So glad we found this burger spot. By far the best smash burger I've ever had. I wish they would open one back home because this place would be poppin. This is an old school hamburger place. When walking in you will feel the vintage vibe with the old school menu board. Meanwhile you will hear the sizzle as folks are grillin and slingin burgers. The topping choices are perfect. I am drooling thinking about it lol. Perfectly cooked with that bit of char on the outside of the patty then moist deliciousness inside. But better yet we're their French fries dipped in their famous Mikey sauce, The burger joint was what you expect a "Burger Joint" meaning there wasn't much to brag about ... but it was clean. We went there on a whim while on a family trip and we were amazed by the quality of burgers. As a burger junky I was over the moon with joy! Oh by the way, don't forget about the fries, some of the best fries I've ever had and they give you an enormous amount of them too! The staff weren't rude but just kind of straight forward, I liked it though because they have a passion for it. The place is pretty cool inside decorated with the fake magazine covers of Hamburger Mikey. They have some seating and chairs against the wall counter top. First time customer at the Spring Lake location. Had two great burgers, and an order of fries. Zero complaints, 100% will return to try new burgers. Both burgers we ordered were fast, and fresh, great, but be careful with additional condiments as it can get slippery. You don't need to drown your burger there, it is good as is. Burger of the month is super cool, not for me this month but I'll check each month for something new. Very few items on the menu but I love that they specialize in what they do best, it's refreshing. Tonight I was craving a burger and fries, and a friend said "I have just the place". We ended up at Hamburger Mikey's.. a local, family owned and operated place in Muskegon that was absolutely delicious. Made to order burgers (fresh, never frozen) and fresh cut french fries are what this place does... and they do it well. I ordered the Original with bacon and american cheese and an order of french fries and a coke. My meal came to about 12 bucks, which I didn't think was too bad. The only complaint.. they were cutting french fries while we were there, and it's a rather loud experience if you're sitting in the back near the slicer. read more

Just a note. I'm late writing this review. I went in early May when everything was still takeout. I have been meaning to try this place for the last 2 or 3 years, due to I kept seeing it pop up in best burger lists. I love burgers so I knew I needed to try. They had the whole takeout down to a science. Go in and order or phone in your order, pay and give a description of vehicle, and they bring it out to you when done. It took approximately 10 minutes. I then went to the beach to eat and enjoy the view of the lake. I got the big burger with Chipotle mayo and BBQ sauce. The burger was very good. We made the dog very mad because we wouldn't share. Now to me the burger was very good and probably Top 10. However it wasn't spectacular. It's not knocking on Top 5, even on a just West Michigan list. Part of this may be me. I prefer a thick burger to multiple skinny patties. The price was very very and if you order fries you get about as many as Five Guys gives you. My Aunt also loved her smaller burger, more than me. The service was outstanding. Overall to me I'll give 4 1/2 stars, however since I need to round it'll be 4. Would I return? Yes if I was in the area. read more

Burger was not very good and they forgot about our order after waiting for 20 minutes and then the guy asked to see our receipt and then reprinted the ticket. We saw they were listed as one of the top 10 french fries restaurants in Michigan. We were not disappointed. Ordered 2 burgers with our choice of many different toppings. I thought we would split the $5 large fries....so glad the cashier told us the $3 small fries served 2....we couldn't finish 1/2 of the order. Good burger. All the unhealthy things that you definitely don't need, but still sound really good. Short menu that keeps it simple. Love all the dipping sauces for fries. Burgers are big and messy, just the way I like them. You can order in-store and they'll bring your food out to your car when it's ready. I like their monthly collaboration burger that they do with local ingredients from other area restaurants. Just writing about it makes me hungry so I'd better stop here. My only complaint is that I wish their shakes were better-they taste cheap like from a gas station and have limited flavors. read more

Such a fantastic place for sliders and fries! They keep it simple with their offerings (eg, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes) but blow the roof off with flavorful sauces. Amy time I can choose from half a dozen aiolis/ dipping sauces for fries, I am in heaven. The fries are a ridiculously large portion of super salty, crunchy addictiveness. Just try not to finish the entire massive bag. Old fashion shakes so thick you can't use a straw. And the most accommodating staff. They happily offered to open fresh bags of produce (lettuce, tomatoes) to serve my teens who can a severe wheat allergy (to prevent cross contamination from handling wheat buns). Couldn't eat the my burger! It was horrible. Ordered it without onions because they make me sick to my stomach. After a few bites i realized that there were onions mixed in with the burger patty. Waste of money!! If someone orders a burger without onions the staff should inform them about the onions in the burger patty itself!!! read more

I could taste everything that I put on it (pepper jack, grilled onions and olives). My hubby had hamburger with ketchup and pickles (completely classic). Definitely a place that you need to stop and get a great burger from a bunch of good guys. This place is unique, loud, and fun. The burgers are delicious and I'm sure in all of the other reviews the fries are plentiful. You will go in here hungry and you will leave stuffed. I can guarantee that. The owners work the counter, and they also walk around and check with their customers to make sure that everything is to their satisfaction. We had one night in Muskegon recently and a friend had told us to find this little burger joint. This is the type of place you just wouldn't know about without a recommendation (or Yelp). Worth the trip. We rolled in around 7pm on a friday evening finding the restaurant about 3/4 full. After asking the staff about the burger options, we went with the single patty selection and added bacon and cheese plus the house sauce (good). We were very happy with the burgers and content with the size. If we were truly hungry, taking the double patty pick would be a good call. I'd say the burger probably scores a 4-4.25 out of 5 stars. We shared the small sized fries (served in a bag) and it was plenty for 2 adults. I'd give the stringy style fries 3-3.5 stars. A little too soggy for my liking. Could've used some salt, too (none on the table). Appreciated the staff member (one of the cooks) coming out to see if we were happy with the meal and to let him know if he could get anything for us. Nice touch. Overall good experience and I would definitely recommend to a friend. read more

September is lobster burger month! I chose the Mikey's cheeseburger. What I noticed first off was the the lettuce is shredded and applied to the bottom and top of the burger. A very good burger, but a little messy. Have lots of napkins. One order of fries will do you for two people. All hand cut, they were great!. Incredible, greasy, you will leave full. Hamburger Mikey makes a good burger and fries for a good value. The regular fries are massive and can easily be a side for at least 3 people if not more. They are thin cut too and pair wonderfully with their sauces. My personal favorites are the Mikey Sauce and Truffle Aioli.
