Dr Christina is the most gentle and compassionate person. Just incredible. She explained everything including to my 6 year old son and was a calming presence to our family on a dark day. I am so grateful she was able to help Dexter. Gentle hands came with less than 24 hours notice and the first thing Dr Jason said on the phone was "I am so sorry you're calling me." The compassion and care our family received was so comforting. Thank you for being here.

Dr. Goodwin helped my sweet Rhoda with hospice care and her aftercare. He was kind, compassionate, supportive, and very patient dealing with a very anxious cat momma. After Rhoda died, I assumed she would be picked up and carried out in a regular pet carrier, but Dr. Goodwin left with her wrapped and covered in soft blankets and placed in a wicker basket. It was such a sweet and more compassionate departure for my sweet kitten. If you decide to do hospice care for your pet (or any at-home vet care/aftercare), please consider hiring Gentle Hands Cherished Paws. Not only will you improve the comfort of your pet, but you also get the support you need as the care giver.

From my first call with Dr. Jason, to the care that Dr. Christina provided, I was so impressed with GHCP and have been sharing my experience with everybody I know. Their kind and gentle nature made saying goodbye to my 16-year old Morkie so much easier. I work in hospice (for humans)and I saw so many similarities in how they approach end-of-life. They spent time getting to know Max and my family and made those final moments memorable and peaceful. Thank you!

Our beloved siberian husky was very ill with cancer and we needed to put him to sleep. Thankfully we were referred to Gentle Hands Cherished Paws by Pearl Animal Hospital in Renton (We loved the oncologist at Pearl). We called Gentle Hands and were greeted by loving and thoughtful Dr Jason. He was able to schedule Dr Christina to come to our house. Dr Christina was so incredibly kind. She gently put our dog to sleep being very astute to his needs and ours. She comforted me while I sobbed and told her all about the favorite times my dog and I had together. I was so impressed with how patient, thoughtful and kind Dr Christina was. I highly recommend Gentle Hands Cherished Paws.

We communicated via email with Dr. Jason as we were deciding the right day to say goodbye to our Ramzi. In between all the appointments with various specialty vets and caring for our baby email was easiest. Our boy was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and controlling his pain while giving him the best quality of life was becoming more and more difficult. Our dog was very anxious at any vet office. We were referred by a friend who had GHCP visit their home for in-home euthanasia many years ago. Dr Jason was able to visit on short notice as our dog declined quickly over the holidays. We appreciate the patience, flexibility and compassionate care he provided our Ramzi at his end. He was able to pass into comfort and peace in the choosing of his own spot in our dining room. We still miss him with all our heart but so glad he took his last breath in his home.

I could not be more pleased with GHCP. Dr Goodwin responded when we needed help the most. He was respectful and helped us through the process. I recommend GHCP highly.

Most of the staff are nice and the prices are good but the wait times are absolutely ridiculous. My dog needed to have surgery and they had me drop her off at 7am. I called them at 4pm because I hadn't received an update and I was told she hadn't even gone into surgery yet...I had to take time off work to drop her off early which is fine but it was frustrating to find out they just had her waiting around in a crate all day. Another instance is when I brought her in for some vaccinations and waited with her in the lobby for over 45 minutes. No one said anything to me and I had to ask multiple times to see what was going on because I shouldn't have had to wait that long. It was also frustrating because I moved my appointment from 4pm to 2:30pm and then literally waited until 3:30 to be seen anyway. Also, if you're in a room, they'll say they'll be back and then leave you in there for like 20-30 minutes without an update and you'll have to go into the hall and flag someone down to remind them that you're still there. They also let owners go into the surgery room when they drop off their pet while people are literally operating on an animal a few feet away...seems unsanitary to me. Luckily I'm moving so I won't have to come back but if I wasn't, I would have really considered finding a new veterinarian. Only good thing about this place is the price.

Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. We brought our dog in after she had been vomiting for days, hadn't eaten in two days, was panting heavily, whining in pain, and appeared to be having difficulty breathing. She was taken to the back immediately, but after that we were left sitting in an exam room for over an hour with no updates. We eventually went to the front desk ourselves to ask what was going on. We were told the doctor would be in shortly, and then waited another hour before he finally came to speak with us. During that conversation, we learned for the first time that our dog had arrived with a temperature of 104 degrees. We asked whether she still had a fever, and the doctor didn't know and said he would have to go check. About 30 minutes later, another staff member brought treatment estimates that included a quick scan ultrasound the doctor had never mentioned. This was the first time anyone told us that a quick scan ultrasound had supposedly been performed. We had questions about the findings, but no one could clearly explain them. When the doctor returned, he recommended additional bloodwork before realizing information from recent bloodwork was already in our dog's chart. Watching him review the chart in front of us after making recommendations significantly undermined our confidence in the care being provided. After approximately four hours, we left with a bill of more than $600, no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no clear answers about what was causing our dog's symptoms. We were charged for an IV catheter and a quick scan ultrasound. Despite being told our dog arrived with a 104 degree fever, nobody ever explained why no treatment was provided for it. Emergency medicine is complicated, and not every case has an immediate diagnosis. What isn't acceptable is spending four hours in an emergency hospital with so little communication, so little doctor interaction, and so few answers.

Both Dr. McHaffie and Dr. Goraya were compassionate, professional, and truly treated Chili as if she were their own. I CANNOT thank them enough for their kindness, expertise, and empathy. Because her electrolytes were unstable and her condition was more on the critical side, surgery was scheduled for Monday. The entire SSVH team--receptionists, technicians, and all the doctors involved--were absolutely wonderful throughout the process. Thanks to everyone's care, Chili came home on Tuesday afternoon and has been doing amazingly well--back to her happy, playful self! This is truly a six-star review because five stars just aren't enough to express how grateful and satisfied I am.

Over the course of treatment, they performed four surgeries that were later confirmed to be unnecessary, putting my dog through repeated anesthesia, pain, and recovery for no legitimate medical reason. Their lack of proper diagnosis, poor judgment, and complete disregard for the physical toll on my dog nearly cost her her life. At no point were we given clear explanations, alternative options, or convincing medical justification for why surgery after surgery was supposedly required. Each procedure created more complications, more suffering, and more fear. What makes this unforgivable is that much of this could have been avoided with competent care, thorough diagnostics, and basic professional caution. Instead, we were met with confidence without competence, and reassurance that turned out to be dangerously wrong. The emotional distress this caused our family -- watching our dog deteriorate because we followed professional advice -- is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Veterinary care requires trust, and this clinic shattered it. I strongly urge pet owners to seek second opinions before consenting to any major procedures here. Had we done so earlier, my dog may have been spared immense pain and trauma.

I have never been wowed by their service, office, staff or overall attention to my dogs, they have been just ok. The last two times I have had to interact with this place has been awful. - somehow they got one of my dogs vaccine records mixed up. I was needing documentation for the groomer and this took multiple calls, me pulling my records, and me physically going in to the office 3x to get any sort of resolution to the situation. They NEVER followed up and never called back as they repeatedly told me they would. - my dogs have always been on a heart-worm & flea medication, but since we moved to the area, and they didn't issue their last prescription they would not issue a new prescription because they wanted to do an expensive blood work up before prescribing medication. They have both my dog's prior records but refused to issue the prescription refill. So I got to pay $175 for simple blood work and a n additional $120 for a full exam to confirm they don't have heart-worm ( obviously) because they have always been medicated for it. - I called last week to schedule my senior dog's rabies vaccine that he is due for this month. He was seen for his wellness check in April of 2023 (que heart-worm debacle) They refused to schedule his rabies vaccine with a vet tech insisting that I HAD to have an annual exam to get just his vaccine. They said they would check with the vet to "see" if they could just give the vaccine since he was less than 12 months out from his last exam and call me back. It has been almost a week since that conversation and there has been no communication. This is a case of 3 strikes and you're out. I would recommend going to an office that doesn't try to nickel and dime you and cares more about your pets actual needs. As a side note the office staff isn't good. Very snarky and rude. Zero follow up and POOR communication. The veterinarian I have seen has been good overall, just nothing to be wowed over.

The same staff I struggled with was there but other's had joined which seemed to create accountability. I find the facilities clean and the staff generally polite, but the level of politeness definitely varies from one customer to the next. This is observable from the waiting room. The doctor's and assistants are professional and personable. I generally see Dr. Kraabel, but have see a different Dr. for the last two visits. I recently scheduled an appointment when my Sheba showed signs of an ear infection. He had also developed an occasional tearing from one eye which this doctor had observed in May. I suspected his eye may have been scratched from my other dog's tail. For cost reasons I had been applying a human prescription lubricant which I brought in to make sure it was safe; the Dr. made no recommendations. I asked her to take another look at this visit which she did. After a brief exam she suggested a glaucoma test, when I hesitated she told me the worst case scenario, losing an eye without warning and I quickly agreed. The assistant had taken an ear swab when we arrived and now the Dr. escorted my pup to the back. When she returned a few moments later she told me he didn't have an ear infection and showed me how to clean his ears by unrolling the cotton ball and inserting it in his ear. She then went over my entire bill; almost $400. I was aghast, this was more than when he gets the expensive ear treatment. I tried to back out of the $77.00 glaucoma test, but it was already done. It was then she told me that that test was negative as well and suggested a cheap bottle of eye drops. In the end I spent almost $250.00 (with flushes and drops to be filled elsewhere) to be told my dog doesn't have an ear infection and needed eye drops. The doctor later sent results in which the findings showed mild conjunctivitis, yet she withheld that information, choosing to use fear in order to motivate me into agreeing to an unnecessary test. This was a shameful exploitation of the pet connection (a trend among vets) as well as a betrayal of integral trust one must have with the medical profession. All of that, on top of ridiculously high charges for a simple office visit. I left feeling I had been played; swindled, legally, but robbed none-the-less. Needless to say, I will search high and low to find an alternative medical provider for my pets.
