Lots of organic things to find here, like lots of organic skin and body lotions and potions and it's a very nice change from those regular pharmacies! Top of the morning! read more

On the lower level of DJ's arcade you'll find a huge chemist full of all the usual medications and whatnot, as well as a HUGE selection of Vitamins, beauty, skin, hair and body care. It's almost physically impossible to leave this place without an armful of stuff (well, for me, anyway). Bonus: prices are freakin' good. The beauty/ fragrance section is pretty extensive, though nowhere near as good as my old local in Fitzroy in Melbourne that stocked Dior and YSL cosmetics for the cheapest prices I've seen ANYWHERE, but hey... you can't have everything I guess.

I went there right after they were on one of those current affairs shows about cheap prescriptions and ended up waiting 40 minutes for a '10 minute' prescription. Stockings, when you have a poorly timed ladder, anti-static spray when your new skirt won't behave itself, toothpaste and a toothbrush when you accidently come to work without brushing your teeth (never good in hospitality). I may have filled scripts here a few times and the service has always been fine but I get the distinct impression this is a pharmacy that more often than not caters for the aforementioned incidentals. As such they have a good assortment of miscellanious stuff and the prices tend to be favourable, especially if you catch one of their sales!

I frequent this pharmacy for a few reasons, the staff are helpful for a start, and they have a…read morepretty decent range of pharmaceutical items that I use but the main reason is the fellow who runs the show, Nicholas and his attitude towards helping the community. Over a long period of time, several years at least, he has been very supportive of some of the more marginalised groups in the overall social mix, to the extent that he has been involved in distributing medicines to folk who could only ever get their medicine from a hospital in the past. Thanks to the support of Nick Russell these particular folk are able to avoid the long wait in a hospital setting and collect their meds here. I like that, it is helpful and community minded, it assists these people, their carers and families, and it also lessens the load on the Pharmacy at the hospital. The whole thing is a welcome win/win situation. The usual products you can get in a pharmacy are all here. Lip gloss, band aids, vitamins, nail clippers... the list goes on. The other thing that is good is the fact that it is part of the Central Market so it is all under cover and that can be a handy thing. If you go shopping at the Central Markets you can actually park your car upstairs in the car park for pretty reasonable rates, so you can buy medicines, fresh produce and do it all in the cool comfort under cover. That is great in a place like Adelaide where the summers get extremely hot and dry.

I am not great with technology however I literally stood there while a staff member abused me and the manager said nothing. Honestly I should have walked out of the store without making a purchase. And... for the Aussie drugstore makeup lover, our 'Mecca' is surprisingly not Mecca at all... it's Priceline, baby! Stocking some of my faves such as Australis, Maybelline, Real Techniques, Bourjois & Rimmel, Priceline is a one-stop beauty blogger paradise. For a number of reasons the Myer Centre location tends to be my fave Priceline store in the city. First of all, I feel like it has the largest range of makeup brands of the three CBD stores (Gawler Place, Hindley Street & Myer Centre) **I will note that I feel the skincare range is larger at Gawler Place**. I also find that, as this store is near one of my other makeup havens (MYER), it's just a handy locale. Additionally, being open both Saturday & Sunday and until 7 during the week makes it a little more convenient. Finally, the staff are super friendly and willing to help. Always a massive winner in my books! So go get your affordable glam on folks!

Do they think you're shoplifting or something? The same was very tight-lipped and silent when I picked up my script and attempted conversation. I can only assume it's snobbery and I do not appreciate being at the lower end of a two-tier customer service status system. It's not all of them but enough to make shopping here an unpleasant experience.

The Terry White…read moreChemist on Marion Road at Marion isn't my local chemist but I stopped by with a friend recently who needed to fill a prescription and discovered that this is one hell of a first rate pharmacy. When it came to filling the prescription, the service was friendly and prompt. We were told there would be a 10 minute wait but I really don't think we waited longer than 5 minutes. In addition to their normal dispensary they had a Compounding Pharmacy. This was a sterile area with a window open to public viewing where a trained pharmacist mixed lotions and potions to create tailor made medicines. Apparently they can make medications for people as well as animals! The Compounding Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm but you can leave your prescription at the main pharmacy desk during their extended hours of 7 days a week between 8.30am and 9pm (except Sunday mornings when they open at 9am) While we were waiting for my friend's prescription to be filled we actually had a play with their in store blood pressure monitor. Good fun and interesting but be careful how tightly you put the testing device around your arm because it gets tighter and tighter as it measures you're blood pressure. This chemist has a great range of gifts and cards if you're looking for a last minute present and everything else is closed. There's perfume, makeup, baby products, and the usual chemist fare on offer. They also offer other services like prescription delivery in the local area and a fast refill service if you're having a repeat filled. Just leave your script on file and ring ahead. See what I mean ... great chemist!

As much as I love this shop, I hate the way it looks on Jetty Road. Anyway, you can find anything in here for your health, well being and beauty at an amazingly cheap price. There are rows and rows of products from floor to ceiling and a discount pharmacy for prescriptions right down the very back. On top of all the usual discounted products, there is a row of further marked down items as you wind your way along the checkout line. This chemist is particularly good for brand label fragrances at prices even cheaper than Duty Free. Always pick up a catalogue as you walk in to browse through current sales. If like me, you buy a lot of supplements, you probably won't find them cheaper anywhere else and they have a huge range to choose from which is really impressive. If you are female, I dare you to go in here and not buy anything.

Prescriptions are promoted as being 50% cheaper and they also have two other big claims. 'Australia's cheapest chemist' and 'Never be beaten on price'. There is a clear system for dropping off, collecting and paying for prescriptions which allows them to deal with a lot of people in a fluid manner. It's fun browsing here as the range is huge. Vitamins, supplements, perfume, dental, haircare, makeup, first aid and so much more. It's so busy that I just recommend not going in if you've got a headache, unless of course you're going to buy a headache remedy - they've got plenty of those!
