It's small, cosy and unique in the area. No bookings means you may wait for a table but is worth it. The burgers are a gourmet treat, they have a great wine and beer selection and service is fast and friendly. Prices are higher than you'd expect from a pub but it's associated with a 1 Hat restaurant next door and Rick puts quality over popularity and price. We go often for breakfast with the kids who love the bacon/eggs and bangers/mash, while my wife and I love the burgers and hot dogs.
Others have complained about a TV, high prices and no bookings - if you go to the Greengate the beers are as pricey, the burgers are almost as dear and the big screen TV is always on, and no bookings in he pub either.
If you want restaurant treatment don't go to a pub - it's a pub!!! read more
