We visited the Galt Flea Market on a chilly late-morning in January, and even with the cold weather there were plenty of vendors out. You'll find a wide variety of items--from home goods and clothing to food and drinks. We're frequent visitors during the summer months and really enjoy walking around, getting some exercise, and browsing the different booths. Parking is generally plentiful, both in the main lot and along nearby side streets, though it's worth noting that during the spring and summer months it can get very busy and parking may be more challenging. One of our favorite things is buying fresh fruits and vegetables, and many vendors are generous with free samples. The flea market is open only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but it's absolutely worth the drive from Lodi for us to explore the vendors and score some great deals. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid. This review is super long overdue lol. They are only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so it is rare for me to come here since I do work on those days. I usually come here mainly for the food. The Chinese food here is so good. Lee's Chinese & American Food is the best! I also like the roasted peanuts as well. Don't be shy to haggle when you see something you want to buy. Clothing, accessories, bags, kitchen items, jewelries, etc. I do not know if any vendors accept credit cards but I would highly suggest to bring cash. The toilet paper dispensers and on the ground sometimes and sometimes there is no soap. No paper towels. It's a mess. Other than that, the flea market offers a variety of good food and stuff to buy!! One complaint about it, is that they only have one size bowl and the noodles in my opinion need to be a bit more cooked. (My son liked them though.) I had to let mine sit a bit longer. I truly enjoy visiting this flea/farmer's market. It's apparent times are changing because there are less farm vendors as before but that definitely doesn't deter me from coming here and getting my fruits & veggies (among other things). A lot of the vendors have a lot of the same items but from my experience the same produce can be of different quality so make sure you make your rounds before buying what you need. There two special vendors named José and Mari who I always see who are always so sweet and engage in conversation. They will always get my business. Anyway, this go round, I decided to get dome dried mango w/chamoy and OMG!! All of his dried fruits were really good but this one was my favorite!! Tuesday and Wednesday only! Typical for flea market vibes, but this market is huge. Don't forget to track your steps because you will definitely be happy with yourself. This market has a range of different goodies. From produce to clothes and everywhere in between. Pre covid I used to buy their candies and snacks. Plenty of fresh produce to go around. Definitely have to walk around and shop since many vendors could be selling the same thing with different price. What's nice about the produce is that it's close to the parking area up front. So you can make your way starting from the back towards up. Looking for plants? They have it too! Electronics available. Plenty of woman's clothing available. I believe there is one day that's more produce than the other so keep that in mind when heading out there. Regardless, still plenty to see. Plenty of park. For the most part its still fun and its always great getting out the house, parking can be hard to come by but i always have a secret place where i park and it never fails and i mean NEVER!!! The flea market is not to big but not to small the only comparison to the size of the galt flea market i would say its almost the same size as the folsom flea market in east sac off folsom blvd. The only difference is that parking is better at galt and its not as run down looking like the one at folsom. They have everything here at the Galt flea market, they have clothes, plants, toys, fresh produce, and of course FOOD!! Beware of where you eat and if you want my opinion i'll tell you who has the best food in galt, i'm not saying beware as in a bad way i'm just saying beware and dont waste your money on some boo boo food. The best food stand in galt hands down stands alone across from all the other Chinese food stands, you have to and i cant say this enough YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE Vietnamese stand across from all the other Chinese stands. They have great chow mein, fried rice, deep fried whole tilapia, red chicken skewers, egg rolls, great glass noodles the best spicy chicken side dish and amazing hard to get curry chicken!!! The curry chicken is my favorite but is hit or miss when they have it, i alone give this food stand 5 stars. They also have Phó and today they had ox tail and beef shoulder stew!! Sooo good! Came here a few times on wholesale day, a lot of items for sale most of which are new and competitively priced. Several food trucks around. One of the cleaner flea markets in the area. Really shows how the small retailers operate and where they buy their products. Wouldn't recommend wholesale day as it is geared towards retail buyers. read more

I love wandering around flea markets. You never know what you'll find. This place is open only Tuesdays/Wednesdays and it gets crowded. It's huge and there are rows and rows of everything you'd expect at a flea market like clothing, toys, household items, etc. Lots and lots of used tools - not sure where one person gets that many used tools and afraid to ask. We don't buy those. But, got a lot of beer tackers for my husband's man cave. Some people are selling used items, while others offer only new. Some are priced to sell, others are not. Typical for a flea market. There are also food trucks with Asian and Hispanic foods. There's an ATM machine in the back row by the restrooms which is convenient. But the real reason I go...the fruit and vegetables! You can't beat it and it's all very reasonably priced. Lots of samples. Everything from watermelon, big, juicy oranges to large strawberries and cherries. Oh, the cherries! Large, dark red and firm, we bought a large bag for $5! They have every veggie you could ever want and a few that I've never seen or heard of before. I'd suggest going early. As I said, it gets crowded. They have a large parking lot and there is street parking, but it fills up fast. read more

I noticed that purses and cheap "Bling- Bling" jewelry were a big draw. I personally am drawn to vendors who sell survival knives. Some of these knives have a compass, others have a glass breaker for emergency situations. My wife enjoys browsing the many purse vendors. Another reason I enjoy coming here is for the food. Don't tell my wife that! My favorite thing to eat here are the grilled chicken skewer. Marinated tender pieces of chicken grilled to perfection.Yum-Yum! No mater what you happen to order, whether it Vietnamese or Mexican, it's all wonderful. Food prices are very reasonable. Today was my first time at the galt flea market . It's been around for ages it seems ! I wasn't here to find gifts , knick knacks, or clothes. I was here for one sole purpose: fruit and veggies ! I'm trying to do a cleanse . See how I said " trying ? " I made sure to mention that specific word because I have commitment issues with cleanses and veggies. In fact , I'm writing this review while I'm on my way to get dim sum . Not all vendors sell organic produce , so be sure to ask if organic is your thing . I was able to get organic cucumbers today, that's it. The rest, well.. I decided for the price I'm paying , it can't be that bad . I'm not usually an impulse shopper, but spending a leisurely day at a flea market can sometimes be therapeutic when I get thoughts of possible bargains and saving money. This is one of the larger flea markets around next to Denial's in Roseville. This city owned market place happens every Tues. & Wed. Unfortunately, I am rarely able to go because I work on those days, but when the opportunity arises during my vacation time, I will set aside my Wed. off to get up early with Joe K. and take the short trek to the sleepy town of Galt, CA. Like most flea markets, expect to find an over abundance of old junk, obsolete items, antiques, deeply discounted new and gently used merchandise. A large section holds a Farmer's market and food trucks. We often have certain items that we keep an eye out for such as tools, attractive rocks and crystals, hair clips, socks and of course fresh produce. This year, over past ones, I spent the most money I would have ever expected! Hair clips for my job were only a dollar each. Socks for me and Joe that we always wear out - 15 pairs for $10.00. Cute novelty necklaces for a $1.00 each. Pair of shoes for $5.00. Two Egyptian statues that went with my collection - $15.00. A colorful garden wind catcher - $4.00. Strawberries, avocados, potatoes and tangerines were just a few of the items we ended up with along our way! Not everything here is old and second hand stuff, there is plenty of brand new merchandise too. Cell phone accessories, Avon products, gold and silver jewelry, pots and pans, toys, plants, Mexican music, ethnic items, clothes, even underwear! Vendors will often wheel and deal, so don't be afraid to make offers. There is also a covered eating area where you can purchase "food truck" style meals and beverages. Since the Galt Flea Market is located on a huge asphalt covered plot of land, going during the warmer months mean that it can get very hot and very uncomfortable to enjoy yourself. Go early in the morning, dress appropriately, wear sunscreen and bring lots of water! The popcorn stand has gotten REALLY expensive!!! It's ridiculously priced for the amount of popcorn you get!!! $7 for a "Family size" bag of caramel popcorn which is really small compared to the one you get at Denios in Roseville, CA. The Chinese food has always been just ok, and you get a full plate of food with egg roll, 1 battered shrimp and 1 battered zucchini for $9. The Aguas frescas were $5 for a large cup, I got the limon con chia and it was delicious and refreshing. Overall a lot of the things were overpriced. The produce looks fresh, I got a bag of fresh cucumbers for $5. The parking sucks but at least it's free. read more

I have been going to Galt Flea Market for produce and various other merchandise for years and never left a review. Felt like it was an ideal time because of the unusual times during Covid-19. Vendors are slowly coming back. The first ones back are the produce vendors. Food trucks are coming back too. There is no sit-down dining. No picnic tables. They have put portable hand washing stations throughout the flea market grounds. There are signs at the entrances that masks are mandatory in order to enter. Almost all the shoppers have masks on. Some vendors are wearing masks. Some vendors offer hand sanitizer before touching their merchandise. I go to the flea market around 8 am when it isn't crowded yet. Most people are social distancing. I found that most shoppers generally wait their turn to pay or to look at a display. Felt it is within my comfort level to go before the crowds. Overall, it is a good experience at the Galt Flea Market during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have done a good job. read more

I love the Galt Flea Market. The sell pretty much EVERYTHING! I love going to the $1 and $3 jewelry booths! I also like the $10 purse stands. They some times even have $5 purses. What I don't like very much ilare the customers! Lol. People are so rude! Will breathe over your shoulder, but into you with no 'excuse me', just frustrating. Went for the first time today. I am a fan! Parking can be a little bad but my advice is park on the street and walk in. Parking is free and admission is free. There is a decent variety of stands. Clothing, antiques, produce, vintage, cell phone accessories, plants, Chinese items, Mexican items, Tupperware and power tools to name a few. My parents used to bring my siblings and I here all the time and we all loved coming here. I still love coming here when I can! There are so many things you can buy here. I love looking at great finds and now that I'm older, I buy only necessities just like my parents. Tools, food, toilet paper, blankets, fruits and veggies, etc. I always end up just browsing and when I get to the end of the row where all the Whole Foods are, that's like Disneyland for me. I discover that some vendors have dragon fruits and some have different types of oranges. I always look for Hmong pepper and am so glad that I found some today. Love this place- its your generic flea market but what gives it a 5 its is Mexican goods and food! Fresh fruit, coconut water, Mexican food and they also have Thai and Chinese food. The Galt Flea Market is like any other flea market / swap meet I've been to. I came to Galt from Los Angeles, CA. There are a lot of swap meets down there. They have music and food, obviously items for sale, etc. In trying to learn more about my new city, I came across a post that said Galt is famous for their Flea Market. I was excited because it sort of made me feel like a part for home was here waiting for me. The post made it seem like the Flea Market was special, full of antiques, good food, and produce. To my disappointment it was just a normal (rather small) Flea Market. As for the antiques... I don't classify used auto parts as antiques. I wasn't impressed. It's not a bad place, but not what I expected. It's average, thus the 3 stars. I think I will revisit it. It's been a while since I've been and perhaps now that I've seen it the expectations I had going in will have left my mind fully so that I can give it another shot! read more

5 stars for the produce, 2 for everything else. But seeing as we only come here for the produce it's always 5 stars! This is the place to come for just about anything you could want for ANY recipe and all the fruit and veggies are incredible fresh. The prices here are fantastic, ESPECIALLY if you're going to buy in large quantities. Just make sure that you're only buying fruit or veggies that are in season. This is not the place to buy a mango when it's not mango season, but it is certainly the only place you should buy a mango when it is in season!! read more

I used to come here often growing up. As I got older it was harder because they are open only Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and due to work it was hard to make it here in the morning. I usually like to come here on Wednesdays, because they have massive produce there. The earlier you get there the better, you get first pick on the produces and its a lot easier to find parking and its not so hot. Win, win ,win. And if you're looking for more of whole sale items then I would go on Tuesdays. Everything is in bulks so its cheap plus the more you buy the more you can bargain with the sellers. ;P. And don't forget too grab a plate of those delicious (slightly on the greasy side, but soooo worth it) chinese food for about $5 bucks. The combo plate: fried rice, chow main, and garlic fried chicken. I'm drooling now. I don't get to come here often so when I get a chance to eat this I will. Yumm. Oh and try to get there early like 8am. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The parking part is freaken ridiculous! If you get there after 10am, finding a parking spot is like hitting the lotto, its that bad. But you might get lucky, but I would just go early. You definitely need to hit the vegetable and fruit stand at the end of it as soon as you possibly can. Although the prices do seem to get better at the end of the day but then of course the selection wanes. I bought some cherries for a dollar, 6 very nice tomatoes for $0.50 and some outstanding cilantro that I'm going to use tonight to make some chicken with. read more

Went with my mom on a whim one morning. We ended up with a couple of useless items aka crap. How sad, but it's okay to enjoy a cheap thrill once in a while (just as long as you're not a hoarder). There are a few things that I look forward to when going to a flea market, and that is the people and the food; particularly the elote (roasted corn on a stick with cheese, butter, and red pepper). I don't know what it is with my obsession with corn, but trust me and try the one on a stick, will you? This particular morning was cold, wet, and windy, so we didn't stay very long; and neither did the vendors. I'd like to come back in the Spring maybe. Galt flea market is great! Only thing is its own only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from early morning to early afternoon. They have a variety of goodies you can get for a good price, especially if you're an expert at negotiating. Goodies like apparel, kitchen ware, and knick knacks you didn't even know you needed! Came here with my husband and my uncle. The 3 of us love to check out flea markets and thrift stores so this was a fun afternoon for us to do since we were visiting my relatives up north. Like other swap meets and flea markets that I have gone to, this flea market has plenty of vendor tables/ stalls that sell more or less of the same kind of things (clothing, pillows, beauty products, cell phone accessories, toys, produce, etc). Bargaining is pretty much greatly accepted (and expected... don't be a sucker and pay the full asking price). Entrance is free to enter by the way and there is plenty of parking.
