    Complimentary champagne when checking in!
    Jryn ..

Always a must stay when visiting Lake Geneva. Beautiful rooms, beautiful views and has an amazing restaurant called The Grandview. I only stay here when I visit.

We had a wonderful time! We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It was fantastic! We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne which as awesome. The place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had a room on the second floor with a lake view. It was beautiful. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was huge with a beautiful walk in shower and the bed was very comfortable. Off the balcony was a beautiful view of Lake Geneva. The service and staff were awesome. The hotel is closed during the week for breakfast so we went down the street to Joni's Diner which also fantastic. This is a highly recommended stay. Thank you so much.

If you're one of those Chicagoans who head to Lake Geneva when you want a change of scenery but are disappointed when you find there are thousands of other people who had the same idea, then The Geneva Inn is for you. It's about 5-7 minutes from the heart of downtown Lake Geneva and gives you a wonderful view of the lake without the addition of the weekend beachgoers or having to crisscross through the side streets hunting for parking beforehand. The Geneva Inn is one of those places the locals know about as somewhere they can enjoy the same lake you can see downtown, but where the only distractions are occasional laughter from another table or the server asking to refill your wine glass. I enjoy sitting on their patio when I go and feeling the breezes off the lake while I enjoy their wide selection of wines and food. So if you're like me when you visit Lake Geneva and want to chill outside while you eat or drink, but don't want to sit near the street watching the endless parade of cars, motorcycles, and people, then stop at The Geneva Inn on your next trip. You're certain to leave more relaxed than you arrived.

This is a very cute and upscale inn. We came for dinner at the Grandview restaurant, which has an excellent cocktail selection and a solid wine menu. The Aperol spritzer was perfect for the summer breeze. We also enjoyed a view of the stunning sunset over Lake Geneva. Our server was attentive, and the menu boasted a fairly eclectic selection of three kinds of main courses for fish. I would never have thought to pair New Zealand lamb tenderloin with Fabian's, but the combination was out of this world. A fabulous dinner experience all around.

    View from the balcony! Amazing

Not a friendly experience dealing with front desk. Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Dated decor. The bathroom was nice.

The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. Along with a mansion where you can book a room, Maxwell also includes beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. But it's the speakeasy, which is accessible outside in the front of the house, that you'll want to visit. Ask for the password inside the mansion, and they will let you into a dark, below-ground bar. It's all decorated in prohibitionist flyers, and even the bartenders are dressed up in period costumes. It's a really cool and unique bar in Lake Geneva.

A few days after we visited the speakeasy, we went in to try the apothecary bar to get some food and drink. A friendly helpful bartender, explained all their creative cocktails, shared the pub food that they offered, and answered questions. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a spinach artichoke dip as well as a couple of cocktails. They served us at a table where we sat on a couch in a room just across the hall and were quite comfortable. There are other rooms where you can go - not much seating in the actual apothecary bar.

We experienced an emergency that required us to be out of our room for most of the day. The following day, a senior staff member wearing a sports jacket approached me in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. She spoke to me disrespectfully, refused to identify herself when asked, and treated me as though I was a second-class citizen. To make matters worse, after we checked out, the hotel charged us a $263 cleaning fee, even though the room itself cost only about $150 per night. They have refused to provide any reasonable explanation or issue a refund. I will be disputing this charge with my bank. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend staying here. Management should provide better customer service training and ensure that guests are treated with respect and that any additional charges are properly explained and supported.

I love that the room had a stovetop and full fridge so that we didn't have to eat out every night, especially when my young kids barely ever finish a meal. The kitchen was stocked with 1 pan, 1 large pot, 4 large plates, 4 small plates, 4 bowls, and some glasses. It was enough for us to get by for a couple days but I did have to run the tiny dishwasher once during our stay. I brought my own dishwasher pods but I saw they had 1 pack of detergent available. I forgot about the lack of oven and bought frozen pizza, so don't be like me! The arcade is way too overpriced. I came to realize that you're paying $10 for each Virtual reality ride. Most of the games cost a couple bucks each. It would be better if you could get a card that worked unlimited for an hour. I think between my husband and I re-upping our cards, we spent $500 at the arcade & bowling alley over 3 days. My kids did love the mini bowling lanes, but again at $6/player/ game, it added up quickly. I didn't feel that the room was that outdated. I loved the big whirlpool tub, but one of the jet covers would fly off any time we turned it on. All in all, I'd return but mostly because I want to go to the nearby Safari when it's open for summer.
