A random girl at this bar came up to me and my boyfriend and randomly grabbed his face and tried to kiss him. It was so weird and very uncomfortable and borderline assault. We went to the staff to report this to try to get them kicked out as they kept laughing at us and the security just let it go and didn't take the situation seriously at all. Huge place and mainly (Premier league) football bar, lots of tv in different nooks. Most importantly they had the NFL on Sunday evening and even on the big screen. Food looked good, no Vodka there for our friends. read more

Went here to watch an NFL game, they charge a 2€ cover per person to enter but when you get in they just have NFL RedZone playing. When I asked them to just put one game on the TV they said they were only showing RedZone. I wouldn't recommend this place for watching NFL games. read more

This clearly is an owner who has no idea how to run a bar. Let me set the scene - came here for a match. TVs wouldn't work. No one was in charge. End of days ended up missing an undefeated team for other nonsense. In the end this is an owner who is making money off of tourists. Went to Barcelona after graduating college and hit this pub with some friends. Great place to meet younger people who are looking to have fun. The inside is beautiful and has numerous TVs throughout both floors, features a dart board, and plenty of seating. The staff is super friendly as well. Must order the Barcelona blackout!! Came here to watch a soccer game. Tip: if you want good seats, come at least an hour before your scheduled game. We got prime seats and glad we did because once the game started, there were many people standing. Below the TV is a piece of white paper that tells you what games will be viewed on that particular TV. Food wise - disappointed. I ordered "Dana's combo platter" which consisted of: Mozzarella sticks- probably the only good thing in this platter Onion rings - tasted as it was sitting out for hours. Hard and stale Chicken fingers - came out hot. Not much taste though. Buffalo wings - cold Irish pork - unless they are the sausages in gravy, then it failed to make it on our plate Sausages in gravy - straight out of a can. Not good. Fries - cold, old and stale The dips: bleu cheese which doesn't really taste like bleu cheese. Salsa - to go with the old stale chips And BBQ sauce. Don't order this!! read more

Came with a few friends to watch the Super Bowl and it was €10 euro entry fee accompanied with one weak free drink. The ambiance gave an American feel in Barcelona which was nostalgic however you could tell the evening was a money making scheme from entry. The game was streamed on a sketchy website that had none of the beloved advertisements and then when it came to Rihanna's long-awaited performance they purposefully turned the lights on and sound off to kick customers out around 2:15z This was very poor business to kick paying customers out of the bar before the proclaimed closing time of 3am and while the halftime show was playing. Sadly, I don't know if I will return George Payne because tonight was a real pain. read more

George Payne gets a bit of a bad rap. It's not a dirty, cheap Irish pub (Ryan's). It's not Spanish (Everywhere else). It's a place where I can watch a match and not worry about working on my Castellano. It's a place I can get nachos that taste like nachos and chili that has some kick to it. I've seen it packed on game nights, but the crowds tend to be reasonably pleasant and quite varied English speaking ex-pats. Other times they have pretty good specials (a 2-for menu before 3PM) and lots of seating. Those who are there in the off hours are chatty. Maybe too chatty. One guy spent the better half of my lunch telling my date how he just broke up with an annoying American who had a Pomeranian. The only bad part of George Payne is that EVERYONE goes there. Perhaps that's why my friends normally pish-posh it. They don't want to be found. read more

This Irish Pub is rowdy, loud and hosts themed nights such as their weekly beer pong tournament, catering towards the university students that make up the bulk of the crowd. The venue overall reminded me of a Greek frat house throwing one of its parties. Their special events consist of : -Beer Pong Tournaments: hosted every Monday between 32 teams, with the final team winning 50 euros. You need a partner, and there's a 5 euro sign up fee per person. -Karaoke Night: hosted every Thursday for those of you who want to belch your vocals out. Besides the events, other highlights here are the darts, and a large sangria bowl the size of a head that can be shared between multiple people. The icing on the cake for me here was the music. Ranging from the latest hip hop and rap hits to throwbacks such as Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys, it's not surprising that at any given moment you'll see half the pub dancing or singing along. As a FYI, you might feel a bit out of place if you're considerably older than the university attendee. read more

A friend told me about their drink deal called the Barcelona blackout and said we had to go for it! It is delicious and includes a lot of alcohol (we ended up ordering three of them between five of us). Their appetizers are really good as well (the nachos and mozz sticks are delicious). The music is great and upbeat, and they also have live bands playing some days. Highly recommend coming here if you like to have a good time. read more

The daily lunch deal is pretty good..buy one get one free. Ate here 3 times over my stay. Ribs were not bad by European standards. Very tender with Southern style BBQ sauce. Burgers were fairly tasty. Wings were not so great, they have a hot sauce that taste like it belongs on chinese food. All they need to do is not overcook the wings and add some buffalo flavor. Big issues were that they hoard napkins, give you one and good look getting a second, which is needed for ribs and wings. Second, waiters and waitresses just disappear on you...literally. first one left for lunch without saying a word, 20 minute ordeal to get the check. The only god thing about this place is the Karaoke on Sunday nights. Otherwise, it is overpriced and they will regularly renege on their Happy hour or meal deals whenever it suits them. This is particularly true if there is a large sporting even where they know people will pay no matter what. Another example of their dishonesty was advertising that they would stay open later than usual to broadcast the entire Superbowl. They were lying, of course, and once they had wrung out every bit of money they could, they close the bar just after halftime and kicked everyone out. In truth, they never had the license to operate for the later hours and simply neglected to tell everyone they would be missing half of the biggest game of the year. read more

I'm an American living here in Barcelona and I have to say the the 'Payne' if you will is a great bar. This is a very large bar with really nice Irish decor, comfy bar stools, great atmosphere, and lots of interesting people from around the world. Their karaoke night on Sunday is truly something to experience. They also offer American football games, Irish sports, rugby, and more. They have an amazing 2 for 1 lunch special that runs till 5pm that is an amazing deal. I usually get the burger or the chicken curry. This is also a great place to be single as I have met many pretty girls in this bar too. Hint, hint. read more

Exactly what you'd expect for an Irish pub outside of Ireland. Everyone one that works here is great and they can handle a crowd well. And there will be a crowd at game time. It's a great place to catch a game. Their sangria isn't great but the price is right, then again you didn't come here for that. Of course I'm from the states and this is the same bar as I have at home. So while I've been here with friends, while touring a new country perhaps this isn't the most adventurous spot. Great place for American food because they have buffalo sauce and ranch!! Some things are oddly kind of pricey like the jalapeño poppers but overall food is good. The karaoke nights are fun there too but it's hot as hell upstairs when the place is busy. I go here often with my American friends and they play American sports such as the Super Bowl. I really would like to give this place a 3.5 (drinks very mediocre while atmosphere was great). I came here with a big group of people on a Friday night and it was perfect for all of us. Just enough for us to chat in but also had to fight for a table. Unfortunately, there is no karaoke on Friday night, so that was a little bit of a bummer, but despite that it was still fun. As for the drinks, the blackout tray is good bang-for-the-buck. It took a while for us to get it as there were 9 people who had ordered it ahead of us, but it was worth it (in terms of alcohol percentage-wise). The drinks themselves were actually quite horrible, but it's forgivable when in good company. read more

I would not even give this place a 1 star. This establishment came recommended by our concierge to watch the World Cup. My spouse and I showed up at half time to watch the game when we were told we are not allowed to come in. Cute, when we looked through the window and not one person standing, barstools were open. I guess they are only into serving a selective kind of audience. If you are selective to your audience for the WORLD CUP then please state it's a private event.
