I chose to host a small team event with The Go Game and it was a blast! With team events, I'm always trying to find a super interactive experience without being too cheesy. The Go Game's production hit it right on the spot. To start, the booking and payment system is incredibly straightforward and easy. I booked a consultative call with them and they were incredibly responsive, prepared with helpful materials, and a pleasure to work with. I initially wanted to book their escape room experience, but after explaining what I was targeting, they recommended their virtual game show. Following payment and finalizing the schedule, they send over a dashboard that allowed me to see details about my upcoming event, answer some questions to help them prepare for the game show, and also view photos afterwards. In the day of our virtual game show, we had Bonnie Rose as our host and we had such a great time. I just completed my 4th Go Game experience. Previously I had done these with my work colleagues but this one was with a group of friends for a birthday party. It was so much fun. Even guests that I thought might be shy or reticent absolutely loved it. One of the things that I love about the Go Game is that you can put together a team of people who barely know each other or a team that's quite close and they will have an equally amazing experience. We had our event on June 19th at Jack London Square for our new internal medicine residents. Matt was our host/facilitator and everything ran smoothly. We recently did an event in Austin and I'm not sure if the issue was the format our company got but it was underwhelming. The game consisted of following some clues on your phone and answering questions. The scavenger hunt was ok, some of the elements felt were old or could be better designed. There was 0 interaction with external people, neither in person or remotely through the app, so it felt like just answering trivia, in other similar event that I had participated actors from the game would bring you into the game but that was not part of this. Only one person in the team is supposed to be holding the phone so some people were just standing around. The biggest issue is that the game had no surprising/exciting ending, as teams made it back to the ending point a winner was announced (again by someone in our own company) and that was it, we didn't get to see what the other teams answered or the funny videos they produced during the game. In out case some teams hadn't even made it back and when they arrived they were all confused about what had happened or who had won. Seems to me that they took the remote too far... read more

Our office had done the Go Game in 2018. When I started to plan our activities for 2019, our staff was hopeful we would be able to do it again this year. We did the mini-game scavenger hunt which was so fun! There were many silly challenges that definitely encouraged team building and fun cross office. We had 6 team of 5 for our small office of approx. 30 people. Hale, our game producer, was really responsive to our office's needs and was quick to enact any changes/additions we thought would be fun to add to the game! There are many team building companies out there but none like The Go Game. We most recently worked with them on a 300 person team building activity. They custom built a scavenger hunt for us at an offsite in San Diego. Our employees had such an amazing time and really let loose. The best part was the finale at the end. The Go Game does a comedic wrap up of the best/funniest moments from the day and awards the winning teams with silly prizes. Wait for it, wait for it... GO! Today, if you were in Downtown SF, you may have spotted me as Trinity along with the Matrix gang building a human fountain called "Golden Showers" or doing tai chi. Or you could have spotted Mario, Luigi and co., a gaggle of Snuggies or Nish clones running around like it was Halloween. Yes, today 200 Yelployees were let loose in their awesomely ridiculous costumes playing The Go Game. (Check out some of the team photos I've posted here.) This could be my favorite company offsite yet! I love scavenger hunts, probably because I am ALWAYS down to embarrass myself in public. We had tons of fun executing our missions. Each team received a cell phone that provided us with clues to every destination. We'd have to either take photos or videos of our mission with the camera they also provided. Be creative, because the points you accrue with every challenge and trivia question won't be the only thing that determines who wins. At the end, we were led to our viewing party location and our favorite challenge was shown to the rest of the teams who voted on them. The Go Team put the videos together with funny music they selected and the emcee did a great job entertaining us. So, Team Yelptrix didn't make it into the top 7 teams, but we're pretty sure it was because of the crappy LG phones they gave us. The trick with those phones? If you lose network connection, close it and open it back up. It'll save you lots of precious points. I think something fishy went on with the final votes too, because I know certain teams should have gotten way more points than others based on audience reaction... GO Team! read more

The Go Game is very well put together. A fun event for friends, colleagues, and parties. You use a smartphone to run around the cities to collect clues--kinda like amazing race w/o a camera crew following you. Overall, I had fun, but why not 4 or 5 stars? 1) Super PRICEY! $120/person (for about 3.5 hours) 2) One of the "hidden actors" asked us to buy him a drink and appetizers...I think that's kinda uncalled for unless Go Game is willing to reimburse us for expenses. Overall, great company and very well organized, but probably will not go back. It was nice to see people out of their serious environment and acting all goofy all around SF. read more

So you know the movie "The Game" with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. I totally felt like I was in it during our company offsite this past Thursday.... The Go Game handed my team of cowboys/cowgirls a phone with clues and trivia that led us all over SF. It was a blast, although the probably with doing this in a somewhat strange city like San Francisco is that it's kind of difficult to determine who's part of the game and who's not. I had my doubts although apparently the woman who made us hum in a circle, lit incense, and told us clues about a 14 yr old womanzing boy named Fred who was reincarnated as Jesus was part of the game. And the bum who sidetracked us for 10 min begging for money was NOT part of the game. Whoops! Definitely the most technically advanced scavenger hunt I've ever been in and a great bonding experience. And our game didn't turn out to be nearly as dangerous as Michael Douglas's game...phew! read more

I was on team "Ruggy's Snuggies" and although we didn't place in the top 7 teams, we had a blast... I bonded with some fellow employees that I didn't know before, and got my exercise in running all around the city to accomplish our 'missions.' I'd always wondered what it would be like to participate in an "Amazing Race" type of Urban Adventure, and thanks to you... now I know! My company celebrated our 20 year anniversary this month and I was in charge of organizing a fun team bonding event. Half of the team works remotely, so we had to take advantage of having everyone in town. I initially worked with Jessica to coordinate details and sign the contract. From there I was put in touch with John who assisted with the details leading up to the event and was our Game Host on the actual day. There are several different types of "games" you can choose and my company decided on the Classic Go Game. It's pretty much a scavenger hunt based at a certain location. Since we are located in the South Bay, our game location options were Los Gatos or Santana Row. The actual game time (out and about) is about 90 minutes long. Everything is within walking distance, so you don't have the drive anywhere (think Amazing Race minus the travel). Even though the locations are within a few blocks of each other, it still requires a decent amount of walking, and in some cases running if your team get's competitive! The game starts off with the game host explaining how everything works. You are divided into teams and within each team you pick a team leader. From there you are given a box with a phone and camera. You receive updates regarding missions via the cell phone and you use the camera to document each mission (photos or videos). Points are acquired several ways: - By completing a mission (the more you do, the more points you get). Different missions are worth different amounts of points, however you are not able to skip missions. - Trivia. Random multiple choice questions will appear on the phone throughout the game. Be sure to get the answer right! - Judging. After everyone finishes and regroups at the end location, the game host takes all the footage and each team gets to vote on how well they think the other teams did. Be creative and/or funny during the missions because those points will help determine the winner! The whole game takes about 3-4 hours depending on how much footage there is to view. Our company only had 3 teams so we were done in 3 hours. They also provide some pretty fun prizes! One thing I will warn, is there are some missions that will require you or your team to do publicly embarrassing things. Nothing that's offensive or inappropriate (think silly), but definitely some things that will push people in terms of their comfort level. Overall, it was a great experience and I appreciate how flexible and accommodating everyone from the Go Game was. read more

I highly recommend the Go Game for a team building event. It is way better than a trip to bowling or bocce ball or the other usual suspects for team events. Think of it as a scavenger hunt on steroids or a more generous way to describe it would be like a mini Amazing Race (tv show). You are broken into teams and made to do a variety of activities which for us included dancing the "Thriller" dance on the street, writing and leaving love notes for random people, hitting on people at the bar etc. All in good fun and everyone had a blast. He was very organized, creative, and timely with his preparation up to the event (even though he was late day of due to an accident-definitely recommend adding extra time for travel since our group was on an agenda). I was unable to attend the event I set-up however my team absolutely loved it! This event was for my international team of about 45 people. We had folks from all over the world and all were able to understand, participate, and enjoy the game.
