We got food to go from here, though I wish we could've eaten in the restaurant. My friend and I split the Shroomilicious burger and it was phenomenal. We also had the truffle fries, which were very good...they were a little soggy, but I think that was due to the fact we got take out and had to reheat them. OMGGGGGG! So good! This was my first visit and will not be the last. My table ordered the truffle fries, I got the olive burger, my friend got chicken sliders which were a special, and my other friend got the skinny farmer wrap. We all ordered the pomegranate lemonade. Every single person in the restaurant was extremely friendly and you can just tell they love their work and are proud of what they do. They locally sourced as much as possible and even use biodegradable straws which was a big plus for me! The Gnarly Sauce which only 2 people know the recipe for, is the BOMB. I wanted to drink it. The burger was delish, extremely fresh, and the bun was buttered and toasted. We all loved our entire experience and we are happy to support this wonderful place!! PS. Big sloppy hamburgers that are perfection. I recommend a bib but the flavor is amazing! I typically never finish an order of fries but Gnarly's fries are seasoned extremely well. You can tell they keep their deep frier clean. They have a very nice patio to sit outside and enjoy your meal. Both the good and the bad is how sloppy the burgers are. Stopped here when we were in Montague, heard the burgers were good and they were. Food was great, service was timely and they are nice there. My wife had their standard burger and she liked hers too, I forget the name of the o e I tried (bacon and egg on it--Farmer something)--good stuff. GREAT burgers and chicken tenders. Rolled through town on the Tuesday after Xmas and found this spot. My wife and I both had the Gnarly Burger and loved them. She had it on a gluten free bun that was quite tasty. Our young daughter had the chicken and thought it was great. I don't want to know what's on the gnarly sauce for fear that I'd mess it up when trying to make it myself. I'd much rather return and enjoy it as made by the originators. We will be back for sure. Went there with the grandkids after reading the reviews and they were right! I had the olive burger which was perfect. Oldest grandson had a burger that should have been called the kitchen sink because it had everything on it. Can't remember the actual name of the burger but a 14 year old boy couldn't finish it. read more

Pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing. I had the brisket wrap and my husband had the original burger. The brisket wrap blew us away, the burger was good - my husband rated it an 8/10. We also got the loaded fries which were awesome! I will say that the space is very tiny, only 4-5 tables. Also no alcohol drinks which was slightly disappointing. We went to The Gnarly Heifer when another restaurant was closed around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, my son was here from San Diego and he got a burger and a chili dog, I got a cheeseburger and we split an order of fries with Gnarly sauce. Everything was awesome and tasted great! I'm not always a fan of fries but I loved their fries with the Gnarly sauce, they were shoestring fries and felt like a great snack! The burgers were smashed burgers and seasoned perfectly. I loved it and would definitely recommend this place to others. This is a small restaurant specializing in burgers and hot dogs. There is limited dining, but you could easily order and take-out from an inside window. The place is cute, quaint, and clean. I ordered the Gnarly Burger cuz I needed to try the Gnarly sauce. It did not disappoint! The burger was juicy and delicious and the bun was a perfect complement. The sauce was tangy but not overpowering and the cheese perfectly 'melty'. I appreciated the pickles and bacon with it's perfect thickness and crispness. I like to eat with my hands, and I needed everyone of my napkins. For over 50 years, my mom would have burger night EVERY Friday and fry up four-at-a time burgers in an old plug-in fryer she got as a wedding present The burgers here are just like that...hand-patted with crispy ends and melty cheese.
