calamari was limp with no seasoning at all. The steak tartare was not freshly cut and was brown. It MUST be cut to order and be ruby red. My wife's tuna was well done, not rare as ordered. First of all, I love the ambience. The restaurant is very nicely done. Our server was attentive and sweet. However, a $55 tenderloin that was so tough. My friend struggled to get through it with her knife. A $38 sirloin and was also tough. Maybe seared too long? I don't know but for a $200 bill, I expect better. All that came with the steak was three pieces of asparagus and a salad. If you want anything else such as potatoes, it's an additional charge. Wow! What an incredible find. Only 6-7 weeks old, this restaurant comes off like a seasoned professional. Everything was as it should be from when I 1st walked in. Traveling alone, I took a chance that I would be able to get a table without a reservation. It was just after 5:30 and I promised to eat quickly. Although the bar was available and looked very popular, I prefer a table and waitstaff. The 2 hostesses got me a table up front with a promise that I would finish before 7:40 (I did). I ordered 3 appetizers, a perfect Beefeaters martini & a glass of white wine. More than enough! I did manage to spy on the entrees on the next table. The scallops looked devine & the double pork chop with frenched bone was an incredible presentation & I was assured, was excellent. For myself, I had pork belly that was braised with a slightly sweet yet tangy sauce; oysters Rockefeller (truly rocked) & finished off with a tender, chilled calamari salad. My husband and I had heard a lot about Station 45, so we were excited to try it and had high expectations! We went for dinner for the first time last night for a work event! The building inside and out is beautiful! Very well restored and maintained! As we walked inside, we were greeted by wonderful smells, two welcoming hostesses, beautifully set tables, Christmas music, and even a place to hang our wet coats as it was raining out! They've done a great job with the ambiance there!!! Our waitress Rachel was great! I have food allergies and she helped me make sure my meal was allergy friendly! And then we come to the food....unfortunately it greatly disappointed both my husband and myself. I ordered the cold water lobster tail with a side of asparagus, and my husband ordered the seared scallops with risotto. Both of our meals looked beautiful, but were very bland. Both my lobster and my asparagus had no seasonings whatsoever. I went to dip my lobster in the melted butter provided, hoping that it would be salted to provide some flavor and unfortunately even the butter was unsalted. It was very noisy inside the restaurant but, fortunately, the weather was perfect for dining on the outdoor patio. Service was very friendly, but slow due to the crowd. My wife ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which was very good and actually consisted of four sandwiches so she brought half of her meal home. I ordered the 12-ounce prime sirloin steak which was a disappointment. I requested "medium, pink in the middle" but it was served VERY well-done. Dried out and tough to cut with the table knife (no steak knives were provided). The tab came to $92 and we added a 20% tip since we didn't want to penalize our waitress for the incompetence of the chef. read more
