I have been trying to call the Gas Shack for over a week. No answer and no voicemail to leave a message. I need a gas line run from the house to my gas grill on the upper deck of my house. Anyone know if the Gas Shack does this? Or are they still in business? read more

If there's a ZERO star option, that'd fit better. I've been their customer for 8 years and am sad to say that I've spent my last dollar here and won't recommend, at my embarrassment, their products or services to anyone again. Customer service is all that's required to have a business, and even bad service can sometimes make it. But, NO SERVICE is the positive sign of a business that's begging for help in closing the doors. The stated hours on the door, or any that can be found on the website or internet, are a JOKE! The website does an injustice to the actual business practice(s) and appearance of this property, as well as, services and products offered here. Don't waste your time sitting in front of their office for 4 hours on a Monday, or any other day, hoping to see an office that's open to the public for any kind of business. They rarely open, and would say at best, 15 hours per week would be a far stretch, if that much. As other reviewers have posted in the past, their office is a horrendous place, and the showroom looks like a 12 x 12 dusty, cluttered, closet of half displayed non-working units that look as if they've been in there since the 60's. Sorry for the strong and negatively honest review, but successful business ownership takes being sober, well spoken, morally ethic, disciplined to the clock, reminded daily as to the purpose of a business, prideful and attentive to the cleanliness and organization of your storefront, and the list goes on....there is definitely none found in here any longer. It's sad to watch a healthy business destroy itself. If I could help you with any suggestions, it would be, sell out to someone who cares to see a business continuing to do BUSINESS. Customers only ask for someone to be present and willing to SOLVE their heating need and take their MONEY. I've made several trips by there with 2-3 empty 100#'ers each time, during posted "open for business" hours on weekdays only to see your gate locked, and sign in the closed position. Seems you've lost your way and may be time to give it up. So long old friends. I appreciate all of the help you've shown me over the years, but when you failed to help my 73 year old dad on his first, second, and even more foolishly, third and final visit to your office to do business with you, with no one in the office in any of these attempts, you lost me too. You can't do business if you're never open. Oh, remember the 30,000 btu propane vent free heater I came to your shop and asked you about last February and March, the one you said you'd "call me back about", twice? Well, I finally decided you'd forgotten to call so I went ahead and found it at Tractor Supply in December because they were: (1)OPEN (2)in stock (3)less expensive (3B)willing to take my MONEY. When it's cold, all we seek is HEAT. Sadly, the business is all but finished and the morale of the few employees left in there is dismal and they show and voice their disgust with the destruction of a business that would definitely thrive again under new management. Brad is a good technician, and their work is clean. I hope you guys find a good job soon, as you deserve to be able to feed and secure the health of yourselves and your families. They are old school, stuck in the mud, and not interested in communicating. Their office is a disorganized mess. Their technicians do not keep up with current codes so your lines will most likely fail inspection. They will then ask for MORE money to get a new permit even though the failure was their fault to begin with. Ridiculous. One star is too generous. read more

This company was very unprofessional, lacked customer services skills and was very unaccommodating to me while seeking installation services. I waited an extended period of time for a call back from this company only to have to call them back for a resolution. After speaking with the manager (who was less than accommodating also) I have decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend The Gas Shack as they have very poor customer service. I called to have tanks delivered and had to leave a message that they did not return for several days. I had a total use of 5 days approximately an hour a day in the past week and on day 5 the flame went out on fireplace indicating that the tanks were empty. I have had Gas Shack tanks for years and two full tanks last me from one winter season into the next, this time the two full tanks didn't even last a week. I called today to talk with the Gas Shack and their response was "We hear this all the time" with saying that they proceeded to tell me I must have a leak because there was nothing wrong with their tanks, again he said we hear this all the time. I felt this was impossible for 2 full tanks to empty in 5 days and asked them to replace them as I felt they were not full when they delivered them, he told me I would be charged another $156.00 for two new full tanks-After I tried to reason with him he finally agreed to come check the tanks (in 6 days!). After hanging up and feeling completely dissatisfied with the conversation I called him back and told him to just come pick their 2 tanks up and I would no longer do business with them, his response "Oh were fine with that". Worst customer service I have ever received, he did not even try to correct the situation, he acted as though my business did not matter to him-after 7 years they have lost my business.
