The staff is wonderful and my child is well taken care of. Some of the teachers are fresh out of high school but they do a really nice job

I have never felt so compelled to leave a review. Let me give you a clear picture of how this…read moreschool operates. I reached out on a Monday about availability. The owner and director, Kailee, promptly replied with enthusiasm, telling me multiple spots were available for my child's age group. Great news, right? We toured the school on Wednesday. Kailee greeted us, led us to her office, and began her sales pitch: teacher-student ratios, art shows, the "extras" they offer. Not once did she mention teacher names, qualifications, or experience--things any parent would want to know. When I asked about staff education or degrees, she had no clear answer. "I think one might have a master's degree," she said vaguely. When I asked about handling challenging behaviors or redirection policies, again, no clear answer. For someone running a school, that was alarming. The tour itself? Fine. Saw a dirty fishtank. Typical corporate franchise feel. Nothing special. She handed me paperwork, explained the enrollment steps, and told me all I needed to do was register if I wanted the spot. So Thursday, I did exactly that. I got the doctor's forms, submitted everything, and checked off her entire list. Then Friday morning, I receive an automated message saying I'm on a waiting list. Confused, I email Kailee for clarification. That's when she replies: "Hi Charlotte, It was such a pleasure meeting your family & sweet CHILD. I loved watching her excitement for the learning space. We'd love to have her join our school community! Unfortunately I was mistaken about the Tuesday/Thursday space when you toured- I have a space in the Older 2s class, but CHILD is just a bit too young for this age group & would go into the young 2s instead. The Mon/Wed space filled right before you registered by a family that toured earlier in the week & completed their registration just before yours. I'm so sorry that the space is no longer available as it was when you toured." No apology for the bait-and-switch. No professional courtesy to call me when she knew the spot was gone--just excuses in an email I had to initiate. So not only did it take her days to "realize" my daughter's actual age--even though I gave her birthday in the very first email--but I'm also supposed to believe someone conveniently toured and registered before me? Here's the truth: If you want transparency, if you care about teacher qualifications, behavior policies, or basic honesty, look elsewhere. The GOOD news: Fort Mill has plenty of ABC Quality Rated schools, where teacher qualifications, safety standards, and curriculum quality are regularly evaluated. This school is not one of them. Save yourself the time, stress, and disappointment. The director avoids accountability, doesn't answer calls, and communication here is minimal at best. TL;DR: This place will sell you frills, avoid your real questions, and then pull the rug out from under you. Warmly, Someone who actually wants a safe, quality environment for their child--not just a place to drop them off without standards or oversight. :)

He was very quiet and to himself. We were on a waitlist for Oakcrest, then a friend of ours recommended Ivybrook and their half day program. We took our son on the tour and fell in love. His eyes brighten and he was so happy. The registration was seemless. Kailee was very professional and answered all my questions and concerns. Our son is much more talkative, less shy, and plays very well with other children. His first day of school, he asked me to turn around and take him back. The staff is super attentive to him. If there were any issues or concerns in the classroom, they were handled immediately with care. He's learned so much here at Ivybrook, the only thing we regret is not taking him here sooner. We've noticed how much our son has grown, how well he speaks, how much he enjoys school and we love every bit of it.

Thank you to Fort Mill Cooperative Preschool and all of the staff for inviting us to the zoo field…read moretrip! It was such a special first experience for my little one. The trip itself was quite a distance, which made it even more meaningful that everything was so well organized and thoughtfully planned. It was a wonderful way to connect with the staff and some of the families. One of the most meaningful parts of the experience was seeing the parent involvement in action. While it was the parents leading and supporting the group, Ms. Skyler's natural connection with the children, her energy, and her presence stood out. It was truly special to witness the level of trust and bond between the staff, and children. There is even a mini farm and a few gardens at the school. What makes Fort Mill Cooperative Preschool unique is how they encourage and create space for that involvement. Through field trips, events, and holiday celebrations, they build a strong, connected environment for both children and families. We especially love Ms. Emmy and Ms. Skyler. The owner, director and the Fort Mill Co-op family-staff have truly changed school for my son. A huge thank you to Ms. Szilvia Fillmore, the on-site Clinical Art Counselor, who is also affiliated with Thrive Family Services. Through her support and collaboration with the staff, my son has grown in his ability to identify and communicate his needs and emotions. This was very valuable! The tools and materials she brings into the classroom were something we didn't even realize we were missing at previous schools. This is truly an incredible school, with strong values and a genuine commitment to each child's growth and development. We are so grateful for your thoughtful and engaging approach to learning.

My issues were my last few months** As I look back and question my choices to leave my kids here makes me sad. I loved a select few teachers, my girls were lucky to have them. If they had any other teachers I would have pulled them out way before I did. This is not a place that I would tell another parent to bring their kids. My daughter was picked on and picked on by one child in particular. I complained, nothing. I complained, they moved classes. That day my daughter told me he was still picking on her, they were allowed to play on the playground together? C'mon, really? I would think of another child is hitting and spitting on my daughter they would take it more seriously. I questioned them about this boy, the response was his mom was going through a hard time and she wasnt surprised he was being bad. She tried to justify it to my face. Don't get me wrong, I get hard times. The fact that the people i paid way too much money too didn't care, pisses me off. I spent way too much money here for less then mediocre child care.
