I am with a production company and we are constantly trying to take old photos and re-master them by enhancing their resolution. We can also blow up pictures and make prints but when time is not on your side its hard to find the right business to trust with your photos. Moshen (owner) was more than another business owner trying to make a dime, he actually listened to me and further helped me in trying to manage my task WITHOUT CHARGE. He gave me samples which I needed and also offered to clean up some of the distortion on my photos FREE OF CHARGE. When he was quoting me on the set of photos, Moshen as a courtesy, brought out the list of prices for each dimension and pointed to the $$$ value so that there was no phony business. That feeling you have when you know nothing about framing and sizing but the owner takes care of it and doesn't take advantage of you. Priceless. read more

This place really came through for me! I had a bit of a complex project, I needed several vintage photos retouched, resized, and mounted beautifully for a retirement gift and the Great Frame Up delivered! Sure I could have done a cheesy canvas print, but I wanted something amazing and Mohsen made it happen. My piece came out looking awesome, exactly how I had envisioned, and I can't wait to unveil it at the retirement party! Don't be mistaken though, this place is not a bargain, it's actually on the expensive side when it comes to framers, but if you want the job done right, well, it's gonna cost you. I'm usually a bargain hunter, so this was tough for me, but this was a special project and I wanted a personal perfectionist touch, so I was comfortable paying for it. I too was searching high and low on Yelp to find a reasonable framer... then I found the Great Frame Up! I had gotten several crazy expensive quotes for the 3' x 5' vintage flag I needed framed. Mohsen was very helpful and professional from the get go! I'd never had anything "professionally framed" before, but from the Yelp reviews The Great Frame Up looked promising. I wanted to do one of those frames that had four photos in it, all in a row, but the only frames I could find elsewhere (you know, the 'do it yourself' ones) had only space for three photos. I needed four! So, off I marched to The Great Frame Up with my photos in hand. I knew pretty much what I wanted as far as color scheme of the frame, etc. but I was still open to suggestions from a professional. The two guys there were SO helpful! I explained what I wanted and they pulled up materials and various options that matched my requests and gave me as much time as I needed to put the options around the photos and see which I liked better. They also explained a lot to me about what would probably look best, and then showed me and allowed me to still chose what I wanted. Also, being the novice framer that I am, I didn't realize there were so many 'glass' options!!! I was happy to have those explained to me as well, and I am so, so, so happy with the result! My photos are hanging proudly on my wall and I am in love with them all over again every time I see them in their frame :) As far as price, since I've never gotten framing work done before I really can't compare, but I knew going into it that it wasn't going to be "cheap". It wasn't, but it was done well, and I approve. I do think that sometimes on their website they do have coupons and I definitely should have looked there first to try to save some money. This place is the best! I've had a number of pieces framed there over the last few years, and each time I've been delighted with the results. I just picked up two pieces today, and couldn't be happier with how they look. Mohsen is patient and helpful, and really takes the time to find exactly what you're looking for (and comes up with great suggestions when you're not certain what you want). A couple years ago I took in an original painting I'd previously had framed at The Grey Goose, a very high-end framing shop in Los Angeles. I was never really happy with it, and wanted to try something else. Mohsen must have spent an hour working with me, and finally said he had an idea, if I didn't mind waiting a month or so; he explained that in a few weeks he'd be going out of state to a framing convention, and he thought he could find the perfect thing there. He was right! When he got back and I met with him again, I couldn't believe how beautiful his selection was. It really enhanced the painting, and cost a lot less than what I'd paid the first time around in Los Angeles. I'll never go anywhere else when I need something framed. Just one word of caution: There are a lot of restaurants that share the parking lot with The Great Frame Up, so it's best to avoid going there during the lunch and dinner hours. read more

They have always done a fabulous job for me whether it was stretching my needlework and framing, putting my daughter's artwork in shadow boxes, framing old family photos or framing fine art. Beware "The Great Bait and Switch." I went in to The Great Frame Up for a price quote to frame a vintage poster I had just picked up at an antiques market. The owner asked if my poster was valuable and I told him I paid $40 for it. He quoted me $160 for a simple slim metal poster frame with basic UV glass. I didn't have the poster with me, so I had to return. I noticed they were advertising a "$50 for $100" voucher on Yelp, so I bought one and returned with my poster the next day. It was a different man this time, apparently the co-owner and brother to the first guy. I had done some research and found out that my vintage poster was, in fact, potentially valuable, and I told the second guy as much. He gave me a price quote, with the exact same frame and options, of $240. After much back and forth, he "discovered" that his brother must have based his quote on the "poster frame" price, which did in fact come out at $160. I thought we were talking about a poster frame the whole time, but no matter. He said I could pick it up in two weeks. When he asked how I wanted to pay for it, I told him with a card and I had a Yelp voucher. Imagine my surprise when he refused to take the voucher because, he now said, I was getting a "discounted rate" on the frame. Not once had he or his brother ever said they were quoting me a discounted rate, giving me a promotional offer, or anything similar. I insisted that he honor the price quote and the voucher (which even says on its face: "For the business owner -- Deal must be honored according to terms on voucher. No additional restrictions may be added at time of redemption."). He refused. Instead, he offered to pay me $50 right there for the voucher. When I explained that's not how these deals work, he took the voucher from my hands and started writing a $50 check. I again told him no, snatched the voucher back, and left. If this business wants to drum up customers by selling these deal vouchers through Yelp, they need to realize that they're going to be bound by the terms of the vouchers that are sold and they can't back out whenever it suits them. Stay away unless you want to experience "The Great Bait and Switch." read more
