This is review is for the Dunwoody DSW that is located near where I live. This store is in the Perimeter area in the Perimeter Village shopping center, and it has a big parking lot which means ample parking spaces. This is a big DSW, with lots of wide aisles so you don't have to worry about tripping over people while they're trying on shoes, or being stepped on while you're trying on shoes. There are shoes for the whole family (wait, I'm not sure if they have baby shoes, but, then, do babies really need to wear shoes?), and this is a big store that is well light throughout. I like that this is one of those stores where most adults can walk in and see which section interests them because the shelving isn't that tall. Single shoes are displayed as samples on the shelves, with the inventory for that shoe below in boxes so customers can easily locate the shoes size they need and try them on. The men's section is on the far left side of the store as you walk in. I was surprised with the various types (formal looking, casual, flip flops, sandals, boots, oxfords, etc.), quality (well made leather to shoes you know are going to only last one season), and prices (starting under $20 to over $100) of men's shoes. I found comfortable work shoes at decent prices. I'm glad I'm not one of those shoe hoarders, because I know I would've bought way too many pairs of shoes than I need. Just realize that Designer Shoe Warehouse is more warehouse than designer, since you won't find any high end designer shoes here. This place is definitely the store to come to when you want to save money vs quality department stores. Customers can save even more money by finding shoes that they like on clearance. The men's clearance racks are also on the left side but waaaaaaaay in the back. Shoes on sale, some at deep discounts, can be found in this section. There is only one checkout line that leads to multiple registers. Unfortunately, there were only one registers open with many people waiting in line when I was there. Overall I'm a fan of this store.

My observations include the minimal amount of stock...one or two items hanging for clothes, hats, etc. and no price tags on any of the shoes ! I am luckily not in the market for another pair of men's running shoes but I enjoy checking on sale items. Apparently if you have to ask how much then the philosophy at this store is we do not want to make it easy for the customer. I asked the sales person what they had in Brooks size 12 and she came back with one pair of shoes. Not impressed.

I went to the area where the insoles are and started looking for the 2 sizes I needed. The associate asked if I needed any help as he paid more attention to the busty loud blond haired women. I said I had called in a few minutes ago for the insoles. That he claimed they had plenty of stock, and to my finding, they had none. He then said go to Amazon and order them because they all of a sudden didn't have stock. Even though I had just called 20 minutes prior to driving to the store. I feel he could have paid more attention to the call & my request. He could have told me over the phone just to order them online. Instead of me driving 20 minutes in traffic both ways. I will not say it was a total wasted of time. Now I know Amazon has them. When for years Amazon did not carry them. Based on this experience, I do not ever have to go back to that store.
