Given the layout of the road to/from Massanutten, this gas station is easier to access when leaving Massanutten rather than going in. Once in, there are multiple pumps that were relatively easy to access. It tends to be a busy station with cars accessing the pumps and the parking spots directly in front of the store. GAS PRICE. The price per gallon was competitive with prices that we had seen on our way to Massanutten from central Virginia. We did notice a station on Rte. 33 towards Harrisonburg that was 2-cents per gallon cheaper later on the same day. We didn't go into the store, but noticed a sign for "Raise the Roost", chicken and biscuits which are sold in the store.

They have a build a bear type of section that you can customize to you preference. They also had a coffee bar that is can get a quick drink. They have a little grocery section if you want some snacks or beverages. I grabbed some water and sodas for me and my daughter. Prices reminded me of 7 eleven so expect to pay a little more. It was very convenient since it was close by.

The grocery section is pretty small but had everything I was looking for - sliced bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The price is roughly 2 times what you would expect to pay at Food Lion though - $5 for half a gallon of milk, $5 for a loaf of bread, etc. There's also an assortment of souvenirs if you're interested in that kind of thing, including a mini Build a Bear type machine (where you stuff the animal with cotton and pick out an outfit). Although we didn't go fishing at Massanutten, we did hear that you can buy fishing bait, a fishing license, and rent fishing gear here too. Apparently their lakes are stocked 8 times a year so there's always fish!

More importantly, and the reason I am writing this review, is that Midtowne Market stocks an ever changing selection of unusual/hard to find beers. They stock Rouge Ales, Bell's Beer (a good brewery from Michigan), and many other brands that you will be hard pressed to find without a trip to Northern Virginia. Finally, note that their selection is ever changing, so on a positive note there will usually be something new to try, but on a negative note, you might find your new favorite beer only to have it disappear the next time you visit. It's not perfect, but it's a refreshing change from the usual beers sold at supermarkets elsewhere.

Not just with vehicular traffic, but with foot traffic and bikes. There were a few out front while people were rummaging inside and dining. I made my way in and headed for the facilities. They were in order and a breeze to use. Came back out to grab a drink and snack for the road. I then got in line, bypassed the self checkouts to get an item from behind the counter. The staff here were kind of fun. They kept it moving though. Having gotten my items I headed back outside to try and get out of this lot. With the amount of customers here, it can take some time to get out of your spot. Not only that, it may take some time to get on the road in the direction you need to go. This is a very busy intersection and you do need to be careful when exiting.

Not being from the area I leaned into knowing Sheetz were in the area. Getting here was a trip. The street grid around this location had me double guessing whether I was going to the right area. Once I did get myself to the lot I parked and ran inside. Ran to the facilities and found some sweet relief. Once finished in there I came out into the store area and then decided I should grab something eat. I tapped on the screen and got myself a quick breakfast. Paid and just waited for my food to be prepared. Not being in a rush I opted to eat in house which is rare for me in a Sheetz. I moved into the dining area and was the only one in there for the duration of my meal. I'm impressed with the setup in here as they took the customer experience into account. Each seating area had access to an outlet that included USB charging ports. Napkin dispensers within reach of everyone. Television on a channel to give some background noise for the dining area. The food was exactly what I needed for a breakfast. The fried things were a bit too greasy, but I knew that was going to happen. The breakfast sandwich was a usual go to for me at a Sheetz. While I ate more food I did some people watching from the window seat I had. Sheetz draws some crazy characters. Once I was done, threw my trash away and back outside I went. Leaving the lot was as crazy as the street grid. Traffic light was located right at the one entrance to the lot which made it a bit hard to form a line of any kind for vehicles exiting.

When I scrolled through the pictures for this restaurant, I knew I wanted breakfast, a burrito or maybe a sandwich but I got there and I got distracted by the menu. I believe this is a family owned business. The lady at the counter was really nice and provided great service even though it was a busy day. I ended up getting 2 tamales with rice spicy. They were really good. The masa was flavorful and it was the right texture. The rice was flavorful too. The next time I'm in the area I will be coming back in for something else.

I went here today for lunch with my wife and was absolutely floored! The quality of all of the ingredients and the care taken by those who prepared it is second to none.
