On the third trip scheduled to Boston Logan Airport with the Good Taxi since June, the driver failed to show up this time. I called the office at 6:15 AM (my ride was for 6 AM). No answer. I got a call back 15 minutes later and confirmed that the driver made the mistake on the pick up thinking it was 6 PM. I was already in an Uber car to the airport at a significant discount to the price fixed taxi fare. The dispatcher/owner while apologetic did not offer a free ride or other accommodation for the mistake. read more

Good taxi is unreliable. Do yourself a favor and find another cab company. On Saturday I had a scheduled pick up to be dropped at my son's wedding. They kept telling me they were almost there, I guess so I wouldn't call another cab. I kept calling them because I was stressing about getting to the wedding and they starting hanging up on me. Finally they said they were 2 minutes away. Another 10 minutes went by...at that point they stopped answering my calls. I had to drive myself to the wedding. They claimed there was a medical emergency but that doesn't explain the lying and unanswered phone calls. I business with this company for years, but never again! read more

I used their service for both drop off and pickup to and from Logan airport. Dan was on time both ways, and the van was comfortable and very clean. One early morning in January on my way to the airport, I found myself at a street corner with my bags, alone in the dark, thanks to "Good" Taxi. The driver Good Taxi sent me drove much too fast on Mass Ave, nearing 50mph. He ignored me when I asked him to slow down. He then hit nearly 40 on a residential side street, and got belligerent when I asked him to slow down. I got out because there was no way I was going to let this person drive me on the highway. In all my years taking cabs in major US cities, I have had this experience maybe once or twice. Getting out of a cab on a dark corner, alone, when I need to get to the airport, is really not something I ever set out to do. I called the dispatcher, who said that they've never had complaints about this driver and by the way, everyone speeds early in the morning. In other words, tough luck lady, it was probably your fault somehow. I was so surprised by the response I forgot to point out that if your customer asks you to slow down, maybe you just should, rather than yell at them. read more

I would rate zero but as we all know it is not possible. Please avoid! I called, two days prior, to book a ride for my wife returning to Boston from Europe. The person answering the call did not say the company name and only by asking I could confirm that I reached The Good Taxi. I provided the flight number and two cell phone numbers. I was not charged for the ride and was not given any confirmation number. I was told I did not need one. I was asked that my wife or I call on my wife's arrival in Boston. I kept calling for 30 minutes, practically non-stop, trying both phone numbers and nobody answered my calls. Neither my wife nor I received any messages/calls from The Good Taxi. My wife was unable to locate her ride once she exited the terminal and decided to take a cab. Based on the other reviews this seems to be a c....pshoot. It works when it works and you are left to hang dry when it does not. Clearly we were assigned to the category of customers ignored by The (not so) Good Taxi. Unless you are a gambler and like to play long odds, do yourself a favor and don't use this company. read more

CON: did not ever show up PRO: NONE REVIEW: due to the great reviews from previous customers I decided to book the Good Taxi for my 5:55am flight to Chicago. I called the night before to confirm a 4:30am pick up. at 4:30am the morning of my pickup, there was no taxi or phone call. I called the Good Taxi myself and was told that the taxi was running behind. I asked if they could be more specific and they said ten minutes. Ten minutes later there was no taxi. I called back and I was sent straight to voicemail. I ended up calling another taxi company that was there within 5 minutes. And the Good Taxi NEVER called to say that they were at my apartment. I will never take this taxi company again, and strongly advise others to stay away from it. I was later told that they overbook and therefore just don't show up sometimes. read more

Skip these guys if you expect to be at a certain place on a certain time. I made reservation on Saturday night 2 1/2 hours ahead of time to pick us up at 10:30 pm. The cab never came. I called back at 10:50 pm and the operator said he would check into it. I gave them my cell phone number and headed downstairs, certain the cab would show up any minute. Called them back twice at 10:55, both time the call went to voice mail. A taxi service letting their call go to voice mail on a Saturday night? Peculiar. Never heard back from them, the ride never came. Almost makes one wonder if we were parts of some elaborate prank. Luckily we had a friend of ours bring us to Boston. read more

I'm fairly surprised that this place has such great reviews. I was taking an earlier morning flight after visiting family in the area. I arranged in advance for the car to come at a pre-specified time, but they ended up arriving 20 minutes late. I did not receive any warning, and when I called the dispatcher, I was just told that they would be 5 minutes late (without providing any apology, and it ended up being much more than 15 minutes). The driver who took me to the airport ended up being very nice and apologetic, and he got me to the airport as fast as possible while still providing a smooth ride. However, a car service being that late, particularly when I have an early flight to catch, is unacceptable to me. read more

I live in Arlington and have used The Good Taxi four or five times to get to Logan for business trips this year. Until this morning, I would have given them five stars - the drivers were prompt and courteous, paying was easy, and I could always get a reservation the day before. I have recommended them to friends and acquaintances. Today was different. My experience this morning was ridiculous. The driver arrived promptly at 5am and I told him we were going to the JetBlue terminal at Logan (Terminal C). He said that sometimes traffic backs up at the Departures drop-off and it was faster to let me off at the Arrivals door and I could just take the escalator up. I said that was fine. Then he said that there are dead spots and the mobile payment program doesn't work down there, so he'd have to take my credit card payment before we got to the airport. He pulled over in front of Giles Liquor in West Medford and asked for my credit card. I was taken aback and said I'd prefer to pay at the airport. He got very agitated, but started driving again. I felt a bit uncomfortable, so I called The Good Taxi from the back of the cab and explained that I was not really comfortable with the situation. The dispatcher told me that the driver was being reasonable, but perhaps he had not explained it the best way. I said thank you and ended the call. The driver (who shall remain nameless because he said "None of Your Business" when I asked for his name) continued to get more upset as we drove the rest of the way to the airport. He told me that I should find another cab company to take me to the airport next time. He asked me questions like "is this really how you live your life?" as though I were a horrible person for having the temerity to expect a cab driver to take me to the Departures drop-off and let me pay upon arrival. When we got to the airport and I reminded him that we were going to JetBlue, he said "the one thing I will admit is that I got it into my head that you were going to United and Terminal B is worse than Terminal C." He didn't go so far as to apologize though. When we arrived at Terminal C, it took less than a minute for him to find a space at Departures and the payment app worked with no problems. I was extremely disappointed in the service I received and will not be using this company ever again. (Edited to add: I did receive a coupon from The Good Taxi but the coupon email did not include a personal reply or apology. I'll give the company the benefit of the doubt that there was some kind of technical snafu there. However, if you can't understand why someone would be upset at being berated by an angry cab driver all the way to the airport in the wee hours of the morning then I don't know how to explain it.) read more

I am writing this review from the backseat of one of their cabs. I called sometime yesterday and reserved an airport taxi for today (a Wednesday) at 4pm. It only took a matter of seconds to reserve, and the gentleman on the phone was friendly and straightforward. Not gonna lie, all of the reviews that complained of no call/no show drivers scared me a lot, so I had a contingency plan of driving myself to the airport if the car wasn't in front of my house by 4:10. Well, that obviously didn't have to happen, because the cabbie rolled up at exactly 4:00. The cab itself is about as clean as you could expect, and the driver took some sweet shortcuts through Charlestown to get us there quickly during rush hour traffic. For $36 including tip, I think it's a pretty good deal, and will likely be calling them again for any future rides to the airport. read more

I'm sure the ride to the airport would have been nice, but I didn't even get that far, because my cab NEVER ARRIVED. After waiting 20 minutes (AFTER having called a day ahead to book a cab), I finally gave up and caught a cab with a different company. I called on the night of 5/22 to ask for a 6:45 cab on the morning of 5/23 to catch an early flight. First red flag: the dispatcher's response was "uh, I don't have the reservations that have already been made in front of me right now, but uh, yeah...I think that should be fine...I don't think there'll be a problem." Very reassuring. Ten minutes after the cab was supposed to arrive at my door, it's nowhere in sight, so I call the company to make sure it's still coming. The same guy answers the phone and assures me that it'll only be 5-6 more minutes. Not ideal, but okay, delays happen. I wait ten more minutes; still no cab. By this time it's TWENTY minutes after the time I booked a cab for. I called them back to cancel and the same guy picks up the phone and says "it'll only be a couple more minutes!!!" Nope, I need to catch my flight and they are clearly not getting the job done. Ended up walking to the closest cab stand and catching a cab from there. The worst part was that the guy never even ATTEMPTED to apologize! Seriously, the MOST BASIC function of a cab company is to dispatch cabs to arrive on time, ESPECIALLY when they're booked hours in advance. Failure to do so, and then failure to even try to apologize, is unacceptable. Use at your own risk - it seems like most people have a good experience, but make sure you leave some time so if they leave you stranded your plans aren't ruined. EDIT: My review mistakenly said "this morning" when this actually occurred the morning of May 23 (I wrote it then, but my account had not been authenticated until 5/26). Wrong date, but I am 100% certain that this is the company I had this bad experience with. read more

I have used good taxi more times than I can count and have nothing but praise for their way of business. Other services may be cheaper, but you cannot put a price on reliability. I have taken the Good Taxi many times to and from the airport early in the morning and late at night and they have always been great--on time, pleasant, not the most expensive option around. But now it is 2am and I am standing in a ridiculously long taxi line at the airport because my flight was delayed and they decided that they would not send the taxi I had requested earlier today, and not even notify me about it. Back story: my flight was delayed about an hour, I called from Atlanta to update him and he already knew because they track it. Great! But no mention of "oh btw if you get in past 1:30am, we can't get you", and no message when I arrived saying "sorry, the shift is ending and I can't have the driver stay." Nothing. And when I called on landing, no answer. Called again a few minutes later and was told that because I'm late the can't get me, sorry. I understand that small taxi operators don't have tons of drivers around to be flexible for every situation, but the whole reason you reserve a taxi for when you land is so that you don't have extra stress and you can get to your bed reasonably quickly. Instead, trying to figure out what happened made me lose time while the horrendous BOS taxi queue was growing, and left me in the lurch. I have no idea what happened to their service. I used to like you Good Taxi, but why would I use you any more if you strand me in the middle of the night like this? read more

Driver followed directions but took personal calls the whole way (who the 5h1t are you taking to @ 6am????). ****Mornings suck. Monday Mornings suck more. Early Monday mornings flying out to some random mid-west city for work suck even more. I just don't need to add a crappy loud ride to that... For reference I used dial 7 in NYC for at least a year (twice a week) and they were always early. To add to this - as a general note - in Boston if you book and the cab comes early you better be there or they will leave you stranded. I called The Good Taxi after reading some recent bad reviews about another cab company I had been using to get to Logan, the price had been going up, and they didn't answer the phone the last time I called. A $30 flat rate from Medford, clean cabs, cabbies who speak English and have great personalities, as well as who actually care about their company, will keep me coming back for sure! The ride to Logan was pleasant, and my driver told me how he had worked with one of the owners years back, and he had been laid off from another job two weeks prior to being called by said now-owner. The guy was fed up with other cab companies not fixing or maintaining their cars and he was starting his own company. This guy saw it as a great opportunity, and he's been with them ever since. He seemed to genuinely support the business model, the company, everything, and someone that loves his job that much definitely gets two thumbs up in my book. I was running late, as usual, and he waited for me, no problem, no aggravation, no words to me about being late. It was rush hour, and it still took no time whatsoever to get to the airport. His smartphone was broken, and he only had a regular phone at that time, but he was able to call in my credit card, but I had cash, so it wasn't a big deal. On the way back, my driver had a square reader for his phone, so paying with a card was easy, a receipt was e-mailed to me, and it was another pleasant experience. I made a reservation in advance, the cab was waiting for me once I got my baggage, we kept on phone contact while I was at the baggage claim, etc. I'm sold! read more

I used The Good Taxi for the first time a few weeks ago when I needed a ride to Logan from my apartment in Somerville at 4 am. The $30 flat rate is the lowest I've seen from any company and, perhaps most importantly, the taxis accept credit cards. My driver was very friendly and gave me his card should I need a ride back from the airport once I returned. I wish I had. (I made the mistake of taking a random taxi straight from the airport terminal, and had to suffer through loud music, cell phone chatter, and a driver who needed turn-by-turn directions.) This is by far the best taxi service if you're living in Somerville or Medford. Always friendly, helpful, and reliable. A friend recommended calling them and I've never gone back since. The second time I called them, they recognized the number, greeted me by name, and I didn't even have to give my address. That's what I call customer service! I also use them for pickup service from Logan Airport. The driver calls me the second the plane touches down to confirm and I just go to the limo waiting area to be picked up. I've used them several times. Cars are easy to book and rates are reasonable. However, for the second time now, they have left me stranded at the airport when I had reserved a pick up in advance. The first time I called when they didn't show and they said they were picking up someone else who's flight was delayed and was supposed to arrive before mine. They said I could wait and share a ride with her but that it would take around 45 minutes. The second time was last night my pick up was planned for 12:20a.m. I called them at 12:25 thinking they were probably running a little late but they informed us that the driver got a flat tire and would not be coming. So there we were stranded by good once more and this time I had a 7 month old in tow! Bottom line, things happen but when they happen more than once It becomes harder to forgive. In regards to the response from good below: I was not informed of the protocol below when I made the reservation and regardless it would not have made a difference in either situation. Also, since I was only "stranded" each time for 10 minutes because I was able to use another service when good didn't show up as promised, I will be sure to ALWAYS just use another service without trying good. After all he's right. What's the point of relying on his service when you can just use someone else? I'm sorry that the owner is angered by this review but as I mentioned above, this happened twice and that is the reason why this has been written. read more

My friend and I used "The Good Taxi" for pick up and drop off at the airport for both our departure and return trips. We ended up with Mark ("Mark-o") both times - he provided great service (even carrying our suitcases down to the taxi from my apartment and back up the stairs on the return), kept the conversation interesting during our ride, and made sure we got from Point A to Point B safely and securely. The great thing about Mark was that he didn't need a reminder of where to drop us off, since he had done the pick up a week before. He remembered us from description and even called when he arrived at the airport to let us know that he'd be waiting for us after we got through customs. Now THAT'S service. To top it off, the flat rate from Lexington to the airport was much more reasonable than quotes I received from other companies. You bet I'll be calling on them again for my next trip! read more

My wife and I just returned from a trip to LA and we used "The Good Taxi" to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. I have to say that the previous Yelp reviewers were spot on with the positive reviews for "The Good Taxi". I called at approximately 10 pm the night before and a taxi was waiting for me the next morning at exactly 5 am. It was a relief because many delivery services have had trouble locating my house but not these guys. The ride was pleasant and the driver was very nice. When we got back to Logan I called them up and they stated they would be there in 15-20 mins. As expected the cab showed up right on time and we had another great ride home. I previously have had reservations about using a cab company to drive me to the airport (for fear extremely high prices) however they have a flat rate which is extremely reasonable. I definitely recommend checking them out. I will be using them again in the future. read more

We have been taking the Good Taxi to and from the airport for years. I've been able to reserve within 24 hours. Our rides always arrive early and find the best routes back and forth. The prices are as good or better than other taxis and Uber-like options. The most recent trip, our flight was more than an hour late. Our driver had stayed on top of the change and was right in front of the door as we walked out with our luggage. That evening, we were pleasantly surprised when we began to talk to the driver and ended up learning about and discussing Robert Caro's multi-volume bio of LBJ and his other book about politics in NYC in the 1930-40s. read more

I have had overall really good experiences with The Good Taxi, having used them a few times now. I first booked service to Logan since they offer flat rate fees and lower than other taxi services.On one occasion, I had to call the morning of the pickup due to some last minute computer issues. They were able to push the pickup time back by 15-20 minutes. I decided to use them again on my return from Logan to home. The flight was delayed. When we landed, my cell rang as we were deplaning. I have used them a few times now, and they were on time, and the drivers are pleasant (Enzo, Dan, and I've forgotten the other person's name but all are good)! Highly recommend! read more
