There is not much harder to do then to order flowers sight unseen. But I didn't have a choice. One of our dear friends lost their mother and we wanted to show our respect to him and his family. I was going to use one of those big online companies, but decided to give the local shop a try. I picked the Gilded Lily because their website was easy to use, it was interactive and the selection included pictures and prices. I called the owner Toi to ask questions and ended up lacing my order with her. As you can see, she did a great job on the wreath. It arrived before the services and the family really appreciated it. Next time I need flowers in Spokane, I know who to call. Let's just hope for a happier occasion. read more

I received a beautiful bouquet of white roses, alstroemeria filled in with chamomile and ferns. You could tell when they arrived that they were fresh. The roses were firm and tight, and the bouquet was full, the water clear. Five days later and everything it is still full and beautiful. I think my hubby has found his new go-to florist. I can't recommend the Gilded Lily enough! Mom's surgery went well, but I needed beautiful flowers fast. The ikebana option at Gilded Lily was something I knew Mom would love, would remind her of her time in Hawaii with tropical flowers and orchids, and would cheer her up. Talking with Toi on the phone assured me that she would take care of our needs. I got a picture of the arrangement from my niece and it was tremendous: birds of paradise, roses, dendrobiums, anthuriums, artistically arranged in what was really flower sculpture art. BUYER BEWARE - NO DELIVERY SENT AFTER PAYMENT. Sent in an order the day before with specific instructions it should be there by 11am for a birthday surprise. That did not happen. Called an hour and a half after that time and the staff on the phone was fumbling over words about why the order hadn't left, mumbling about how the order was definitely HERE but the delivery person is out. So they don't eve have it yet? Kept back pedaling and it was obvious the order wasn't even seen or acted on yet. They then tried to claim it was the weather although it wasn't particularly bad. They said it should be an hour and the driver would call do confirm it was delivered. Never happened. Called back before 5pm to see what happened and they would not answer the phone. Finally did and said this was the 24 hour staff and they couldn't look into it until the next day. read more

I don't know what has happened at the Gilded Lily....but things have gone straight in the toilet. They managed to disappoint two 90+ year old ladies this Christmas. I hear they may have changed hands and/or are in the process of expanding and are over their heads...but whatever the reason, customer service is gone and so am I. Doesn't seem like anyone is in charge or cares. Called on 22 December 2016 to have surprise flowers delivered to my 96 year old Mother and 94 year old Aunt before Christmas. The lady on the phone said they might be able to deliver today if we hurried but I told her the 23rd would be fine. $150ish dollars later I hung up hopeful. Couldn't get my Mother on the 23rd but did connect with her about 6pm on the 24th. She didn't say anything about flowers so after awhile I asked her directly if any deliveries came in the last day or two. She said she had not received anything and, given the circumstances, I had to tell her what I had ordered and to expect them soon. I hung up and immediately called the Gilded Lily number. They were closed....but their answering service answered. They told me they were still delivering....but when I told her they should have been delivered on the 23rd she took my name and said her supervisor would be calling me about status. (sure they will...never happened) Crickets from the Gilded Lily through Christmas. My Mother had Christmas dinner at my Aunts house so I called there Christmas evening for my normal holiday call and asked if the flowers ever arrived.......neither of them had seen or heard anything. On Monday, 26 December, I started calling the Gilded Lily at 0830. No answer and about the third time I let it roll to the answering service and asked if they were open. The service said they were so I asked them to have the manager call me ASAP. No call so about 45 min later I called the Gilded Lily again and got through. I asked for the manager and was told she was at their new location.....Wild Flowers. Called there and was told she was not coming in but there was another guy who would be. Gave that lady my name and number and asked that they call me immediately. (Apparently there is nobody in charge and either location.) Called back to the Gilded Lily number and nobody answered. Kept trying with multiple phones with no success. At about 9:40 I called back to the Wild Flowers number and was mad enough about the terrible customer service that I told them to just cancel the whole order. It took the phone being passed to three different people to get that done. Very impressive. During the last call I was given a half baked excuse that the weather had been bad and they had trouble with deliveries. (23 and 24 Dec and no call?) I grew up there.......Spokane gets snow in the winter.... but life goes on. My cousin was able to pick up my 96 year old Mother at the nursing home and take her to my Aunts house just fine. Walker and all. The fact that nobody called me or the recipients to tell them there was some kind of a problem is inexcusable. After I cancelled the order I called a smaller florist farther north in town, placed my delivery order (slightly cheaper) and asked if they had trouble delivering before Christmas. They said they had no trouble and would deliver the flowers today. BTW, I have yet to receive a call from anyone that calls themselves a manager at the Gilded Lily. read more

I would give The Gilded Lily ZERO stars if I could. Flowers were delivered in a very sad state to begin with. The next day, over half the bouquet was browning, drooping and dying. On top of a very bad product, the customer service from the manager, Katie, was beyond rude, and included name-calling. DO NOT USE THIS FLORIST! I received another bouquet the same day from Rose & Blossom and it is GORGEOUS! Their staff was very kind and helpful during the entire transaction. (It was an out-of-state order). After stopping by to other florists I decided to pick this one because it looked a little bit more presentable on the outside. However, maybe I should have stuck with the other two. Now I'm no florist but I expect a little bit more for $60 the two gerbera daisies a couple of carnations s and the rest all green! I even provided my own vase? Also, their sign says veteran discount. What is a veteran? Is it somebody that has served or is it somebody that is still serving? After 17 years being active duty and still active duty I would consider myself a veteran.... However they don't. I don't understand that logic? Anyway, I guess the 10% would have saved me on tax. I think I will stick to the florist that I'm used to on the South Hill..... I have ordered many flowers in my day, from such shops like evergreen florist and wildflowers to name a few, but the gilded lily exceeded my expectations, which were already high to begin with. I received my delivery which was not a timed delivery at around 9PM which proves how hard they work, and how they are willing to sacrifice their spare time to fulfill their obligations. The arrangements were by far the best I have ever seen and the prices were more than worth it for what I received. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and more than happy to accomodate my needs. read more

I would absolutely recommend Gilded Lily because of their creativity, quality and commitment to customer satisfaction. Toi, the shop owner, designed my wedding flowers and they were absolutely perfect. Each of my bridesmaids' bouquets were a bit different and she even made an extra tosser bouquet (which we forgot to add to our order). For my bridal bouquet she incorporated pieces of jewelry from each of my grandmothers. It was just lovely and the colors complemented our vintage / country theme beautifully. Flowers were ordered for Valentines day for a gal in my office. They "tried" to deliver at 4:30 pm and didn't come in our doors, just left a note saying we missed you with boxes checked for "Kindly phone us" and "Your delivery is at" followed by the address of the shop. Our office is staffed until 5:00pm every day and out doors do not lock until 5:00pm as well. We have called 4 times and the lady that answers isn't even at the shop, they have a 3rd party handle their phones; no one has EVER called back and no flowers have been picked up or delivered. We are now 3 days past Valentines and they best be prepared to make a new arrangement. I would not use this florist ever. read more

Day after day no flowers delivered to the home. No delivery after a week. Finally today flowers were delivered. This florist used to be a good florist. Do Not Order from them. NO STARS!!!!!! I grew up in Spokane and have sent flowers from many florists through the years all over the country. I decided to go with Gilded Lily because it was closest to my recipient and had pretty good reviews. I called on Dec. 23, 2016 to have an expensive arrangement sent to my cousin for her 80th birthday on Christmas Eve!!!! 80!!! How often does someone turn 80!!!!!! Not only did Gilded Lily never contact me with a problem, they never even tried to contact my Cousin! Needless to say, Gilded Lily never delivered ANYTHING to my cousin on Christmas Eve. I didn't realize it until yesterday when it occurred to me to ask my cousin how she liked the flowers. When I called back to express my disappointment to Gilded Lily, I was assured that I would receive a call immediately. Nothing yet. At least they never charged my credit card but I am lying in wait just in case! Since I am an attorney, it breached the contract and the order is invalid. If you want flowers to get to someone for a special occasion, I would suggest you NEVER USE GUILDED LILY!!!!! read more

My husband ordered flowers for me from this place. First of all, if they don't have base access to Fairchild, they should probably say so when the order is placed. He intended these flowers as a surprise for Valentine's Day, but this was spoiled as the delivery driver wasn't allowed access on base and had to leave them at the visitor's center. He also specified that he wanted an arrangement with stargazers (lillies) as those are my favorite flowers. They brought me plain white lillies. Also, these lillies were already halfway dead when I received them and were stinking up my living room less than 24 hours later. I would love to give them zero stars but since that's not an option (and the vase was cool), one star it is. I would never recommend these "florists" to anyone other than my worst enemy. read more

I bought an orchid lei for my boyfriend here for his graduation earlier this month. Being the procrastinator I am, I waited til the last minute but thank goodness I found this place in Spokane. It was the only place that did flower leis. Toi was extremely helpful in ordering the flower necklace and expediting the order from Hawaii to make sure it was delivered on time for the big day. I was very impressed with her service and kindness. The orchids were beautiful and I was satisfied with the double purple lei. I wouldn't have been able to do it without Toi's help. It was a pretty tall order, I needed to find a florist who would deliver a bouquet of flowers with a balloon to my mother at the Cathay Inn on North division. I live in Oregon so I was calling around to different places trying to find a florist who could deliver on very short notice. I called six florists (One actually laughed at me!) before I found The Gilded Lily. They put together a beautiful bouquet and delivered it within an hour and a half!!! No, the dozen roses were finally delivered at 8;00 PM on Mother's Day. When I called to talk the situation over with him, he offered a nebulous 'credit' to some future business, and then, hung up on me! Do not use this place. I ordered a pretty arrangement for my parents for Christmas eve because we couldn't be with them and it was never delivered. It was a guaranteed delivery for that day too and was around 60.00. She never got them of course. No phone call, no nothing. I called them on Christmas day to see what happened because my credit card had been billed and I got an answering service with some guy who didn't speak English and didn't understand what I was saying! Very frustrating to say the least. They said they would contact the florists and they would then contact me. I never heard from them. They tried to deliver it late today on the 28th of Dec but they weren't home and left a card saying they missed them. I specifically said to leave with a neighbor if not home. When they saw it they called the number and got an answering service telling them that they would have to come down to the shop and pick them up themselves! They're handicapped and 75 years old!
