Being recently stationed here in July, I really struggled to find a place to workout consistently. On-base gyms are usually not involved with the people who workout there but the downtown YMCA is a different story. Every time I walk, I'm greeted by name and an exchange is made; granted this won't happen to everyone just due to them not always having someone staring at the front door but kept oft than not, it does. The front desk staff ERRRKS. The short black lady and the white lady that wears all that makeup take their jobs waaay too seriously!! Anybody else I can scan my card and keep it moving. These two stop me every single time!! Who do you have with you? Like damn. Aren't their pictures in the system. 3 people walked in. One adult and two kids. I have 3 people on my account. One adult and 2 kids. You would think you could figure it out!! Or maybe I traded my 11 year old with a different 11 year old but that one is a killer. ‍ They just do too much. Safety is one thing but this isn't the White House. And since I'm here ...the pool is almost always cold lately and the family locker room is pretty gross. This place is clean and has a good amount of equipment. The pool is decent too. My only complaint is that, like most YMCA locations, the membership is fairly pricey. read more

Went to this location today for a swim. The pool is not good. It needs painting because it looks shabby but more importantly it desperately needs CLEANING!!! I pulled 3 wads of hair out of the water, leaned against a slimy wall and kicked up dirt from the pool floor. Also the private dressing rooms need to be cleaned and stocked every few hours. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't check out the rest of the place but I will stick to my usual location for my swimming. read more

We love this place. It's very welcoming and great for the family. We've been here for a couple years using multiple programs for the whole family. The CrossFit program is my favorite in the area! read more

Prices are not competitive with newer facilities that offer more amenities. Way too expensive for what they offer. Fairview Rec offers way more for a little bit less and a much nicer, cleaner and newer facility. With that being said I'm canceling my membership. read more

My children went here today with their Grandmother to go swimming. My teenage daughter was wearing jean shorts and a tube top that fully covered her from chest to her shorts (no cleavage or midriff showing). Your registration desk attendant felt that it was appropriate to stop them as they came in at the lobby and embarrass her about her outfit. Quote "This is the YMCA, you need to wear more clothes when you come in here." She was still upset about it when I picked them up hours later. When did the YMCA start shaming children for showing their shoulders? I'm appalled that your staff is this rude and out of date with how to work with youth. read more

I enjoy the downtime Belleville YMCA because of the staff they have, they have the Sauna you could use after a good workout, & it's an all around good place for he Family. read more

The usual place to go work out. My only real complaint is that they've got about the worst wifi set up ive ever seen. On the top track it cuts out on the other side and even in the gym area it drops ALL the time! I could be listening to music on celluar data then music will stop and i noticed that it connected to WIFI. If they'd fix the wifi, i'd give 5 stars! read more

Went to the YMCA yesterday and played basketball with some friends I met up with. Very clean facility staff is very nice I also went into the weight room for about a half hour they have up to date equipment and it was not overly packed with people. I signed up and got a membership so I will be back. read more

Great workout facility. Open until 10 PM on weeknights. Downside is that they are only open from 12-6PM on Sundays, so if you're busy during that window, you'll have to find another way to workout. Also, the treadmills do not have their own televisions, so you have to tune into one of three screens at the front of the gym. I suggest bringing an ipod or another type of music device, because chances are whatever you want to watch on tv isn't on. The staff at the front desk is helpful and nice. The cardio machines are very busy during the 4:30 PM - 6PM window so if you can avoid that time, I'd say do so. Resistance equipment is almost always open, which is nice. read more
