I'm truly surprised with our experience at this center. I toured several centers before finally selecting one. Tara was amazing, quick in answering questions and understood my time is valuable. Valarie is always friendly in the morning and I cannot say enough about the teachers in the Octo room, Ms. Taylor & Ms. Stephanie. Our family has been with the Goddard school in Geist for years now. Sending both boys has been nothing but the best . Ms, Valerie, Ms. Tara are the phenomenal core to this establishment. The communication and genuine compassion they have for each child is commendable and inspirational. Ms. Liz has been beyond amazing to our youngest three year old who was the pivotal moment in our short potty training journey. Less than a week. My son has been going here full time since January. He started out in the "Tiny Turtles" class (1yr old - 1.5yr old) and is now in the "Playful Puppies" class (2 - 2.5yrs old). The turnover rate for the teachers does seem incredibly high but from what we gathered at other daycares we toured, this is normal. As he had never been to daycare before when he started in January (he was 15mo old when he started), we expected that he would likely get sick a lot. "A lot" was an understatement. He started and the height of flu season hit. He was sick for most of the first three to four months and then on and off since then. However, as we were told by coworkers and friends, it can take up to a year for a kid's immune system to catch up. Sure enough, he has been improving immensely recently. Our son has learned SO MUCH in 9 months. He seems to really like most of the staff. Valerie (usually in the front office) is especially awesome and he's really attached to her. I hope they pay her enough so she doesn't ever leave. She's irreplaceable. read more

The Goddard School is our son's second daycare center, and our third childcare experience (private nanny-share for a short time). Our son started there about 3 months ago. The enrollment process was easy, and we were really impressed with the staff and the facility when we toured. My son has transitioned there so smoothly and really enjoys it. He rarely cries at drop off, and is really happy by all accounts. We've noted his vocabulary (he's less than 2 years old) has blossomed since he started in Goddard. He gains new skills every week, and we feel great knowing he's happy, and loved by his teachers. They communicate with us regularly, and the tadpoles app is great, I love the photos and getting a detailed breakdown of his day, and what the goal for each activity was. It's not a cheap option, but there's nothing more important than my son being in a great educational environment if I have to work full time. We are just thrilled to have found Goddard, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for very high quality child care. read more

Horrible experience based on price and reputation. They took my wife and I on a tour and told about us all these protocols they use to make sure the building is sanitary and safe. The first thing I saw when I walked into a classroom was a child with snot profusely running down his face and no one even offered to whip off his face. We still decided to send our daughter there for socialization purposes and because of its prestigious reputation. My daughter constantly got sick from classmates. We tried to chalk it up to just the daycare experience and the transition period. However, the final straw came when they had an outbreak of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease in my daughter's classroom which comes from poor hygiene at home or poor hygiene practices at the daycare. We received a notification via email that someone had this in her classroom on a Friday. The next day my daughter had a high fever but it went away by Sunday. By Wednesday, they were calling us and telling us our daughter had HFMD. For the amount of money they demand for their services and to not be paying closer attention to the health of the children that come to the daycare, it's COMPLETELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. We could have taken our daughter to ANY daycare for a much more reasonable price and not had this happen. Did I mention my daughter only attended daycare there TWICE A WEEK and she STILL was exposed?! To make matters worse my daughter ended up giving me the HFMD as well because I kiss my daughter everyday. We also have a newborn at home and we were living in fear that he did not contract this by being around his sister. They clearly do not follow their sanitation protocols (at least not in that classroom) and they were nonchalant when they called us as if this was acceptable (not very professional or caring). Needless to say that was my daughter's last day at the "prestigious" Goddard School. What a joke and waste of money. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HIDE YOUR KIDS! read more

My youngest son goes to school here and my older son also went to Goddard all the way through jr kindergarten (on the south side). Both are phenomenal and I could not ask for a better experience. And both of my boys have been to other daycares (La Petite and Kindercare), neither of which even came close to measuring up to Goddard in my experience. Those who feel that their children should not get sick from daycare are, unfortunately, fooling themselves as you will not find a daycare anywhere that doesn't have germs (hand, foot and mouth being one of the most common - please google it as "poor hygiene" is not the cause). Ask your doctor and I am sure he or she will inform you that getting sick is part of daycare. It's not fun, but it's a fact and just part of growing up and building immunity. The kids that don't go to daycare will get it when they go to school. I agree that kids shouldn't be walking around with snotty noses or dirty faces all day, but I actually haven't seen that at all in my son's class and he is a toddler. Here are some of the things I like most about this Goddard: 1) My son is HAPPY and SAFE there. This is most important. I feel totally at ease dropping him off every day - you can't put a price on that. 2) The teachers are degreed and they have a wonderful curriculum. I am amazed at what my almost 2 year old is learning - colors, numbers, etc... it's really impressive. 3) They use an app called Tadpoles and send me an electronic summary of his entire day. There are pictures included in the summary almost every single day. Amazing!! 4) The owner and director are onsite and super friendly. 5) It's secure. You can't get in and out without someone letting you in - and I also know there are lots of eyes on my son at all times (he is a busy boy and always into something). 6) The staff are just fantastic - very friendly and clearly love the kids. 7) The rooms are clean and everything is in place at the end of the day. Do your research, but also be realistic and understand that paying more doesn't have anything to do with whether or not your little one will catch a cold. They have some very strict standards for cleanliness and are inspected regularly (inspection results are all public information @ https://secure.in.gov/apps/fssa/carefinder/index.html) so you can rest assured they are doing a good job there and can check if you aren't sure. You are paying for the degreed teachers, the curriculum, smaller class sizes with additional resources, etc.. If you can afford it, you won't find a better option for your kids. And, honestly, do your research. I know people who go to at home daycares, etc. and feel totally comfortable with it, which is great. I just know that when I drop my son off, I can breathe easy knowing he is happy and learning each day when my husband and I go to work. And no, the daycare doesn't know I posted this and they probably don't even look at these, so I am getting nothing from posting this. I just wanted to be sure that others who are looking for a daycare aren't just seeing the other posts that are out here and basing a decision on those reviews. read more

Facility and curriculum is good; but the nurturing and care aspect of this school is completely missing! Except for ONE teacher I encountered. On too many occasions my child's nose was caked with DRIED snot and cruddy as if it hadn't been wiped ALL day, the teachers are very rehearsed as if they are scared of something, the vibe of the place is just "fake." We always used to get pictures of OTHER kids in our child's daily reports. I'm sure that's some kind of violation of some sort. The owner isn't friendly or welcoming. High turn over. We received multiple emails about them losing staff. My kid got sick so much that it was crazy! I strongly believe that they do not follow their sanitation procedures like they say they do! I noticed there were a lot of children who had runny noses that RARELY got wiped. Not worth the money. Prestigious? Not so much. For me, tuition is their main priority and It's a systematic place of business above everything else. But I will say that my child learned a lot while there; however, with all of the other negative things we decided to discontinue. read more

This was by far the worst daycare center ever! Do not put your child at the Lawrence Goddard school. My son went there for less than one month and I have payed close to $2,000.00. This owner cares only about the money and if you don't pay her she will SUE you! Tells you right there she only cares about the money. Do your research and see how many private schools sue over tuition NOT TOO MANY! My child was always left alone went through several teachers. Teachers never got the Tadpole reports properly filled out. Things were always missing. My son now attends the day nursery at the government center and we ABSOLUTELY love it!!!! They work with you and your child. Your child will be included in activities instead of just left sitting by their selves. Such a better experience. Do your research before placing your child at Goddard. I wish I would have! They always sent notices home about kids being ill. read more

Since this school is franchised I can't speak for all locations, but this location is the worst. For the high tuition I expected more there's not that many kids who attend this school, yet when I pick up my kid their face is dirty, plenty of other snotty kids, and untied shoes. My child got sick within the first couple weeks and she literally gets a cold once a year so it had to be something nasty. Main reason we wanted our child there is because shes already more advance than some from just learning at home. We definitely chose the school because of the "high" credentials also to be social with other kids. My child understand why some of the kids were mean for no reason and were agressive. Teachers seem to avoid talking to you. Seems like the kids don't have to listen or follow the curriculum and do watever they want. The staff atmosphere is similar to zombies. I'm sure there are better schools out there. All these people care about is the tuition check. read more

Worst school ever! My son went here for less than one month. In that one month period he went through 3 teachers. We constantly received emails of teacher changes and illnesses. I thought by putting my son in a school and not an at home daycare he would receive top of the line care and schooling. That is SOOOO not the case with this school. Half the time the kids just sat at tables entertaining their selves while the teacher were on their phones. Facebooking I guess! For the price this school charges you would think they would have great staff. Oh and here's the kicker they know the school sucks and when you decide to withdrawal your kid they want to charge you for the whole next month. If you don't pay it or argue about it she will take you to court and then add attorney fees and 8% interest. My son was there 13 days I paid her $1000 and she wants more. WHO DOES THIS only a money hungry person!!! That is exactly what the owner of this school is. Your child will never come first here. Only the owner's wallet. read more
