Like many small speciality shops, this one can get busy on Saturdays, but during the week I've had nothing but exceptional customer service. They seem to have limited color choices for each shoe, at least the ones I get. This limitation doesn't bother me because I'm there to find the best trail shoes for my needs, not for fashion. On the occasions I've groused about the available color(s), the staff has always offered to order a different color for me - great customer service, but I just buy the best color they have in stock, even if that's neon yellow and blue. I mention the limited color choices because running shoes have become fashion items, and if your goal is to complete your "outfit," or if you're shopping for picky kids, you might not find what you're looking for, at least in stock. But if you're looking for running shoes for running, Rush Running is the best place in Northwest Arkansas.

The cold snap (and the fact we were winter camping) helped me land on a fleece lined pair. The absolutely LOVE them. I was between sizes and happily sized up so I can have layering options. They're like my favorite pair of snow bibs but cuter!! So, about the store. It was big, clean, and well organized. But I worked for a retail company that thought their products sold themselves for almost a decade. But I am a huge believer that great customer service is what really attracts the money. Today, my mom and I shopped here, we were the only customers in the whole store and no one helped us. At one time my mom was trying on one of the sample shoes and a red head girl asked, "those don't fit?" My mom responded, "unfortunately no." And the sales girl replied, "aw that's too bad." Do I need to say more? What a perfect opportunity for her to say, "oh well let me grab one in your size!" And that's even just the basics. There was about 4 employees in the store who could have easily made a sale from us. We looked at everything. We were ready to buy more than just the $18 sunglasses we got. But our interests soon expired since their interest in us didn't seem exist in the first place. Mason, I'm disappointed. I encourage the management to take a higher interest in the customer service of their employees. Customers need to feel not only welcomed, but wanted.

Since I'm a bit far to drive up just for a shopping spree, I emailed the company to inquire about the necklace. Liz emailed me back immediately to describe the situation: they were out of stock, but would try to see about getting the necklaces from another source for me. Not even a week later, she emailed again to let me know about new stock that had arrived, even sending pictures along. I asked her to set aside one in Teal and one in Salmon. She replied, asking me to call Cassandra at Masons' mall location, who would ship them out to me the same day so I wouldn't have to wait over the weekend. And when they arrived? They were paired with beautiful earrings that I wasn't expecting and even a personalized thank you note from Liz just for shopping with Masons. I love it! Extremely delightful people to work with and I'm so happy with both necklaces and earring sets. If I'm ever in the area, I'm definitely stopping to shop with them again!

I had these guys make a knife sheath for my custom built knife. Talk about overjoyed at first…read moresight! This sheath is a superb example of pride of craftsmanship. It is hand tooled excellence with beautiful engraving. The leather was dyed to the exact shade that I had specified. He said it would take a couple of weeks, depending on when the leather showed up and how much other work he had to do. We agreed on a price and I gave him my contact info. I stopped by a few weeks later - bag wasn't ready. I stopped by the next month - bag wasn't ready. I stopped by again just before leaving town for several weeks in the summer - bag still, two months later, was not ready. When I got back to town, I stopped by again. Apparently the craftsman finished the bag, but the owner sold it while I was gone. They had made no attempt to contact me to let me know it was finished. The craftsman told me he had another, similar one in the works and it would be ready by that Saturday. I stopped by early the next week - bag wasn't ready. Stopped by today (mid-August - weeks later) - bag isn't ready. It's Birkenstock sandal season, and that's the main thing he does, especially in summer. They have a contract with Birkenstock, so that work takes priority. He told me to come back in a month. These guys might be wizards at leather work - I wouldn't know. As far as the business side goes, I can't endorse them. I don't even want the bag now - it's just going to remind me of getting jerked around. I wish it were otherwise. There are very few "old Fayetteville" businesses still around, and I would have been glad to support one. I guess if you bring in something with "Birkenstock" printed on it, or you're shopping off the racks (or the craftsman's counter, where my bag apparently was when it was sold), you'll be fine.
