We have 2 long haired, 5 lb Yorkshire Terriers. They are high maintenance and take a great deal of care and patience on the grooming table. Moose has anxiety and Daisy pancakes (lays flat on her belly when being groomed), making it even more of a task to groom them. Dominique is amazing! She takes her time and is extremely conscientious. She wants to make sure their groom is perfect. Dominique is kind and gentle with my babies and I greatly appreciate her dedication. I can't say enough about her. We discuss what I expect or need every single time and after the groom, she lets me know how things went and asks me if there is anything I'd like to change at the moment or for the next time. Nick was nice with my Shepherd/Lab mix and made her feel comfortable. His colleague was also very nice. They spent almost two hours grooming her. The reason he gets only three stars is because I wanted an accurate quote over the phone and he provided me an estimate, which is fair given that he had not seen my dog at the time. When he saw my dog face to face, he said he wouldn't know the exact price until he started because he wouldn't know the extent of work. I did not hear from him until he was finished and he charged me $15 more than the top number of the range he quoted me. We used this service recently and waited 4 weeks for an appointment but it was well worth the wait. Our chow chow is 13 1/2 so of course I love a mobile groom for him because it's less stressful. When Nick arrived I liked him right away because he had a calm demeanor and I knew he would be sweet with my dog. It took almost two full hours but the end result was worth the steep price. This is the 5th(!) groomer I have used since moving to the area. I thought I'd give Gentle Spaw a try because basically I was out of options. It took a few weeks to get an appointment but at this point I didn't care. I was desperate to find a great groomer that connected with my very sweet and timid little doggie. Ashley came to groom my dog Archie in a very cute van. She came inside the house to meet Archie and sat in the floor with him so he could come to her! None of the other groomers ever did this because they were always in such a rush to get to their next dog. The van was super clean on the inside and my little guy jumped right into her arms and was literally calm and happy the whole time. He felt so comfortable with Ashley and she was so gentle with him. She has a lovely sweet vibe with dogs and it's obvious they respond well to her. Ashley wanted to spend the time doing a puppy cut and but I asked for a complete shave so the cut was exactly what I asked for. Puppy cut will be for the next groom in 5 weeks. The "gentle" Spaw is not gentle at all. Ashley cut my dogs vein when he was cutting my 13 year old dogs nails. He bled all over my house, on the carpet, on his bed. My husband spent 4 hours at the ER with our dog as he got a miniature seizure from the loss of blood. I have reached out to them and they never replied. So ridiculous and unprofessional.
