I went to Phoenix for Trauma Recovery, only lasted 1 day. During my initial assessment Lindsi said…read morethey separate their groups into males and females. I was excited to hear it; that was going to be my first question because it's important to me. Studies show women participate more and heal more deeply, in women only groups. Lindsi and I talked about how important that is. She made several statements that she "gets it". I started a week later, to discover about half my group is men. When asked about it, Lindsi, who had been previously super responsive, didn't respond at all. It took 3 texts, and needing to talk before group, that got her to responded; saying 'sorry for the confusion, call the front desk and they'll explain'. The front desk explained their groups have never been separated by sex. It's clear, Lindsi lied. That was also my last day at Phoenix; neither Lindsi nor anyone else, attempted to make contact with me. I know a lot of IOPs lie to get people enrolled. They expect us to quietly deal, to put up with it; especially the trauma victims. We tend to not advocate for ourselves and they take advantage of that. There should be severe repercussions for such behavior. I was an admitted patient, they have an ethical responsibility to at least refer me to another program. Since they made zero contact, they failed at this as well. I saw a few things during my one day that weren't very "trauma informed". Like forcing a woman to move her chair back from a place she felt more comfortable (she was just 2' back). A male patient that was hyper-focused (stalker style) on talking to a female patient who was obviously trying to walk away. And, they lied about not being able to email me forms, yet I signed a document that said I agree, those same forms are just as valid if transmitted by email. Another oddball thing, during my assessment, Lindsi noticed a similarly in the name of my street and hers. She then told me the name of the street she lives on, the city, her mother's street name, that her mother lives in the same neighborhood, and the name of her elementary school. What!?! That's not a good idea, we're strangers. We need to hold places like Phoenix to account, or they'll re-traumatize their own patients. I plan to file a complaint with the Utah Dept. of Health and Human Services, and encourage anyone else with complaints to do the same. He asked the psychiatrist if it would affect his libido. This is the one thing he most cared about. The psychiatrist told him point blank that it would not. So when it inevitably did (three days into taking the medication), we googled the medication ourselves. One of the top side effects is decreased libido. This is why my husband does not trust doctors. And he now refuses to go see a different mental health doctor. The small amount of trust I helped garner for him for the medical field is gone. The hope I had in helping him with his anxiety is gone. When I called in to cancel his next appointment and I voiced my complaint to the front desk and asked that it be passed on to management. Connor, who was working the front desk seemed very dismissive. There was no apology offered on behalf of their wellness center. Our next appointment was simply canceled. The mental wellness of their patients was not taken seriously. The satisfaction of their customers was completely disregarded. I do not recommend this facility.

I had a terrible second experience trying to get in for imaging with Rayus Radiology…read more A family member had been in the Heart & Lung Center ICU and was taken such great care of by the staff there that I decided to use IHC after my Rayus experience. Although it was a bit of a back and forth communication match to get approved through my personal insurance and get my imaging orders verified from my neurosurgeon, I was finally able to set an appointment with IHC's Radiology department. When I arrived the day of my appointment there were 3 women at the front desk. No one greeted me. I had to greet them first and say good morning. Not one of them answered me back. I said I had an appointment as I approached the two women to my left and the woman sitting down turned and asked the young lady on the other computer if she could take care of me. I was given paperwork to fill out and taken back to change and await imaging. The one saving grace of my experience was the radiology tech. He is the reason I wanted to write this review. He made me laugh from the moment he came to pick me up for imaging. He asked questions to ensure he understood my chart and answered my own questions. He made me feel comfortable immediately. He made sure he talked with me throughout my MRI so that I knew what was being done and what we had left to do. Which is the first time any tech has done so for me. It seemed to make my scan go faster when he updated me like that. I'm usually just sitting in there with my earplugs in or music playing the whole time. His name was John and he was from Memphis. He had some amazing tattoos on his arms and he just moved to Salt Lake a few months ago. John, I appreciate you! Thank you, for being you.

Working with Heather, I have never felt more empowered, listened to, understood, and validated about the issues I have going on in my life. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented it's almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help.. not here.. She (my friend) met with them only to be pressured to join their program and going so far as to convey she would never get better if she refused to join. Now, I know some programs are great in helping someone in need, however, everyone is different!! What works for one person may not work for another. My friend was very willing to work with a therapist with Pathways (that willingness is 1/2 the battle and should be seized upon!) but on her own terms...not in a program that was so extensive that she'd have to miss work. They did not seem to like that. I find that odd to say the least. My friend had lots of questions that were met with lots of words but none of which answered those questions. Vague answers are NOT a good sign of a counseling center you could trust. Transparency is crucial! Another concern...no follow-up. Promises of calling my friend were unmet. When she called them they said they had called and left a voicemail. She checked and saw no indication of a call from them. Despite this my friend tried again speaking with a representative at Pathways but again no help. I don't know if places such as Pathways Real Life Recovery are regulated. If they're not they certainly should be! Read past employee reviews on Indeed...kinda scary. As far as I'm concerned, they failed my dear friend. Glad they may have helped others but if I were you I'd investigate this place thoroughly before getting involved with them.
