The Garden Mart is awesome! We were looking to re-plant a large area in our backyard and our normal nursery was not open. We did a quick google search and found that the Garden Mart was open. We stopped by and they had a great selection of plants to choose from. We asked lots of questions and they had all the answers. We were told to contact Nick to help us finalize our ideas for the area in our backyard. Nick was able to come out pretty quickly and take a look at the space we were working with. We had some ideas as far as colors and possible plants we wanted to include. Nick was able to make lots of good recommendations on specific plants to put in certain areas of the yard. We then met with Nick at the nursery to look at the plants that he recommended. We went with most of what he selected and chose a couple of other plants to add to the mix. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Nick came to our house a week later with a truck full of the plants we had talked about. He plotted them all out where he thought they'd do best and had us confirm it was what we wanted. Nick was able to get all of the plants in the ground the same day (between 30 - 40 plants). We were very happy with the finished product. We talked with Nick after the job was complete and he recommended contacting them in September (the planting happened in early July). He said he'd come back out and take a look at the plants after they'd had a few months to bloom and see if they needed any attention. That is a company that stands behind their work. Overall, the experience with the Garden Mart was great. Everyone we dealt with and talked to was very friendly and easy to work with. We'll stop buying plants at the big hardware stores and keep shopping at the Garden Mart. read more

Came here in hope of finding hummingbird and butterfly plants/flowers that lowes did not have, this Hollister nursery has a great selection at a good price the owner is super nice friendly and knowledgeable on all they have. He will definitely guid you in the right direction in finding what you need. They are not pushy nor follow you around, pretty much a friendly greet .. guid you and answer all and any questions you may have! Cant get that at lowes! :) I'll definitely be coming back. read more

We were looking for a certain flower and call here. The owner was very helpful and nice. She took the time to look for the flower while we were on the phone. Since she took the time to help us out, we decided to drive there and look at the flowers for ourselves. We liked what what we saw and we decided to buy several plants for our garden. We are very happy with the flowers plus she gave us a good price. We would recommend this place definitely!! read more

We needed to re do the whole back yard and wanted native plants that are use to the environment in which we live. Well I stumbled across the garden mart and was pleasantly surprised! They where all sooooo helpful. My daughter was with me and was jumping in the mud and puddles and had a blast! They even helped her hose off her boots when they where cakes in mud! The prices are reasonable. They knowledge they have is beyond impressive. And to top it all off, my yard now looks so so so amazing! I will def be back. The GardenMart has everything! Annuals, perennials, tons of succulents, shade plants, sun plants, grasses, and so much more. I love the pots, and fun decorative items around as well. A high quality selection of plants just for the home gardener who wants to complete their drought-resistant landscaping. My wife and I shopped at their "pop-up" location on San Benito Street in downtown Hollister, CA. Easy access in and out. As we were looking for some hard-to-find plants, we were pleasantly surprised that they had what we needed. All plants are pesticide free according to the owner. This means no nasty "neonics" to poison honey bee colonies. We ended up with a wagon load of plants before leaving. Prices were in line with Lowe's or Home Depot (both of which sell plants treated with pesticides including neonics). As a botanist I appreciate the effort these folks go through to grow their own stock locally. The offerings were healthy and displayed nicely. I definitely will recommend this nursery to others and I definitely will return. read more
