We highly recommend Goddard School of Gaithersburg for anyone seeking a nurturing, stimulating, and educational child care. As a former elementary school teacher, I wanted my child in a bright, caring, environment. As parents, we wanted him to get the academic, social and emotional stimulation and support along with much creative play in one child care from toddler to start of public school. As parents, we believe in Goddard's philosophy of learning through fun and play. The owners, Jim and Jill Worley and the Director, Heather Kramer get to know each child and together along with the staff, run a top-notch child care. There is open communication between staff, owners and parents and we always felt informed. If a call needed to be made to us parents, Jim would always start the conversation with "Your child is fine", which always put us at ease because as parents when you get a call from the Day Care owner, you can't help but think, "Is my child okay?" We were impressed with the curriculum, the teachers, and the method of teaching. Sign language, Spanish, yoga, movement and music are all part of the curriculum. Many other child care facilities do not offer these or you pay extra for the special classes. The facility has a gym so the children have room to move even when the weather is bad. Our child attended kindergarten at Goddard since he missed the public school cut off by about two months. Goddard's Kindergarten is Maryland approved and accredited, in addition to keeping with their education philosophy of learning through play and creativity. Public school K has very little time for play; much more sitting at a desk and is academically driven. Our child was ready socially, academically and emotionally to start Kindergarten through MCPS after Goddard. He got an edge academically by attending Goddard School of Gaithersburg before public school. It was a general consensus agreed among many of the parents of his former Goddard classmates. Our child remains friends with many of his former Goddard classmates and the parents stay connected through Facebook and LinkedIn. Since we chose a child care in Gaithersburg where we live, our son has reconnected with former classmates through playing local sports, saw them at summer and winter camps and continue to have play dates with friends he met at Goddard School. 5 Stars/thumbs up! read more

We can't say enough about The Goddard School in Gaithersburg! From the owners to the administrative staff to each teacher and assistant; we've found the school to be incredibly well run and a loving and enriching environment for our 2 year old daughter. The school takes child development seriously but does it through a fun, play-based curriculum that kept our child excited and engaged each day. As working parents, we also appreciated the clear and timely communication from the school whenever our child was not feeling well or needed additional attention for any reason. The school handles classroom transitions almost seamlessly allowing the students to get to know their future classmates and teachers gradually and making for a very smooth move from one class to the other. We see the owners and administrators daily and their offices are right at the front door to the school making them easily accessible for quick questions at drop-off or pick-up time. When we talked to our daughter's teachers each day, it is clear that they've taken the time to get to know her personality and they always have an update on her growth in areas from potty training to other new skills. Unfortunately, we had to move out of the area, but we wouldn't otherwise have hesitated to keep our daughter at The Goddard School in Gaithersburg for years to come. I have been very happy with my experience at The Goddard School Gaithersburg. I have experience with other schools -- and the difference is notable. Goddard makes learning really fun. My favorite part of any day is when one of my kids will tell me something, just casually in regular conversation, and it is 100% something they learned in school, remembered, and applied in real life. It's so stinking cute. There is no doubt the children learn good educational habits early on, providing them with a foundation they will rely on to succeed in the future. All that said, my favorite thing about the school is everyone who works there. Mrs. Worley, one of the owners, is there almost all the time. The admin staff knows every single student - and their entire family - by name it seems (it really is bizarrely impressive), and the teachers love being there. Two-thumbs up! read more

We have nothing but good things to say about the Goddard School. We enrolled our son in Pre-K and now he is in kindergarten - in both classes his teachers have been excellent. They have demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication to the children. Our son could not have gotten better teachers. While at Goddard our son's reading, writing, and mathematics skills have improved significantly. Our son is now reading at a high level compared to his age and has also progressed socially. Finally the owners (Mr and Mrs Worley) are excellent as well as the support staff. They are very helpful when we have questions and demonstrate the same committment to the children. In conclusion we are very pleased with the Goddard School. We can only hope our son will continue to receive such high quality care and education when he enters the public school system. read more

We have been so happy with Goddard and have full trust in their program and teachers! Our eldest started in 2018 at 18 mths and graduated in 2023 at 5 yo. She entered prepared for elementary school both socially and academically. We know her strong reading, writing and math skills are due to the programming she had at Goddard. Our youngest is now at Goddard, starting at 6 mths old and now about 3 yo. We knew with out a doubt that we wanted her to follow in her sister's footsteps. She goes to school happy to see her teachers and friends. It is beautiful to see the community that is established in the classroom and how the kids develop trust and friendships. My daughter feels loved, nurtured and has tons of fun learning with the curriculum provided. It is hard to put into words our appreciation for The Goddard School of Gaithersburg! Our daughter's teachers have been absolutely amazing, and she loves them. They make her feel comfortable, loved, and supported. As parents, this is naturally the most important thing for us. But it's not just that--she comes home and does math for fun, sits down and writes her letters with ease, plays chess, and does yoga. All of this is her initiative, and she enjoys it thoroughly. We truly could not have hoped for a better school! On the administrative side, communication has always been prompt and clear. We are in awe of how well everything is organized and maintained. We've had a great experience with The Goddard School of Gaithersburg! From the very beginning, the staff was welcoming and supportive as our two young children (ages 2 and 4) transitioned into their new environment. This is really a phenomenal school. My kids have thrived and learned so much in a very limited time span. The teachers are committed to make the kids utilize their max potential and have fun in the process. I just wish they were not so expensive, but I also admit that you get an amazing service - probably the best - for what you pay. One critical plus to me is the direct access I have to communicating any issues with the owner and school director. They are terrific and very sensitive to our needs as parents.
