I stopped taking the pharmaceuticals that are meant to be taken until death and offered no hope for recovery. Eventually, I decided to visit Elaine and take a different path. Elaine noticed my positive Lyme tests and she said let's go after that first. We did. It's a long road but there is improvement and hope. Elaine takes the time, listens and makes appropriate suggestions. I recommend Elaine and her team at Holistic family healthcare without reservation. Randa and Lee in the office handle everything else professionally and with aplomb. I actually look forward to a doctor visit. And get information that I wouldn't at the typical doctors office. Thank you Elaine.

Elaine hardy, MS, RN, APN, C; is not just an amazing medical professional, she is one of those caring and intuitive physicians from a bygone era. It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. Instead, she would lay out the options to my family and allowed us to make the decision that best suited my body. Elaine then supported us throughout our chosen treatment protocol. I still have clean cancer numbers 4 1/2 years after having a 3 1/2 pound, triple-negative tumor removed in a mastectomy. When most doctors didn't think I'd make it off the surgery table, Elaine stayed supportive of our family. In the end, I survived the cancer. I am still dealing with the severe neurological disease that put me in a wheelchair as a paraplegic but even in what seems like a dead-end condition, we are seeing small steps forward. Elaine worked with all my illnesses from the beginning, helping me to find ways to deal with the pain, looking for new treatment methods when the old ones weren't working and giving me hope for the future. She never gives up on you, she just keeps on working to find the answers. Her knowledge is amazing and she is willing to think 'outside the box' in trying to find the root cause of your issues instead of treating symptoms, something that is difficult to find in the medial field these days. She looks for the layers that so often are involved in illness instead of a short-cut version that usually keeps one feeling...just good enough, instead of great! After seeing literally dozens of specialist, I have never met another medical professional that I hold in as high of esteem as I do Elaine. No matter where we are in the country, we find our way back to Elaine. It is because of her knowledge and support in helping us deal and work through both the cancer and the neurological issues that I am here to write this recommendation right now. If you are seeking a qualified and caring Holistic Professional, look no further. You will not be disappointed in Elaine Hardy.

"Understanding Women" no more! I've been a client here for almost 6 years now and always…read morerecommended this wonderful center to everyone I knew, even folks out of state. What once was such a comfortable and patient-focused atmosphere to the point where it felt like a spa (purple terry-cloth robes, lavender flameless candles, free samples of glycerin-free lubricant in the bathroom, information about how insurance works everywhere, clothing drops for expecting mothers, free emery boards, mirrors, and wristbands) has now been completely taken over by Atlantic Healthcare. Watching the whole thing happen over the last few years was so disheartening. Each employee from front desk to diagnostics to the amazing OB/GYNs themselves looked completely devastated by the change, from how it affected their computer systems to how they could effectively treat their clientele. Even my medication regimen has been dramatically altered because Atlantic won't allow it. Terrifying to think that big companies can buy out amazing local gems like this one and now my body is physically paying the price. The place looks gradually more run down each time I go, giving it that cold "hospital-feel" with Atlantic logos plastered over everything. Even the regular mailers clients used to get with updates are gone; I had no notification that these new OB/GYNS were coming in after Dr. Uzbay left. I can't imagine what the pay cuts were/are like for everyone. My heart goes out to Understanding Women and all of their loyal patients who are now at the mercy of a medical conglomerate who barely sees them as a statistic.

Dr. Geller is the finest and most highly skilled dermatologist in New Jersey…read more I have seen Dr. Geller several times, mostly for complications from treatment for cancer. I had severe radiation burns on my face, neck, and chest. Dr. Geller took one look at me, and prescribed medication that immediately healed and cleared up my skin. None of the doctors or nurse practitioners at the cancer center had ever heard of the medication, but you can bet they were taking notes so that they can prescribe it for their patients suffering from the same horrible side effects. Thanks to Dr. Geller I have seen a remarkable recovery. This was on my face after all. Dr. Geller's office is clean, bright, and cheerful. There is minimal waiting time to be seen, despite the fact that he has a very busy practice. His staff are warm and welcoming, and you feel relaxed as soon as the staff prepares your intake, and you are promptly seen by the doctor. They have a second location in Chester, if that is closer for you. There are female practitioners here as well, if that is your preference. The practice also sells med spa products and performs treatments for virtually every type of skin disorder. Dr. Geller looks like he was sent from Hollywood Central Casting. In other words he looks exactly as a doctor should. Tall with an almost regal bearing, he inspires confidence and exudes competence in his white lab coat!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I wanted so much to like this practice, but unfortunately I had…read morea truly awful experience with Midwives of NJ that left me feeling traumatized, dismissed, and completely disrespected. I switched to this practice halfway through my pregnancy, hoping for a more holistic and supportive approach to birth. What I received instead was negligent, unprofessional, and emotionally harmful care. During labor, the midwife failed to keep me or my husband informed, despite my birth plan explicitly stating that communication was important to me. When we asked what was going on, we were brushed off with, "Oh nothing, she's just being a naughty baby." Naughty? That's how they explain fetal distress? Got it. When my water broke and the fluid was green, I asked what that meant. I was told not to worry, but overheard her immediately tell her assistant that they needed to get the baby out ASAP. It was terrifying to be kept in the dark during such a critical moment. Thank God for my husband, who looked everything up and kept me informed. The midwife also never asked my permission before attempting to insert an internal fetal monitor... mind you something she had never done before. How do I know? Because she literally said "I never done this before. Could I try?" AND Instead of checking with me, she asked the OB resident if she could do it, and then proceeded to insert it incorrectly. For a full minute, they couldn't detect a heartbeat. I thought my baby was gone. Turns out she had attached the electrode to my vaginal wall. And rather than apologize, she laughed and said, "That doesn't have a heartbeat." I was horrified. She also told me to bear down during pushing. When I told her it didn't feel right for my body, she insisted: "That's the only way we're going to get her out. It's the most effective way -- listen to me." Bearing down made my heart rate spike and I felt incredibly unsafe. Then she had the audacity to tell me to calm down. The entire interaction was controlling, condescending, and dismissive of my bodily autonomy. Post-birth, I asked to keep my placenta for planting, and was told no because I had COVID. I clarified I wasn't planning to ingest it, just plant it in the garden. She responded, "No, it's dirty blood." Again, completely uncalled for and judgmental. She also wanted to suture me using a technique she had never done before, without my consent, until the OB stopped her. Postpartum support was just as bad. They said a midwife would visit the day after delivery, no one came. The next night, someone showed up at 9 PM, stayed for five minutes, and when I asked a question about latching, she told me to ask the hospital lactation consultant and left. At my 6-week follow-up, I asked for an IUD. When I asked if they use local anesthesia (because yes, that procedure can be painful), the midwife laughed and said, "You birthed a child, you'll be fine." They said they'd order the IUD and contact me when it came in -- weeks went by, nothing. I followed up multiple times, left a voicemail, and never heard back. Even the clinic environment was off-putting. Christian music playing in the waiting room made the space feel exclusionary and uncomfortable for those who don't share the same beliefs. All in all, this practice caused more stress than support. I left feeling like a burden instead of a person giving birth. My husband and I genuinely feel we would've had a better experience delivering on the side of the road than in the care of the midwife we had. I regret ever trusting this practice with my care and would never recommend them to anyone.

The midwife was very kind and warm. The physical exam was one of the more dignifying that I have experienced. I paid $75 up front, and then they billed my insurance for out-of-network. The claim was denied twice, and I thought they were crazy for persisting, but apparently that is just the insurance game. Finally my insurance company agreed to pay some more since there isn't any other midwifery practice considered in-network. I am glad they will be further compensated!
