Don't waste your time with this company. Had a terrible experience working with Luis. He was 10 minutes late to our first meeting with no heads up. I had to email him that we were waiting for him to start the zoom. I let this slide the first time because things happen. But when we had a second meeting with him he was 15 minutes late AGAIN with no heads up and I had to email him again that we were waiting for him to start the zoom. He tried to shrug it off and made the excuse that things run late. At this stage we still had questions about the proposal that he really only half answered. We were really confused with the proposal. He explained to us they work by estimating the cost of all the components of your event and that's what you pay them plus an exorbitant fee. Like if we're paying $4K for lounge furniture, they won't give you details on what exactly you're getting before you pay them. After we asked for an updated proposal with our asks, he emailed back that our date was booked and they couldn't help with our event. The audacity. (Mind you, we were about to shell out $20K for a 40 person picnic for 4 hours.) He gave us zero warning or heads up that our date could have been booked or was not on hold for us. This was a huge waste of time and left us back at square one with only 3 weeks left to plan our company event. The way Luis have conducted himself was extremely unprofessional. I would expect for someone who is the founder of the company to have sound business practices and better client management skills. read more

Luis and his team are amazing and really helped make my company picnic a huge success! I have a very busy work life. So when asked to plan an AMAZING team building activity for our team of 35 people during the busy holiday season, I knew I had to reach out for some help. I came across Blue Barley by doing a google search of "team building activities in SF" The website was super simple to use. You type in the date of your event, city and number of guests. You are then directed to another page which asks you what type of event you are planning and trust me, they've got everything covered from Team Buildings to Corporate Dinners and the site even has an option for you to create a custom event, so they can handle it all. Once you enter all your information, you are directed to a page with different options. At the top of the page, you enter your budget and all options within your price range will pop up. They have everything on there from Boating, Wine Blending, Bowling, Brewery Take Overs, Golf, nice lunches or dinners and so much more. It actually gets the wheels turning on all the fun events you can do for your team! I submitted a request for a Brewery Takeover or a Wine Blending Team Building Experience. I submitted 2 separate requests just cause I was not sure what to expect. Within a few hours, I received an email from Luis. Luis suggested we set up a time for us to speak on the phone so he can get the most details about our event as possible. Luis was energetic, and super customer service oriented. He asked me a series of questions about the event and even suggested a few other ideas for our team. I did let him know that I had another venue that I had already been in touch with and he was able to give me a lot of information on that venue as well. He did let me know that I did not need to submit 2 different requests, so if you are overwhelmed by the options presented, just pick one and let Luis know once he gets in contact with you. After our phone call, Luis got back to me in another 24 hours with different options. He was able to present photos of each venue and different pricing options. With further discussion and with Luis already getting a great idea of what our group is like, I decided to move forward with the wine blending activity. I decided to go with Blue Barley over the venue I had contacted directly for a number of different reasons. 1. Luis found a place that was within my budget (even with the small administrative fee, 2. Luis handled everything from reaching out to different venues, site visits, working with my personal caterer that I had hired for the event, 3. He handled all planning, logistics, phone calls, etc. The small fee they charge saves you time from doing all the extra legwork. The day of the event, Luis was there to make sure everything was properly set up, the caterer was on time, and that everything was ready for us when we arrived. Again, another thing I would have done on my own. Our event went flawlessly and everyone on our team had a great time. The best part was that I had actually researched the venue beforehand and they were booked, but since Blue Barley has a great relationship with the venue, they were able to squeeze us in. Just a quick FYI, Blue Barley does not disclosure the name of the venue until you book the event through them but I can tell you the venue chosen for us was beautiful and fit every single one of our teams needs. I highly recommend Blue Barley to anyone who has a very busy job or life and needs most the extra work taken off their shoulders. They will save you a ton of time and allow you to do all the other things in your busy work life. It was nice to know that Luis was on top of every single detail. I only had about a week and a half to plan something on top of all my regular work, so this worked out really nicely.
