We had a few minor issues but discussed them with the staff and seemed to be better. Our biggest problems started when our son was moved into the 2 year old room. The teachers in that room were nice but very young and the only reason i mention age is they didn't seem to have a lot of experience. Our son spoke at home but we only learned months after our son had been in the class that he didn't say anything while there not even "Hi" or other little words.He started acting out and that was when it finally came out that he did not speak. I've never been a child educator or worked in daycare but having been around many younger children i know by two most kids say at least a few words. The teachers said they were trying to work with our son after they learned he did speak at home but we made the decision to eventually leave the daycare. The staff was friendly and said things we wanted to hear but many were very young and looked to me for ideas on things to try. We were told their class followed a schedule everyday but whenever I was in the building it seemed to be just playing. Having boys i've found that structure has definitely been more beneficial to them for learning than play based. We put our son in another daycare that seemed to be more structured and once our son became more comfortable he was speaking in class and the new class was definitely a better fit. This school does some special programming for the kids which is nice but definitely could use a bit more variety with different teachers and their experience level.

While she was there I always knew she was in excellent hands, I never worried. Mrs. Dawn and her staff were always so caring and professional and very attuned to each child's individual needs and habits. Not only did they help build my daughter's social growth but her academic growth as well. I knew this while she was a student there but now that she is in pre-k and I am really noticing how well she is adjusting academically and socially. We had our kids attend Toddler University Preschool, LLC for about 5 years. The director/owner is friendly and kind offering a preschool with love and passion like no other! Everything you would want to hear, even offering extra curricular activities like yoga, karate, animal experiences, zumbini, and a big firehouse graduation! My kids had the time of their lives. Creating friendships that last a lifetime. Friendships. Not just between the kids also between the parents. We have met a multitude of people in this business. Where you can message another parent and feel like you have known them your whole life. But something changed. Communication and my kid had meltdowns at drop off, but everything was "fine" when I ask how my child was during the day. But clearly my child did not think so. Being almost the oldest family attending and loyalty means nothing to a small business like this. Receiving a 30 day notice with no explanation (contract says no explanation can be given) other than "personal reasons" came to a shock. I was told to keep personal life and business separate and not let them mix. Payments we made rearly, participated school events, accepting of any changes to policies. There were no issues there. Once I received the 30 day notification (by text), at drop off/pick up I wasn't greeted by the owner anymore. I was greeted by the assistant teachers. I had questions and needed clarification, but I was told not to bring this topic up to her or the assistants (needed to relay messages and was not physically present) and not to reach out to other families because it wasn't "my place." As a mother it is my right to know what is happening with my child in someone else's care and why is it only happening to my child. When you think you know somebody better than your family, it's like getting stabbed in the back with a dagger. It hurts, but time will pass and will heal. After experiencing this. I would highly not recommend Toddler University Preschool, LLC. I don't want anyone experiencing rejection from a caregiver to your child with no explanation of any sorts, regardless of loyalty.

She was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in pointing me to several camps. I didn't feel overwhelmed at any point even though there are hundreds of camps that are out there (and every mom out there has an opinion). I felt like Allison took the time to get to know me and my daughter and put a lot of thought into her introductions. I was able to use her as a sounding board and I felt her insight was incredibly helpful. She made the entire process easy and I always know I have a great resource for the future.

When 3/4 of the parents at this school had enough and decided to leave, the director would belittle and send out manipulating and unprofessional emails. The school had great teachers, but most of the teachers had a mass exodus from getting tired of the unprofessionalism shown by management. They also did not follow their own set of rules in their own handbook about giving deposits back. A vast amount of families had been owed next years deposits but the school decided to not abide by their own rules, leaving these families out of a lot of $. Our time spent here, was way too drama filled for a preschool! I would not recommend going here.

I have been a parent in the Davenport community for the past two years and my son is starting his…read more3rd year tomorrow. We are VERY excited!!! Before sending my son to Davenport, I visited A LOT of preschools. I can say that I couldn't find a stronger preschool or a better preschool for my son than Davenport. My husband and I are very picky and I can tell you that our son has thrived so much in this learning environment. Our son is a stronger critical thinker, more curious about lots of new ideas and concepts, and most important to us a better human because of his experience at Davenport. Obviously, as parents we talk to him about being kind and compassionate but Davenport helped him live out the principles we've been teaching him in his inclusive classroom. Our son has been exposed to students with learning differences and he's learned how to be in community with all types of learners. We are so grateful for that. I know that he will be a better community member in his next environment because of the exposure he received at Davenport. Additionally, our experience with the leadership has been very positive. When we first toured the school, we shared that we may have a foster child in our care due to the some challenges facing a family member. Liz and the team were incredibly supportive and were open to that possibility. I was so grateful for that. While the young boy didn't come to live with us, I had comfort and slept better at night knowing that if he had come, he would have had a home at Davenport. I also appreciated how forthright and transparent the leadership was when the Towson campus closed. I can only imagine how difficult that situation was for Liz and the team but I appreciated how they shared information about the campus closure and transition to Sparks before our enrollment forms were due. They had multiple parent meetings, made themselves available for individual meetings, and stayed in constant contact with the Towson community. I couldn't have asked for more out of the team. And they did all this while dealing with their own experiences of loss. Because of our previous research, it wasn't even a question. We were going to Davenport Sparks! And we made that decision even though my husband has a 90 minute commute to pick up our son in the evening. I have also found them to be incredibly supportive of my son. They have always put him in the right classes to foster his development. They really know what they are doing when they pair students with teachers and they set up classes. Each child has a different personality and yet I have always found they have the right mix and my son always has a great community of students and a great teacher. I have loved his teacher each and every year!!! Finally, I have found the leadership to be very open. For example, diversity in the student body and faculty is very important to me. I've shared my commitment to diversity and the importance of diversity. The leadership took my commitment to heart and I am so proud of the increased diversity I've seen in the school community over the past few years. I honestly cannot write enough positive things about Davenport and the team there. I am so grateful and I cannot imagine what I would do without them.

This IS a call out post. It's been a decade since I've graduated from the elementary school. I…read moreliked it. Almost every teacher was wonderful. However, if Ms. Ondo is still working there, she needs to retire immediately. She should have been fired a long time ago. She was rude, she singled out kids for very little reason. She'll scream at kids for getting an answer wrong. It's a very discouraging environment for kids. I know many other kids at the time that were too afraid to even be engaged in the class. It's obviously that she doesn't like kids so she needs to stop teaching.

I like the way the school has an app that you can follow your childs progress throughout the day, and they send out alerts about everything that is going on with your child. Very accommodating for Pre-K as they assist your child in e-learning, a feat which is already hard on school age kids. Lunch is served every day and it's always something different every day.
