i noticed a few issues with my Linear garage door opener: 1) it wouldn't hold the garage door open; door would drop a few inches, which would interfere with my LifeStyle screen door. 2) the motor sounded like it was struggling; a loud brushless motor hum. 3) the 8-foot rail was creaking; silicone lubricant didn't help. i reached out to Mike and sent him videos of the issues. he said he could troubleshoot it, but i mentioned i didn't want to deal with all that; i just wanted a new garage door opener. he recommended a couple wall-mounted units. i chose the LiftMaster 98032. it took Mike under 2 hours to remove the old setup and install the new one. it's nice not seeing that 8-foot rail anymore. with the new opener connected directly to the jackshaft, the system is noticeably quieter, too. the automatic dead-bolt and backup battery for continued use during power outages are great features. i also like the motion sensor that turns on the lights during those quick trips into the garage. the myQ app has a better GUI than the Linear app. upon registration, myQ offered a $5 smart camera for monitoring inside the garage. read more

I was put in touch with Sears Garage Solutions by a high school friend who gave Mike and his company great recommendations. I needed two new garage doors with openers and new tracks. Mike arrived early and showed me all the designs of the different doors, colors, window insert choices and openers. Also control choices along with remote keypads outside each door, which could also be opened or closed with a phone app from the opener company. This feature woks from around town or across the world as long as WiFi is available. Great technology. I selected the doors, colors, window inserts, openers and wall-mounted manual controls. Mike ordered everything and was back to do the installation in less than a week. He and his crew arrived bright and early removed the old doors, tracks and springs, installed all the new replacements, programmed the new opener controls after running the wiring, then showed me how to operate everything. All this in less than a day and a half. All the old parts and trash were removed from the front yard at the end of each day. The new equipment works perfectly and is so quiet! The new doors are foam core to provide sound and thermal insulation. Could not be happier after 2+ years! Sooo I was backing into my garage and obviously backing up faster than the door was going up and the top of my car caught the seal at the bottom of the door. Nothing happened to my car (thank goodness), but I mangled the bottom panel of my 15 year old garage door. I called Sear Garage Solutions right away and Dave came out the next morning. As I suspected, it had to be replaced, as the door I had was too old as a matching panel was no longer available. Dave was great! I picked my door and then he offered me a cheaper option. A customer had ordered and paid for a door, but the customer couldn't be found when the door came in and had been in their warehouse for awhile, so he offered me that door at cost. Had it been white, I would have taken "door number two." I also opted to get the wood around the garage door wrapped. Mike Maletti did the install and it went smoothly. I love the results. This is a local family business with great customer service and quality craftsmanship. I had researched several other companies for garage door service and could not find a company to do everything I needed until I contacted Mr. Dave and his team. I was leery to call Sears at first as I assumed it was going to be another 1-800 number with a company that doesn't do business in our area and push me off to a subcontractor with little or no affiliation to the actual company. What I found was the best combination of the national name recognition of Sears and the personal touch of a local family owned operation. I received several calls to remind me of all of the events and the person calling was always pleasant. I needed new garage doors, openers, and had some rotted wood around the door frames. It was very difficult to find a company to do everything, as most contractors I talked to would only install the doors or repair the wood, not both. With Sears garage doors, I got new everything, doors, openers, tracks, remotes, wrap, trim, rotted wood replacement, etc. for a very reasonable price. The attention to detail was outstanding, and they were very respectful to my house and property. It was good to see a family member on hand during the entire installation process, and everything was clearly spelled out, with no hidden costs. I also liked the convenience of being able to use a Sears credit card and get 12 month no interest financing.
