Dr. Lisa came to our home to assist our fur baby Porsha across the rainbow bridge. She was extremely kind, so very patient, and wonderful with my kids who were all sobbing when she arrived. She explained the procedure thoroughly, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, took the time to make paw and nose prints and shave fur for us to keep. She even had little vials for the kids to keep it in. She made us a beautiful keepsake rock with her name on it too. Having our baby pass peacefully at home was such a beautiful experience. I would give this company no stars. Dr Claudia Hite has no business being in people's homes. To think she is the head Dr. sets a low bar for the other vets. I had to hold our sweet little guy for his sedative shot and what ever she did terrorized and hurt him so bad that he put his mouth over my hand as if to bite me, but he did not bite because he has never bitten anyone. I cried and tried to comfort him for a minute of sheer hell until the sedative took effect. My poor boy suffered in the final moments of his otherwise beautiful life. I have never felt such sorrow and despair in my life. I may have to go see a therapist to erase this from my mind. I can not express how distraught I am. There is nothing that will make it easy, but this made it easier. In the past we have had to go to various vet hospitals, mostly unfamiliar places to put an animal down. Being able to have a lovely doctor come by and help with one of the most difficult decisions that any pet owner will have to make, was much better than going to a hospital. Our dog was able to sit in the back yard, snack on garbage and just relax while we got ready to do what was necessary. The doctor was very nice and completely understanding. My cat's quality of life had come to an abrupt low spot after a year of GI issues. I had used a mobile vet to put my other cat to sleep a couple of years ago but they didn't have an opening for over a week. My fiancé and I will be recommending this company to everyone we know. They were beyond amazing. We now know this is the only way we want to euthanize our dogs in the future. I called on a Saturday morning, left a message with details requested per the recording, and received a call back within an hour. Even though it was a Saturday, they were able to fit us in same-day (for an extra fee). We also opted to pay extra so our 20+ year old boy, Bones, could be cremated individually and returned to us in a keepsake box. Dr. David arrived on time. He was an absolute blessing to us -he was patient, understanding, and so incredibly empathetic. Even though we had euthanized pets in the past when it was their time, Dr. David talked us through the procedure as if it were our fist time. He did not rush anything. We cuddled Bones and told our stories about him, like anyone would do when it was time to say goodbye to a beloved family member. Afterwards, Dr. David recommended we let our 3 other dogs out to come smell Bones do they would understand what happened and have closure about him no longer being around. I'm bawling my eyes out right now thinking about it. It was so sad, yet such a healthy and positive experience. My fiancé refers to Dr. David as an angel with a ponytail instead of wings. He is that amazing -and this is coming from two very introverted people. He even gave us rock with Bones' name on it and a bone to help remember him by. Dr.David took Bones with him in a cute basket he had brought. About a week and a half later, I received the call from the Tacoma mortuary (54th & Junette) saying Bones' ashes were ready to be picked up. They were requesting appointments so too many people weren't in their office at once. Picked him up a few hours later and, I thought I was calm and had it together, but when we saw the beautiful cedar keepsake box with the huge name tag (I'm sorry, I can't think of the proper name for it right now), I started tearing up. But then I was shown the little certificate and The Goodlife had taken his paw prints for us as another keepsake and that's all it took for me to just start crying. Being handed these things and his ashes really made me feel like in the end, he was treated respectfully as if he were a member of their families too. These are such important services that nobody really wants to need, but needs. And the people who take care of our loved ones are such amazing people. When I got back home and showed my fiancé, he tested up too seeing how amazing everything was -we had no idea the box would be of such great quality or that we would get all those extra things.
