I love all things Fall! And what's Fall without a visit to a pumpkin patch? I found this place that's about an hour drive from Birmingham. The prices were great for adults. Noticing the price hike for kids though made me feel kinda sorry for those parents wanting to take multiples. It could get expensive real quick. Admission includes a pumpkin and all the fun activities and selfies you want with the various props set up. It also includes a hayride out to the pumpkin field where you choose the one that's coming home with you. Theres a little store onsite, along with food/snack trucks. Since I'm watching what I eat, I did good and didn't purchase anything. I missed the petting zoo on this trip, which just means I will return next year! read more

We had a wonderful time today! Tickets were reasonably priced, and there was tons for our son to do. They have inflatables, petting zoo, a little train, and of course the main event. There is a tractor ride that takes you to and from the pumpkin patch. They had a nice selection of pumpkins, even white ones. Our son chose a cute little white one. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, as well. There were tons of places to sit and relax. Overall a successful day! read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it had its busy moments but compared to other places it was dead . The price for adults is fine but kids they need to knock back to 10 or include a few more items. They price includes the bounce house , petting zoo , pumpkin and hay ride and the lawn games and train . They have announced trampolines, ballon artist , face painting and pony rides but they are all extra . I only know of one other farm that has pony rides and charges extra but also has 2 big play areas and a corn cob crib. It was a pose ant experiment they do take cash and card But they also take Venmo and cash app . They have a couple options for food . Food was good and priced at normal prices 27 bucks got us 2 cheese fries n, 4 hot dogs and 20oz sodas in bottles. The facility's are clean and staff is polite .the country store was nice . The big perk to this place is they opened before October so kudos but they just need to really work on their Marketing and business plans to get People's to come . .. read more

This is such a great place to take kids!! My wife dragged me here because she went in the 1st grade and loved it. She has been begging me for years to take her. It was about an hour drive from Birmingham, but it was worth it. The place is organized with parking attendants, restrooms, food trucks etc. They even have areas set up for photos of the kids. They DONT have a high price photographers that charge you tons of money to take a picture. If you are looking for fall pictures, just bring the family here! They have an ATM on site. The price of admission includes the hayride and a pumpkin. The tractor with trailer picks you up, takes you to the pumpkin patch and drops you off. From there, you grab your favorite pumpkin and get on the next hayride that comes to pick you up. The scenery is gorgeous, the drive is beautiful, and the experience is great for families. Worried the drive is too far? The scenic drive makes the trip even better. The memories you will create for the kids can't be replaced. It's worth it. read more

This was our second visit to the Great Pumpkin Patch in Hayden. We went a couple of years ago when family was visiting from out of town and decided to join some of our friends this year when they organized a community get together. The drive is about 45 minutes or less depending on where you are coming from in Birmingham. Traffic wasn't bad. I was worried it would be incredibly busy on a Saturday at 10 at the beginning of the season, but it wasn't bad at all. The entrance has stands with local arts and crafts to purchase: bows for little girls, outfits for American Dolls, a station to make sand jar art, and other items. We weren't there to shop, so I don't know what the prices were like. If they're anything like the prices of the areas we did visit, it isn't cheap! My kids wanted to do the variety of bouncy houses, but we passed for this visit. There's a concession stand available as well as an area to get pies and other desserts. I was very pleased to see that the have improved the housing of the "petting zoo". When we visited 2 years before, it was a questionable structure and very uninviting. We didn't pay the $2 to visit as we go to the petting zoo at the Birmingham Zoo almost weekly, but I was very happy with the new quarters! We did decide to participate in the elephant rides. Last time we visited it was horseback riding, so we were especially surprised to see "Tiny" and have the option of riding him. It was my grandmothers 88th birthday, so the gentleman were very nice and let her ride at a discount. The charge is $10 per person to ride the elephant with a few other people in 2 small circles. I felt badly for Tiny once we did spend some time observing the activity, but I hope the $$ goes to taking good care of him. Other activities include a trampoline activity and a couple of other carnival like rides. I noticed face painting and a pretend train activity too. We, of course, did the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. It's $3 to ride out or $9 to ride out and get a pumpkin. Nice selection of pumpkins to choose from and beautiful area to swing or look out at the country views. Overall, the Great Pumpkin Patch is Ok. I'm not in a rush to go back. It's a fun Fall weekend activity, but too pricey for this mama. We may go back in a few years but obviously not in a rush. Make sure you take cash or your ATM card!! read more

My little ones came for a field trip with their church daycare. There was a lot to do and overall had a good time. The reason for the rating is because a bus load of children and parents arrived shortly after and a couple of them caused problems at multiple levels. Cursing, swearing, threatening people with aggressive behavior, cutting in lines - all of which occurred in front of the owner who did NOTHING about it. She literally witnessed it as I pointed it out and opted instead to coward from the situation. I was tempted to call the cops but opted instead to leave and not return. If a place of business can not protect their customers (especially if those customers are preschool aged children) then it has no business being in business. Its a shame. read more

Overpriced food is to be expected, but to pay individually for the petting zoo and the hayride and the pumpkin etc. was a little excessive. Also it is 10 miles off the highway on side road. I've been to nicer. read more
