    Roast Beast sandwich.
    Norm W.

Having never really been to Lynden we drove down there from our place just north of the border and picked this place to stop for lunch. There appear to be quite a few eateries around, but we are glad we picked the Avenue. The place is cool inside, and from the looks of the place, it's always hectic. We don't mind ordering at the counter and awaiting our foods arrival, as it's quite European in nature. I settled on the BLT and added another T with a turkey addition. The lovely K had the basic Roast beef sandwich. Both came with potato chips and appeared to be quite large on the plate. They were indeed as we both finished half and got a takeaway box for the balance. My BLTT was excellent, although I did find the chips a little greasy. The lovely K found her sandwich to be just a bit less tasty, hence the four stars. All in all a place we would come to again, as it appears to be good value for the money, a pleasant atmosphere and a cool concept. Thank for a really nice lunch.

It's been awhile since we have been here and the expectation has always been very high so unfortunately it's only 4 stars today. Everything is still very very good just not above and beyond (which was their usual). Everything tasted good, employees here are very patient, hardworking and kind. It's a very charming and quaint local chain. Large menu variety breakfast til 11 and then lunch, sandwiches and baked goods.

We ordered a blood orange mimosa and a coffee with Irish cream. After paying the waitress told us they did not have the Irish Cream and they refunded that portion of the order. They did make my husband a hot coffee with Irish syrup (free of charge) which was delicious. Vey nice and friendly staff.

Cool setting for sure. The renovation that they did and the buildout is quite cool. There is some meeting space available. Which is always good. The bread is fantastic! Overall good on their food, I do think they're trying a little bit hard to be bougie... You basically go put your order in and serve yourself. They do bring the food your table, but you bus your own tables and get your own drinks and stuff like that. It's always seemed odd to me with so much staff there.

The country eggenue and the chocolate croissant were perfect to share.

Our first breakkie in Lynden and it was perfect. Hubs and I had the country eggenue and chocolate croissant. We were supposed to share... but hubs attacked the delicious croissant. Food was fresh and yummy. Service was quick and everyone is so nice. Quiet little place on Front Street but has a large area for seating upstairs and down. Can't wait to come back here again and again. Highly recommend.

Needs more meat for $15.50 + $1 for extra sprouts that I paid

Delicious sandwiches and breads. My first visit since they transferred ownership. The front desk gals were very friendly. My only disappointment was in the amount of meat in my gourmet turkey sandwich. I ordered extra sprouts for $1 extra. I love lots of lettuce but I feel there should have been more meat especially for the price you're paying. Hopefully this isn't how the sandwiches normally look...

Absolutely love this place and everything about it - the rustic decor and relaxed ambience, friendliness of staff and food! We wanted to have some nice coffee and breakfast so found this place and loved it! We ordered 2 plates of food and 2 latte - total with tip USD $28. Pretty good deal for such an amazing food and hospitality! Thank you for your kindness and for making us feel welcome

This was the most magnificent breakfast place that was recommended to us from our hotel that is attached to this restaurant. I was overwhelmed by the menu, and I wish I had quite some time to stare at the menu before I had ordered however, I was quite happy with what I got. I wish I could go back several times over to get different things. This place does not disappoint, but make sure you go there early because it's very busy. I got the haystack, and it was amazing

Did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious. The Chuckwagon burger was amazing, full of flavor. Kids grilled cheese was a hit as well. We will definitely be back.

We came to town to check out the road up to the border from Bellingham, then stopped to explore. After walking from the museum to the windmill, and part way back, it was time for lunch. This place smelled so good with the fresh bread. We were very pleased with our sandwiches. The bread was, of course, very fresh and the ingredients and quanities perfect and served with chips. You order at the front (see photo of order board) and then find a table, upstairs, main floor and out doors. The food is delivered to your number. We each took home half a sandwich for the next day.

Cute little place on a cute downtown main street. How it works: Place your order at the counter. Go find a table (inside or outside). They bring you your food. If you need napkins, condiments or a cup of water you will need to go up and get them yourselves. You clean your own table. What we ordered: - Beef Dip - Sweet & Savory Grilled Cheese (a special of the month) What we thought: - The Beef Dip was really good! The flavors of the meat and onions was yummy. The bread was crunchy and the au jus was warm and tasty. - The Sweet and Savory Grilled Cheese sounded great on paper but was completely tasteless. We were so incredibly disappointed. There was hardly any cheese. The peach chutney was meh at best and the ciabatta bread was nothing to write home about. Certainly a cute little place but it wasn't worth the 25 minutes of standing in line. Was this a normal experience or just a one off? Being my first time here I'm not sure but because the experience was not that great we probably won't be back to give it another try.

Good service, good food, but disappointing that they serve only one kind of soup... ever. Food is great and so are the Mimosas.

A local favorite, a little bit off the beaten path, but worse looking for it. Very friendly and timely service, really good food, and a great menu that everybody will find something on that they like. If you're vegan, that last comment may be inaccurate ;-). You gotta try the milkshakes, this reminds me of what I was used to growing up at some of the great family restaurants in the 1970s. Outstanding! The interior of the restaurant is decorated with an eclectic Western theme and your eyes will never get tired of looking for all the details. Our granddaughter loved it! And so did the grandparents and my dad. We'll be back.

The horse radish was pretty generic and didn't have any "punch" to it. The Caesar salad lettuce was a bit wilted and too much dressing. The loaded baked potato was okay. My son enjoyed his clam chowder. The pot pie was rather small for $20! It was not enjoyed. Unfortunately, a frozen Marie Calendars is better. Two people ordered this and didn't eat them all. Salad bar is pretty underwhelming. The star here is the peanut butter chocolate shake! Yum! Service was attentive and friendly. Parking: Quite a few spots that go all the way around the building, but was a bit full on a Friday night.

The turkey bacon Caesar wrap on a spinach tortilla was just okay, but the fries were a win. The Reuben sandwiches were a bit underwhelming for us--slightly dry and could've used more flavor. On the flip side, the French dip was great--easily the standout of the meal. Service was top notch--attentive, friendly, and exactly what you hope for. Plenty of easy parking (huge bonus), and the setting is hard to beat--right on the golf course with beautiful, open views that make it a great spot to relax and hang out for a while. The miso taste was quite mild. The Brussels sprouts were tasty, and the rice good. The amazing sauce brought it all together. I ate the entire plate, which surprised my wife. Service was very good. Although it was at capacity, and the games were on the TVs at the bar (with volume way down or off), it was not too noisy, so my wife and I could talk easily without shouting.
