Jewelry made for $343.

The service was good! Chris was awesome and a pleasure to work with. HOWEVER...in the process of "making" your own piece of jewelry your participation is minimal. I would say 10% at best. The material used is VERY cheap and the final product is something you would spend less than $20 on at a store that sells bulk jewelry. Our final bill was over $343 + a $50 tip for 3 very unimpressive pieces of jewelry. The process was about 2.5 hours. Value was terrible for involvement and time spent. Lesson learned and we will never do it again or recommend it to anyone. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! See pic attached.

Such a fun fun place for a get together with family and friends. We all made beautiful unique individual rings. Can't wait to go back and do it again.

This was a perfect date night! Our jewler was incredible and helped us every step of the way! It was an incredible experience and memory to make with a loved one! They had so many options to choose from and the prices made sense as the experience unfolded!

Took a jewelry making class today and had a lot of fun. The instructor, Zoe was knowledgeable and made great suggestions for my bracelet and ring that I made. They have a large selection of gems to choose from.

What a fun night with girlfriends! I reserved a spot for 5 of us online. There was a $5.00 deposit per person when reserving. You have to reserve a few weeks out as the classes fill up. The staff is so much fun and the options are awesome. I had a hard time narrowing it down to just one Gem. It took several hours but the time went by super fast. The Salt lake store is located in City Creek center so you can easily grab dinner before you go. Nice selection of Gems to choose from. I made my ring to fit my ring finger but could fit other fingers if I wanted to. Only thing I noticed is that my stone is set a little crooked but it's only noticeable if I wear it on any other finger than my ring finger. In the group of 5 of us the rings ranged from $95 up to $125. I have one friend who wouldn't attend at the time as their options are all silver and she only wears gold. It would be fun if they could add gold band options. Overall a great and fun learning experience.

Birthday party was so much fun, the art teacher was so sweet and did amazing with our guest's variable age group (4-8). Friendly staff, cozy cute place for creating art, AND if you haven't already tried the Gelato..... well then you must! It's so delicious and flavors are always variable so keep an eye out because they may not be the same flavors when you come back! Even if you dont do art, at least try the gelato, you wont regret it!

I found The Art Cottage and learned that they do watercolor classes-and figured I'd give it a try. You do need to call or go online to reserve your spot-space is limited. I called and was able to get in easily for the day and time that worked for my schedule. I showed up a few minutes early and was setup at my station with paint, paper & brushes. I was ready to go! The class was brief-I learned a few basic strokes and techniques in watercolor. Gradient painting where you start very light and work your way into the darkest version of a color. I also learned the "wet on wet" and "wet on dry" techniques and when it would be appropriate to use each. I also learned how to fix mistakes and turn them into more intentional pieces of the art. I really channeled my inner Bob Ross turning things into birds and clouds. After the instruction, I was set loose to do a painting. There were some binders full of examples to provide inspiration, but no step by step instruction, which is different from other canvass/acrylic painting classes I've done elsewhere. I applied the techniques I had learned in the lesson and some suggestions from the instructor. Although my painting might not be one worthy of hanging in a gallery, I enjoyed myself and would recommend taking a class to anyone who might be mildly interested in watercolor.

A little bit of paradise in Utah. I was looking for some things to do in the downtown Salt Lake…read moreCity area during our vacation when I spotted Hawaii Fluid Art at random. I thought this would be a great activity for my LTP and I to do, so I booked a reservation online. We live in Nevada, and their website mentioned that it would take a few days for the artwork to dry completely, hence the fluid art in their name. We were going home the day after the class and we would not be back in time to pick it up, and luckily for us, it was feasible for them to ship our canvas back to us. I think they said that we would get our finished paintings in about a week and a half. I booked for 5/29/26 at 5:00pm and chose to do a small canvas ($65/person plus other fees). Depending on what you're doing and how big your canvas is, it can get messy, so make sure to pack some clothes that you don't mind getting paint on. We packed some shirts that we didn't mind getting paint on, but to be fair, it really didn't get all that messy since our canvases were so small, so it's ok. One thing that I really liked is that we were the only people in the entire class, so this basically was a private session for us. We were asked to choose three or four pint colors of our choice, which was easy for me at least. The first thing we were instructed to do was pour white paint on our canvas and cover it completely by moving it around with our bare hands or by moving the canvas around using the pegs on the bottom. Once we emptied out the cup of white paint, we were shown a technique in which they call the 'blurp blurp' technique, where you pour your colors of choice into the empty cup one at a time for two seconds until they're all mixed in together. Before pouring our colors onto the canvas, we got to decide which design to use based on other designs that were made in the past. What I did on my canvas was pour my paint across the canvas and used the rest of my paint to make some lines from top to bottom and then move the canvas around to cover the white paint up, although some white splotches appeared later on, which is a normal thing to happen. The finishing touch was glitter, which we sprinkled around our canvas like salt. The glitter made our canvases even better. They came out really well and we can't wait to see them when they arrive at my front door or mailbox, depending on what shipping service they use to ship our canvases back. This class was short but sweet. We had a lot of fun here trying out something new.

Are you a creative type...someone that likes to make art? Whether you answer yes or no, Hawaii…read moreFluid Art is perfect for you. It doesn't take any artistic ability, but if you do have such a trait, you can put it to use here as well. What I'm saying is that anyone can enjoy this place-and you should! First, you select the size of canvass that you want to paint. Then, you select up to five paint colors. There are lots to choose from and you can walk around the gallery to see other art and get some inspiration. Depending on what style you like, you'll be guided by a friendly staff member on how to pour your paint onto the canvass and then tilt it in a way that will achieve your desired outcome. It's a fun process and a bit mesmerizing to watch. For an extra fee, they can add resin to the finished piece, which will make it shiny. It certainly makes the colors pop and I'd recommend it. My only complaint is the price. Sure, you're making a one of a kind work of art. But the price point is steep and will certainly eliminate some people from participating. But if you can swing it, I'd recommend you save your pennies and give it a go.

I am so happy to see that Kidzart is offering Pallet Up summer classes at their studio in Murray!…read moreI discovered these adult art classes when I began taking Art Innovators classes through community ed at the Canyons School District. Their curriculum never repeats so all of the projects are different and they use a wide range of mediums so you get to try new and different ones at every class and they provide all the supplies so all you bring to class is you. Just this past year I have used charcoal, chalk pastels, watercolor, Prismacolor markers and acrylic to name a few. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. The classes are structured so that at the end of each one you have created a finished work of art ready to frame. Best of all, they welcome all skill levels so you never feel intimidated even if you are a beginner like me. If you are looking for art classes that are in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price I highly recommend Pallet Up!

I had such an incredible time at Crafted Rings! I love the idea of being able to create my own…read morering, and Cole took me step-by-step through the process and helped me to do as much as I could on my own. Now I have not only a cool new ring but something I can say I crafted myself! After selecting a design, the first step of the process was hand carving the ring out of wax - making the ring big enough for my finger and shaping the pattern on the outside. All the necessary tools were provided and were easy to use, especially with Cole's tips and expertise. (As someone with very limited experience with creating anything by hand, I very much appreciated this!) This step had the most amount of time allocated to it, and does require a degree of delicateness with the wax and patience with the process and with yourself. Luckily, Cole was also able to help undo or cover up mistakes (or weld the ring back together when the wax snapped - which definitely didn't happen five or six times ) Next, we used the wax ring to create a sand mold into which the silver for the ring could be poured. This doesn't take long, but prepping the mold also requires some delicate work. Again, Cole was there to help with corrections and mistakes. Since I was there by myself, I may have had a chance to be a bit more involved in preparing the silver for pouring into the mold than a group may have been able to. After the mold was ready, we used a torch to melt the silver and Cole poured the silver into the mold in one smooth, expert motion. The ring formed and cooled quickly, so within a minute or so we were putting the finishing touches on the final product. Finally, after some "pruning," sanding, and polishing, I have an awesome ring I can truly call my own! If you've ever wanted to craft something yourself worthy of being an heirloom that you could truly cal your own, or if you're looking for a meaningful gift of jewelry that isn't marked up to ridiculous prices just to take advantage of you, (OR if you just want to experience imagining yourself forging your own Ring Of Power in the fires of Mount Doom) I can absolutely recommend Crafted Rings!
