Every time I shop at the Green Barn, I am delightfully surprised with new additions and products offered. This place has become more than just a place where I can shop for fresh produce. I can now buy dairy, eggs, locally raised meats, fish, frozen local berries, local honey, bulk nuts, granola, flour, candy, etc, as well as fresh deli meats and cheeses. Recently they started carrying beer and wine and everyone's favorite Edaleen dairy ice cream. One of the best parts about The Green Barn is now you can have a sit down lunch and order from a variety of panini's, sandwiches, salads, or smoothies. I recently purchased two cases of Elberta peaches. I trusted Dave to know the produce he sells. More than half were a total loss. Many were were green and rotten all at the same time. Many were brown and smashed on the bottom of the box. I paid $95 for the two boxes but I didnt inspect the peaches before paying for them. My stupidity. I'll never spend another dollar there again. I trust a produce guy should know what he's pawning off on the public. Honestly the most awful peaches I've EVER bought. read more

First visit.. we pass by all the time but today we noticed their signs for wagyu beef so that brought us in. Lots of friendly and helpful staff and stocked full of local stuff! Great produce and meat selection! Even local baked goods. Definitely grabbed some stuff to try! My husband has been unhappy with his steaks from the usual places of late so we are in search of a new source! Stay tuned.. maybe this is it?!! Love this place, have been getting produce here since they were at the old location and it just gets better. They carry local for what they can and responsible for the rest. There is a great bulk section and lots of Dutch specialties that can be hard to find. I have never ran into an employee here that didn't genuinely seem happy to help. The deli is fantabulous! From the staff working the counter to the quality and flavor of the food everything is amazing. Today we had lunch while our tires were being taken care of, one of us got a half turkey bacon guacamole sandwich with a smoothie and I got a half an Italian. We also got some little chocolate ball things that were made from healthy ingredients but were oh so good. They are fast too we sat and watched as they helped guest after guest get great food with minimal wait. read more

My friend and I stopped in here to shop for produce, and were shocked to see anti-gay marriage literature being distributed on the check-out stand! We spoke to the manager and politely informed them that we were offended by the "Reject Ref. 71" Domestic Partnerships literature. They stated that they support the cause nonetheless. We left and will not return. I recommend that anyone who believes in American values, Equality, Justice and Fairness not give their dollars to this establishment. read more

0 stars. I used to shop here because they had vegan items. I am thoroughly done after this week. Owner never wears mask all the way up and this week two people in there with no masks and employees don't give a crap about it. Nothing new since when the state first suggested masks last spring they didn't wear them. This is a fresh produce market and you stock without being masked properly and allow customers without masks to lean over produce. They have a lot of elderly customers, so shame on them. Can't wait for Youngstocks to open. read more

Just called and confirmed that they used to have anti gay literature at check out stands when 'something was up on the ballot' according to someone I spoke to in the office. This place is an absolute hidden gem for the heath nut!!! They have a wonderful little grocery store and a sandwich shop on the side with smoothies. Everything looked amazing! Forget your fancy, pricey food co-op. I have lived in big cities and small and this is it the best place I have ever shopped. They are not a full grocery, they specialize in produce, and carry some local dairy products and lose bulk foods like granola and wheat. The owners are always friendly and helpful. If I want to know what oranges are the best I will get a description of all of them. They buy as much locally grown stuff as they can. This means I get lettuce grown down the street when it's in season. They are CHEAP....I am always astonished at how little it costs me when I leave. I go here once a week to do a good share of my grocery shopping. Did I mention how much I like to buy from a local family rather then a giant Corporation. I noticed an early review saying they were shocked to see anti-gay marriage literature. American values include the right to express your own opinion. I disagree with them on this but love them anyway....They have many many good assets. read more

The Green Barn!! Where do I start..it's been here in Lynden for a good 20 years or so and worth the trip to it everytime. Their prices are much better than grocery stores, their produce is mostly local, the have bins loaded with anything you could want, from nuts, fruits, csndies, spices, cereals, anything! Fresh Lynden Dutch Bakery products, fresh fruit and Vegies, low priced gourmet cheeses, I recommend Yancys. Fancy cheese from The Fingerlakes. Region in Northeast...I love the place!! read more

My family was looking all over the county for an organic, hormone free, free range turkey... every place was sold out. Called Green Barn and was helped out with a turkey from their own stash. I love this place!! I've decided to never buy fruit or veggies anywhere else. Safeway is ok for quality, price is iffy. Walmart's price is good, but quality sucks!! We HAD to go to Walmart today & I asked my husband to stop at Green Barn for potatoes for Sunday dinner. The lights were on, as we walked up to the door, I told my husband about the wonderful customer service these guys have. A couple of months ago I went in for my weekly veggies and their Internet was down, they couldn't take credit cards. I only had credit. They said I could write a check or come back "later" to pay. ON THE HONOR SYSTEM! I wrote a check. When we got to the door, it was locked. A wonderful employee, who had come in said they were closed on Sundays, "but what do you need?". I told him just potatoes. He said come in, get what you need. Thank you so much!! I told him that if I didn't get them there, it was Walmart. He said, "No. Not Walmart!" The last time I got potatoes at Walmart, I had to throw 1/3 away. I have never thrown anything I bought here away. Quality is 9-10 always. Living in Birch Bay , we were customers at the Green Barn since it was in the original location . It was always friendly , the owner always greeted us with a smile and a " how's it going ? " until I decided to let my hair grow longer ( I'm in music production ) then he snubbed us , made us feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable , had us followed through the store . So I stumbled across this great place by accident. My daughter and I were in the area looking to grab lunch. The deli food was superb. All organic and freshly made. We had turkey avocado sandwiches on Rosemary bread and a basil strawberry orange juice smoothy. Also their fresh lemonade was amazing. I have got produce here and it does not last more then a day, I have also got apples and such and when cutting open it's been rotten inside. I have had a bag of cherrys and the inside was all molded. Also be careful to check dates as they do not pull old off shelfs! I quit spending money here and go one block down to the Safeway store where it is not expired and get a better price to! read more
