I loved how easy it was to customize and purchase a card. You could upload custom imagery and have it printed on a card, and have the card front saying different things - Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Birthday - whatever... I even found a code to wave the purchasing fees... Now, the part that I absolutely HATED... Activating the cards was a pain in the rear end. I called the automated number and punched in the card numbers just fine, but since I had multiple cards when it came time for the automated system to ask me to PRESS _ to enter another card, the system errored out and wouldnt allow me to choose that as an option. I tried at least 3 times to do it this way. So, as a work-around, I just hung up the phone for each card and called back for activating each one... Apparently this was a BAD thing to do... I guess they flagged my number as spam or something after the 10th call-in because when I call now to activate a card all I get is "We're sorry but the number you're calling from can not be serviced at this time. Goodbye." and just hangs up on me. I called customer service at another number and the foreign lady tells me, we're sorry that you're having this issue 40 times, and tells me, well you can also activate them on the website... yeah, like I didn't hear your phone system tell me that 10x already... TRIED IT!!! Guess what happened??!!! It errored out too... I punch in the card number, the expiration, and the security code... It then wants me to do a captcha window, which I perform (and yes, I did it correctly - I'm not a moron) and surprise surprise -- "A system error has occurred. Please try again later." every damn time. Tried it a handful of times on THREE DIFFERENT BROWSERS... All failed to proceed with activation. Definitely will NOT be using this company again. I have audio recording of the system blocking my number, and screenshots of the website erroring out for no reason. read more

I tried this website because there was zero fees for getting my gift cards. I did do some research on the company and I did see a lot of mixed reviews. But when I bought my gift cards, there were issues viewing the cards and it kept giving me an error message. I called the company but they were no help. They tried resending through email that still gave me the same error message. So I asked for a refund and they were unwilling to help. So now I had a file a claim through my bank to hopefully get my money back. Do not get gift cards from this place at all. read more

The retailer offered 25% discount with Black Friday code. Unfortunately after checking out we discovered that they didn't give us any discount at all. After failing to get a real person to talk to about this on the phone, I tried their email address for customer service. It comes back as undeliverable. They told me to wait for 15 days to see if it gets delivered, it didn't. So I called back and they said they would open a case on it, gave me a case number and said I will receive a call within 4 days. No call, no email. This is located at the outlet mall in Cypress and they have pretty much every corporate mainstream gift card that you could ever want, which I don't think this is necessarily a good thing, in fact it's probably a bad thing. It's not a bad little stand and they have a good variety, but it's really just an extra way to make money for the mall and for the millionaires, so in that regard I'm not really a huge fan, but if you like gift cards and corporate stores, you probably will be. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I'm completely convinced that this company does everything in it's power (using multiple methods) to frustrate you so you finally just give up and don't activate the cards. I bought 25 of these to give to my employees for the holidays. Ever since then, many have given them back saying they tried and tried to activate on line (and, when that didn't happen, via calling The Gift Card Co) to no avail. When I tried to do it myself, I ran into the exact same thing as they did. I would get the following message: "A system error has occurred. Please try again later." This happened time and time again, even using different browsers as some merchants are not compatible with Google, etc.. Therefore, I called the 1-800 number, and got the following message: "We're sorry but the number you're calling from can not be serviced at this time. Goodbye" then it terminates the call...REMARKABLY FRUSTRATING! When I finally got ahold of someone in "customer service", they had a very thick accent (I've worked abroad for much of my career and can appreciate many accents, but this was nearly impossible to understand). When I explained the situation, I got put on hold no less than 4 times and each time, it got longer and longer. One call lasted 43 minutes and they told me to just try to activate the card tomorrow as their systems were down.....REALLY!?!? I have since filed a complaint with my credit card company and hope to get refunded. This was supposed to be a nice way for me to thank my employees but ended up being a HUGE pain and completely not worth it. I ended up collecting all the cards and just issuing straight cash. I was so excited about finding this site and ordered 3 email gift cards and 2 plastic cards to be mailed physically. I spent $100 on each, so $500 - these were Christmas gifts. The 2 "mailed" visa cards order was placed on 11/27/24 and to arrive 6 business days later - 12/6/24. They didn't arrive so I called the company. Spent 15 min w/ "Kida" whose only recourse was to tell me to wait 15 days! He refused to put me through to a supervisor and was willing to let the conversation end with me stating I would be filing complaints with e-commerce, attorney general, BBB, etc. (it got that bad). He FINALLY transferred me to his supervisor "Francis." She gave me the same runaround. I had to state that I wanted to talk HER supervisor 6 times. The transfer took 9 minutes on hold. "Harvey" looked into my records and discovered my gift cards were never sent. He immediately did so and apologized for his employees actions and said he would talk to them both. I was going to give this a 1 rating, but Harvey took me seriously and stated he would recommend better training in favor of the customer. Don't know if this will come to fruition, but - he made me feel understood and had a remedy for my issues. So maybe if you know what you're going to buy when you purchase the gift card so you have enough money on the car they're fine but if you give this card as a gift that person will have to find something that cost less than the value of the card to be able to use it. I keep trying to apply it to my Sam's club order but it says set pin on first use but it won't let me get to the first use. So either I just can't use it or I have to find something that cost less than $20 for an e gift card nearly impossible. On top of that I can't get any help and on their website there is no place to set pins up or anything like that. Recommend purchasing a gift card that can be used like a gift card because these have to be used as a debit card so you can't just apply it to the order. The only gift card I've ever had where I can't just apply the value to my order and then purchase the rest with my own money. Don't go through the headache. I called The Gift Card Shop customer service in the hope the address could be corrected abut was told nothing could be done.
