When I met the salesperson at The Good Feet Store, I told her I had a club foot that was operated on when I was 7 years old and that I played sports when I was younger. The only time my right foot gave me pain was when I was standing on it for hours on end. I bought a Walmart Insole and that seemed to help the pain. I bought the Good Feet insoles but they seemed to have the same effect as the Walmart insoles but cost me $4000.00 instead of 50 bucks. I was told if I went to a podiatrist and got a custom insole it would have cost 800 dollars so to say I'm not happy is an understatement. The fact that you can't return these insoles makes me even angrier. Ia msure there are people who have a good experience with The Good Feet Store but mine has been a nightmare. read more

I recently decided to go to The Good Feet Store to see what the heavily marketed business was about. I walked in and was immediately greeted and only had a short wait until I was telling the salesperson my foot related issues. After about 20-30 minutes of checking my walk (gait), stepping on a device that displays where my feet are positioned when standing, and a few shoes with various supports inserted, I was given the various levels of inserts and the warranty and replaceme plans. This is where the Good Feet Store is basically "scamming" the not so educated public. The prices ranged from $700 to around $2,000. Now, when you see the inserts, there is nothing special about them and the salesperson is not a medical professional by any standard. So when you see them , you will understand. It's a variously molded and shaped piece of composite material. For that kind of money, they are making a fortune from basically inserts. The best part is they have partnered with CARE Credit to finance your new inserts. That should be a red flag for something that is not medical grade and from people who cannot diagnose, or sell a product that just makes you feel a little better. Incidentally, you can buy store versions for 1/1000th the cost. Now, I called my insurance company and verified via my plan that I can go to a real medical podiatrist and get better medical grade shoes and inserts for only the cost of MY DEDUCTIBLE ($40) , then about $60 for the prescription inserts. I also inquired about FSA reimbursement and my insurance company will not reimburse for The Good Feet Store because it's not considered a "medical diagnosis. Be careful about getting roped in to a contact with this company. I have to admit that their marketing and social engineering using "lay people" with son stories to assist them in getting people in to basically sell them a few cheap items for hundreds to thousands of dollars. Note: if you are a Veteran and have access to the VA, they have a better medical program for your feet with multiple podiatrists on staff. read more

BEWARE OF DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES Salesman "joked" about not charging for items, then included unnecessary items in the sale without making it clear that they were not part of the expensive package, but were separate charges. Don't just peruse your sales ticket. All sales are final. Review your sales ticket line item by line item before you sign it. Otherwise, you'll get home and realize that over $400 of unnecessary items were added to the sale. The salesman made this sale, but he'll not get another one from us. read more

I missed having a pair of birkenstocks in my life and my go to shop for those had closed years ago. So when I was out in Metairie, I passed by this shop. My sales person was lovely and very helpful. My feet are petite so many birks don't really fit me correctly but we found a pair that I was happy with. Easy peasy. And, why was my sales person looking at me funny? Now longer carrying Brooks... just sealed me not returning. SAD! In response to your reply: There was one rep gracious assisting a couple. Which is one reason why I liked your store - the patience and time consuming efforts made to find the right fit. While I paced from room to room having a look around and observing other reps having a grand happy conversation among themselves. I have no problem waiting my turn in line. I will start with, the shoes here are very expensive. Completely worth it though! I have a few issues with my feet that have developed in my middle years. Primarily, I have a bad case of plantar fasciitus, and can no longer wear shoes without special inserts. I know they do that here, but I have not tried that service, I have inserts from my doctor. I don't think that I have tried on any shoes that weren't comfortable. The ones that stand out over the last year are Taos, Asportuguesas, and Pikolinos. The sales staff does not fall all over you and hover, but if you do need help, they are around. No complaints on the service. This location does have the best selection of the stores in the area. read more

The sales associate, Shaketa, was so friendly and did her best to get me several different options to accommodate to the style that I like and the shoe that would work. Nice owner. Beware no returns, only store credit or EXCHANGES. Employee Corey (female) is a nightmare. If you get her, ask for someone else to help you or leave and go back later. The first time I went in this store, I was pushed into purchasing a very expensive pair. I very succinctly stated to the sales rep that I was going to think about the shoes, but might end up returning them. She had told me I would be able to get my money back. At the time, I did not see any visible signs. It may have been on my receipt, but no one bothered to point it out. I visited the Good Feet store with my mother about a month ago. We decided to go after seeing one of their commercials. My mom has had plantar fasciitis off and on for a long time. And I always got shin splints when I ran. So we went!! And we couldn't be happier. The staff was quite knowledgable. Mom said she learned more than at her previous podiatrist's visit. He just gave her a steroid shot! Erica, the sales girl, was the best. Explained everything and sized us for our orthotics. I even got a pair of danskos for work. What we didn't expect was the price! The arches are pricy, about $200 a pop.. And we got a whole set. BUT! They are covered for life.. And the old arch my mom had from the doctor was like $500 and didn't even help that much. The arches, though, are worth their weight in gold.. The heel cup "maintainer" knocked out my shin splints. And my mom's plantar fasciitis is almost completely gone. Pretty incredible. They fit in 90% of my shoes easily and I'm upset when I don't have them in. Would HIGHLY recommend it. No regrets. Killer staff, killer service, killer product. I was out in Metairie doing some Christmas shopping when I decided to check this place out. I've had a couple of really positive experiences in the Quarter store, but that location is a bit small. The Metairie location has similarly good vibes and helpful staff but has a ton more products to offer. There are more brands and more styles of all the brands. I wish I would have been shopping for myself... I wanted to pick up another pair of Birkenstocks. Phil, the guy running the place was friendly and helpful. When I told him I was looking for something for my mom, he pointed me towards the Vionic sandals/slippers. The fuzzy, leopard print slip-ons with nice arch supports were ridiculously perfect. I bought a pair for my mom and sister. I can't wait to see the two of them lounging in these guys sipping on eggnog. read more

My boyfriend has been begging me to come here for over a year because I'm always complaining about my feet. I finally listened and left Good Feet pleased and happy. I'm obligated to wear heels or tight dressy shoes with my profession. I've had trouble fitting in shoes my entire life and dressy shoes and heels were no exception. I bought a set of inserts and my shoes fit and feel %100 better. I also purchased a cute pair of ballet flats that are the BEST fitting shoes I have ever owned. Not only do my feet feel better, but my back and knees as well. I'm not one to spend money on footwear but this was worth every penny! The owner and staff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful with my condition. Korie was the girl who helped me and she went over and beyond to cater to my taste. I spent close to 2 hours in the store and she put up with me the entire time. I've already sent in 3 co-workers with the same condition and my mom who has always struggled with back problems. All of them were overly pleased with the attentive staff and wide selection of shoes. I work in an environment where me and all the people around me are always on our feet. The Good Feet store is always a part of our weekly conversations. I went to purchase some running shoes from this location. I left before even trying on shoes because the sales person not only blatantly lied about what the manufacturers produce in order to pressure me into buying what they had, she made sure I knew she had worked there for 8 years as if that invalidated the manufacturers website, but also because she was so rude and condescending. The selection of shoes was also minuscule and unorganized. There are other running shoe specialty stores in and around New Orleans that seem genuinely happy to sell you what you need. She's a Complete Belle and said this saleslady was SO NICE. And so this Nice person dropped their Ethics in the garbage and sweet-talked my Sweet old mother into these useless inserts. I have trouble with my feet and finally decided to go here and get really good shoes and supports. I was especially looking forward to getting someone with knowledge to help me. The lady that was working with me was great- I was about to drop $500 or more on shoes and supports. Then one employee walked by me and my husband and said "did you need help ?". I wasn't sure if she was talking to us, since she kind of said it over her shoulder- not making eye contact. She then said "never mind " and walked out of the store (?). The lady helping me came back and my husband went outside to smoke. Shortly after, another employee came in the store and yelled across the room " I don't know why people have to get right by the door and smoke, so that you have to walk through it." He was not right by the door ( plus there are several doors). This pissed me off and I immediately told the lady that I wasn't buying anything from them. She apologized and was very professional about it, but did tell me that they have had complaints about the first person before. You never know who is together while shopping. For the second witch to disrespect my husband is not good. I came very close to telling her off. And believe me, I can. However, I just chose to take my money elsewhere. Moral of the story: don't be a bitch. You lose business. If I gave a review of the woman helping me...5 stars. She was so nice. But the rest of the experience was sad. read more

Beware of this store. Similar to other customers, I was sold a pair of expensive $200 arch support inserts I did not need. The inserts were always uncomfortable, and destroyed the walking shoes I purchased after only a few months. When I tried to return the inserts for store credit, I was told the problem was a defective shoe. Of course, they sold me the shoe but would not give e a credit for those either. Let's start by saying the Good Feet store had the shoes we needed. I have no complaints about the selection of shoes. The service is not good. As my wife and I entered the store two young ladies quickly approached us asking if we needed assistance. Once we both stated we were looking for shoes it obviously became a problem between the two associates. At that point it was obvious that the associates get paid on commission. I thought the Good Feet store was an expert in fitting people to the correct shoe. That service was never offered. There was no discussion about what we actually needed. The only service provided was pulling shoeboxes from the shelves. By the way while my wife was trying on shoes the Good feet associates we're discussing what to have for lunch. We purchased $300 worth of shoes because we needed them and didn't have time to order them online. Next time we will definitely order them from the shoe manufacturer directly. Lastly, while I was in the men's section looking for shoes I overheard another customer complaining about poor service to the manager. Do your research! I have very flat feet and I severely overpronate. I went in to look at some motion control running shoes. Told the salesperson what i was looking for and he proceeded to show me 4 options. I asked him if these were motion control shoes and he said YES. THEY WEREN'T! Not sure if he was poorly trained or if he just thought I didn't know what I was doing and was trying to get over on me. Korie at the Metairie store is wonderful and informative! She helped me not once, but twice over the last few years. The 1st time was with inserts which were life changing! I never thought it was possible to stand all day at work and not be in pain. Korie made it possible! The 2nd time I returned to the store was after I was fitted wrong for a pair of tennis shoes. My feet were killing me again. Korie checked my inserts and noticed they were cracked. I got a new pair for a minimal fee and she noticed my new shoes were the wrong size. I got the right size from the Good Feet store and I am pain free again! I will never, ever go anywhere else! I am a lifetime customer who will recommend her to everyone! read more

I must also concur that the store's policy of store credit only on returns needs to be mentioned at the time of purchase. I was unsure about the $200.00 shoes I purchased. I brought them back the next day (the shoes never left the box and bag) and asked for a refund. The store's website says it gives refunds or exchanges. Well, you can only get store credit. You will not get your money refunded, so you had better be damn sure you want to pay for shoes from this place. If you order the same shoes from Zappos and you are not satisfied, they will fully refund you. And Zappos pays for the shipping both ways. read more

It's been a few months since I brought my NewBalance 990s and I absolutely LOVE Them! I'm a young lady in her mid 20's who struggled with back problems since early adulthood. Standing or sitting from varies jobs over the years have recked my posture and through some vertebrates out of alignment so my specialist suggested yoga, strength training and better quality of shoes! Buyer beware, pushy salespersons, Will keep on and on, bringing out different supports, I've watch them push shoes and inserts on people, me for one!! Oh, your feet need to get adjusted to them, didn't happen, at all. Then I was stuck. Trying to get a store credit(boy that makes them mad) I wonder if they work straight commision??? I "had" severe plantar fasciitis, used their inserts my feet became a lot worse, tried several different pairs of their arch supports,ended up at Ochsner in physical therapy. The first thing they did was get rid of the arch supports. PLEASE, if you plantar fasciitis go to a physician First!! Let them evaluate. I was persistent. I was finally allowed a store credit.. I thought that if I got arch supports, I would have to wear only certain shoes, and that I would have to buy larger shoes. I was so totally, happily WRONG! Kathryn fit me for thin, strong, durable supports that fit in every pair of shoes I already own. This is huge for me, since I work on my feet all day. My FSA covered these, and they have eliminated not only foot fatigue, but alleviated severe hip pain that I have experienced for years. I love the product, and the care and service was just fantastic. This service of custom-fitting and purchase took all of 15-20 minutes, and I can't believe what a difference this short visit made to my life. read more

Good Feet has changed my life! I just ran a half marathon that I really didn't train for and, although my legs were soar, I felt great. I'm training for another currently. After playing volleyball in college and an injury, I was determined to run again, but was having issues. I did palates, chiropractic care, and that made a world of difference, but still every time I tried to run my feet would ache, which was a result of my feet turns inwards. So in my quest to run again, I decided to go to Good Feet after hearing rave reviews from my mom. Ultimately my feet were feeling better by the Good Feet arch support system. Salesperson was so helpful and empathetic to my situation...I started running again without pain within a week. It was the final touch in my journey to health! Bewarre!!! If you purchase shoes you cannot return them for for a credit on your credit card or cash back. Store credit only they won't tell you this when you make your purchase it is at the bottom of your receipt. You can call and argue all you want but they won't do anything for you.
