I have always enjoyed pekadill's in the past. This was my first time that I've eaten there for a long while. This time we ordered two Italian/Club sandwiches with the Italian dressing on the side. We got them to go. When we got home to eat them ... both sandwich's (mine and and my daughter's) were so soggy that we threw them out. We ended up mading a frozen pizza. The server's there were nice girls. They seemed a little shy- however, they seem like they needed little training as they did not know the answers to several questions. As far as the ambience it's an old building from a roaring 40s theme decor and it's kind of neat inside. It is clean. They are all good people. I'm sure I just came in a bad time. I will go back and give them another try because of my past experience with them. Hopefully they can do it better next time. read more

I seriously just don't get the love for this place other than it's the only deli in the area. The sandwiches are just not that great. Basic run of the mill sandwich shop with okay sides. Massive menu and maybe that's one of the issues. Go to a smaller menu and perfect some classics. The chili is weak...I guess it's great for Midwest that doesn't understand good chili? It's a place I've tried several times and avoid unless a group gathering makes me go to be with friends or family. read more

Quaint Sandwich shop with a ton of options. I had the Sueben which was a light Rueben with coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious. All sandwiches had were good. The ice cream topped it off. No sugar added apple pie ice cream for a big win. I will visit again. While we finished they even cleared our plates. The Best Sandwich! Served on soft dark rye roll that was warm but not toasted. Great quality roast beef and all of the toppings and garnish were fresh. The service was great, as I was sitting outside in the shade in their beautiful patio. By the time I sat down and sipped my drink my sandwich came out. Excellent macaroni salad was my side dish. The clam chowder tasted like warmed up vanilla ice cream. Too sweet for my taste, I was told it was homemade. I am hoping something went wrong that day in the preparation, sugary clam chowder cannot be their goal. What a lovely lunch stop! The garden in back is adorable and there are several tables inside, both up front and in back of the restaurant. Service was incredibly friendly and efficient. Pekadill's is such a unique restaurant that features soups, salads, sandwiches and even ice cream! This unique spot has an outdoor garden area with several tables where you can eat and enjoy the beauty of a koi pond, green grass and beautiful flowers. If you stop on a rainy day, don't worry, there is also indoor seating. Pekadill's gets very busy during the spring and summer months, but don't let that discourage you from visiting! Although they can get very busy, the service is always great and your food will still be served within a reasonable amount of time. In regards to the quality of the food, I would say the sandwiches are incredible. Pekadill's always is generous with the ingredients so you definitely get what you pay for. They go heavy on the meats which is a win in my book! I have tried the chicken and dumpling soup and it was very slimy tasting unfortunately. But other than that I have no complaints about Pekadill's. They take credit/debit cards & there is plenty of street parking. On the recommendation of a friend my wife and I made a trip to Pekadill's. It was easy to find, just a few blocks off the Whitehall street. I was told that the customer ordered and paid at the counter which we did and headed outside to the many available seats in the garden in the back yard. Actually the whole backyard is a garden filled with many flowers and plants adding to the sunny pleasant ambience. Being away from the Main Street, it was a quiet place to get away and spend time together conversing. The bus staff delivered our food which was presented favorably. We got sandwiches and they were tasty but just ordinary. As we were leaving we saw the available ice cream but were shocked by the price, so we passed. The gentleman that suggested Piccadill's was pleased that the restaurant opened and served good food instead of the usual pizza fare. I don't believe we will make a special trip there again from Muskegon, but it was good to get away for a few hours to converse with my sweetheart. read more

Hansons restaurant In Whitehall, Michigan. I can hardly wait until a holiday season starts. Whitehall and Montague ,Michigan is a great resort town. Lots of small breweries. Great restaurants. Hanson's restaurant has a great variety of food, wine list and great. friendly service. My favorite is the perch dinner but everything on the menu including my son's favorite. as always, a nice big cheeseburger! During the summer months you can eat outside with umbrellas to keep the sun out of your eyes. Great place to go. Prices are okay and casual clothing is acceptable. Come to Whitehall, Michigan and enjoy our great two cities and the fact that White lake is close to Lake Michigan and is close to many other small lakes. Great for fishing but definitely come to Hanson's. They're always close by. They're wine list is absolutely great, and I can take the leftover wine home!! Such a hidden gem! We came by bicycle and ordered the French Dip and the Super Salad and were not disappointed. I got the potato salad as a side with my sandwich and while it was pretty good, the French dip was the star. Soft bread, melty cheese and lots of roast beef. I ordered the whole because I thought I was really hungry but couldn't finish it. Hubby got the Super Salad. Loads of turkey with lots of greens, sunflower seeds, cucumber and more that I can't recall. It was so big he had to get a to go container for later. Both meals with drinks was around $34 I believe. A little pricy for lunch, but the service and ambience were worth it. I can't wait to go back, I'm craving that French dip right now! read more

We stumbled upon this place leaving Electric Forest and our crew was starving. We stopped for what looked like some quick, hearty sandwiches and were happily surprised at the quality and the prices! The drink options were amazing and we sat on the beautiful patio that was so shaded and magical! We then finished with some of their ice cream selection and continued our journey home. This is a cute local deli with a gorgeous garden patio where you could enjoy your sandwiches or salad outdoor. It was truly a nice experience especially because the weather was good when we were there. Food wise, however, I felt like it was just decent, nothing to write home about. I relied on Yelp and ordered their "most popular" item: Chicken Salad Croissant Sandwich ($13 as of Sept 2022). While it was pretty good, but I was hoping to get more veggies in the chicken salad filling. I felt like I was missing some crunch (from lack of celery), freshness (from lack of chopped onion), and sweetness (from lack of chopped apple or grapes). So, overall, the croissant sandwich had a one-note taste and was almost too creamy because it was missing the all the ingredients to balance out the heaviness from mayonnaise. Then, I found that both of the sandwich picks on my sandwich were put upside down causing the colorful plasticky parts to get stuck in my sandwich when I tried to pull them out. This place very popular there wasn't a long line or anything. But they must've had three or four young women and a production line making sandwiches filling orders. We got a full rack rib dinner it was really awesome. I'll probably go back and get some sandwiches so we can hang out on the beach and have lunch on the lake today. The BEST! This is the cutest place in the whole world! They have a beautiful old fashion ice cream parlor in the front with tons of delicious flavors. And then the rest is EASILY.... the best spot to get a sandwich and soup in the state of Michigan! The breads are always soooo fresh, the meats and cheese are thin sliced, the sauces are insane, it's the whole package... it's consistently incredible every single time. It's the best part of going to Whitehall! The people who work here are just lovely and always are. I've been eating here for years and never had a bad experience. This was my first time here, and I'm so glad we stopped. My sister fondly remembered this place, as she lived in Whitehall for a while when she was a kid. She was SO EXCITED when she saw it was still here. Naturally, she pulled right in. This place is so charming. It's an adorable little vintage throwback, with black and white checkered floors and red and white striped walls. It's like stepping back in time, and I adored it. We didn't end up staying for a meal, unfortunately, but we did get some ice cream! I got myself a waffle cone of All Jacked Up Tennessee Toffee. I'm not ashamed to say I finished every last bite! I think it was somewhere around $4 and totally worth it. I recommend eating outside. There's a gorgeous garden in the back, with a pond and trees and a sand box area for kids. We ate back there, and it was really peaceful. I don't know if I'll ever be back here... But I certainly hope so! read more
