Sometimes, just for a quick and local getaway, we'll stay a couple of days at local inns around our area. This time we stayed at the GreenHouse Inn by the Bay in Sequim. They have several units to choose from, but we chose the "Perch", which was the largest. It didn't disappoint! We didn't even use half the space! Currently, check-in is anytime after 2:00pm. We checked ourselves in and upon entering, found a spacious "home"! Divided by a set of stairs, there is a murphy bed (sleeps 2), bath & shower, dining area and full kitchen to the left. On the dining table was a lovely note addressed to us by the hosts Craig & Michelle, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a bowl of granola bars. Then, in the refrigerator, there was a nicely adjourned box nestled with yogurts, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a small bottle of Prosecco (for mimosas) and chocolate! We turned around and on the kitchen counter was a plate of local pastries! In the room on the other side of the stairs is another bedroom (sleeping 2-3), king bed, full bath and sitting area with coffee maker and coffee pods. Downstairs by the front door is a living room with TV, comfy couch & chair, wet bar, small fridge and washer/dryer! As everyone knows, with a home or business, there will always be times of repair and/or construction. Currently, the upper deck is being repaired, so we weren't able to take advantage of that. Instead, we took a long walk along the water, watched the eagles soar overhead, waved at people passing by and enjoyed the fresh sea air! Eating at local restaurants is always a plus and enjoying wine in the evenings watching the sun lower gently on the horizon out of sight made this trip, along with our fabulous hosts, Craig & Michelle, all worthwhile. Super responsive hosts Craig and Michele. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Perch that is perfect for 2 couples. Unit was clean, nicely appointed, and as a bonus had a great TV lounge and private patio outside in the backyard (great for happy hours). It was fun watching the deers stroll by and seeing the greenhouse and veggies they tend. Highly recommend. read more

From the moment I pulled up until the sad moment I had to drive away, Craig went out of his way to make me feel so welcome! I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay here! For starters, Craig is the friendliest and most knowledgeable of hosts! Every tip he gave me, from dining to activities, was spot on! And the conversation was so warm and fun! I looked forward to it! Made me feel like I was staying with family! And his cooking...omg it was impeccable! Mushroom omelettes, scones, fresh fruit, polenta! Every day was a surprise and a culinary masterpiece to start the day off right! Not to mention gorgeous bay views from the breakfast room. And his wife, Michele, is also a sommelier! The grounds are just incredible. It's a very large property right on Dungeness Bay. You look out across the bay at Dungeness Spit (the largest natural spit in the US!) from the front, and from the back you can see snow-capped mountains in the distance. They also have a large field in the back where the bald eagles and deer play in the mornings along side their chickens by the greenhouse. I stayed in the Bay View East room...if you can, GET THIS ROOM! It was huge and had an almost 180 degree view of the bay right from the bed! Not to mention a large balcony with comfy seating area. It had a fireplace that lit up with the touch of a button. It also had a small TV with streaming services but I didn't use it at all. The bathroom was also large and elegant, with ample space for all my grooming utensils and toiletries. Everything was spotless! There's also a shared kitchen upstairs for guest use (but the stove/oven is only for boiling the kettle I believe - there was a sign indicating this). If you're in the area, stay here! You will love it! I can't wait to come back for another visit and will definitely be staying here again! read more

We stayed at the Greenhouse Inn for four nights as part of our honeymoon to ONP, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. As every other reviewer has said, Craig is an incredible host and chef! We loved the morning multi-course breakfasts, which were beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and also balanced and healthy. Craig is a fantastic host who is truly interested in each of his guests, and we loved chatting with him each morning over breakfast. And as a young, non-white couple, we felt welcomed from the minute we stepped on the property, which is not always the case when we travel to rural parts of the country. The property itself is situated in a gorgeous area, with the Dungeness Bay to the north and the Olympic Mountains to the south. We were in the Bay West room, and saw THREE bald eagles from our window as we were checking in! Each room has a private balcony, and there are also beautiful vistas from the common areas of the house, so you can get a glimpse of the mountains if you're in a Bay room, and vice versa. There is a common kitchen with tea, coffee, drinking water, a sink, table and fridge, although stovetop cooking isn't allowed. As others have mentioned, there is a gorgeous sunken library and greenhouse, as well as a telescope facing the bay in the common area. The location was great for views and sunsets over the bay, and also for proximity to the park and amenities. It's about an hour drive to the entrance of ONP, and 2.5h to Hoh Rainforest. Although it's not as close as Port Angeles, we're glad we stayed here since we had fantastic views and there are a lot of nearby restaurants and coffee shops in Sequim (tip -- go to Hardy's nearby for deli sandwiches and provisions for park days). I was in the area for a two day wedding reception and whale watching event. I knew I had a heavy weekend of socializing ahead so I savored the down time where I could sleep in, lounge, catch up on some work, and enjoy nature all in my pajamas if I so chose. Craig is the most gracious host. He is curious and genuinely cares about the stories we carry and bring as we cross his path for a night or more. I've been around eager hosts who have needed to share or talk. Craig has no such need. He simply creates space for you while being highly respectful of your own space. He is interested and talkative without being overwhelming. All the amenities and creature comforts were 5 stars, including the self check in process, comfort of the bed, cleanliness of the space, the breakfasts, and the location. Side note, breakfast is at 8 or 9. The first morning I decided to sleep in. I stumbled downstairs past 10 looking for leftovers. I wondered if there might be a muffin or a fruit I could grab. Instead Craig welcomed me to sit as he prepared a hot breakfast just for me. And it was delicious. read more

Great location overseeing the bay. Peaceful environment. Craig was generous enough to pack up breakfast for us when we couldn't make it for breakfast due to our early check out from the inn. Although we were caught in the smoke from the West Coast fires, Craig made sure this stay was extremely memorable. The Greenhouse Inn is a quintessential lodging option of Sequim and the Dungeness Bay, the Greenhouse Inn offers the wanted relaxation while being close enough for any northern peninsula excursion. The Greenhouse Inn is a fabulous get away nestled right by the picturesque Dungeness Bay. The Bayview East room offered the perfect balance of comfort and tranquillity. The views from the large windowed room are great and waking up to the sunrise is pretty unforgettable. The property offers great public space to talk with the hosts and other guests. You'll find yourself walking through the onsite greenhouse with a child like curiosity. The location is close enough for a trip into town for a great meal or to shop around, yet far enough away you see very little traffic. My husband and I spent one night at The Green House Inn. What a lovely home and fantastic hosts. The home had many gathering area possibilities including a lovely greenhouse that I could tell later in the spring and summer would be full of flowers and veggies. We had a lovely room overlooking the Dungeness Spit. Our room was decorated so welcoming, loved the fire place touch in the corner. We had a fabulous breakfast! Really pretty place to stay across the street from Dungeness Bay! Craig and Michelle are very friendly and hospitable hosts, and make wonderful breakfast with locally sourced fruits and veggies. Much of it came from their yard and greenhouse garden, which is fun to walk through. Our room was very nice, comfortable and spotless, with a lovely view of the bay. I had a chance to stay at the GreenHouse Inn in April 2015. It's a beautiful property, very professionally run by Craig and Michele. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The location is on the coast about 7 minutes from downtown Sequim - far enough to get a sense of seclusion, but close enough to head into town for dinner or drinks. You can get a sense for what makes Sequim special along the way. I can't say enough positive things about the owners. They really work hard to make your time at GreenHouse to feel like a retreat. Highly recommend setting aside an hour to have a glass of wine with Craig and Michele when you arrive. Breakfast was fresh and prepared with care. We'll be headed back soon. read more

Our room had views of both the mountains and the bay. Both the bed and private bath with deep soaking tub where luxurious. The room had a private balcony as well to enjoy the mountain and ocean air and large sitting area to relax. We enjoyed a tasty bottle of wine and fantastic conversation. We also enjoyed our delicious breakfast while watching the ships crossing and the kayakers in the bay. Great restaurants in town as well. Most has already been said - this is a first class B&B. If I was to describe the perfect B&B this would be very close. Very clean, well fitted with excellent quality bed/bedding and lots of additional 'living space'. Breakfast was not your normal 'help yourself buffet'- but was very well prepared and presented and suited our tastes. Craig was extremely helpful - going beyond the normal B&B host. In Washington on a somber occasion, we booked this BnB on a chance. Craig and Michelle were terrific hosts. Their lobby is welcoming, with plenty of seating to enjoy the fireplace, a cozy wine tasting area awaits, fantastic views of Dungeness Bay were right out our bedroom windows (with a nice balcony and seating), and their breakfasts are not to be missed. While our two rooms are primarily set up for couples, Craig brought in an additional single bed into each that fit our needs. At departure, the owners went out of their to ensure we had snacks to take with us as we had a very early flight to catch back in Seattle. I don't know if or when I'll be back to this area. However, if I do The Green House Inn by the Bay will be on the top of list as the place to stay. read more

We visited the Greenhouse Inn by the Bay in December of 2013. This was our first time to the area of Sequim. It is an easy, scenic drive from Seattle. Even in December, the weather was in the 40s and quite comfortable. The B&B was a great location. Across the street is the Bay and there are views of the mountains surrounding the B&B. We took a short walk to the Dungess Spit, where you can walk for miles. We spent a day in Sequim, a fun town with neat shops, bakery, and local coffee shop. One day we took a trip to Port Townsend, a neat artsy town with shops, antique stores,and restaurants. The B&B was perfect for my husband, nephew, and I. It is large but has a comfy,cozy feel to it. We definitely will go back to explore all the things we didn't have time for; Hurricane Ridge, kayaking ,hiking, and enjoying the area more! Kasey read more

My boyfriend and I took our first trip to Sequim, Washington and had our first stay at the GreenHouse Inn by the Bay. Our trip was around Thanksgiving, but the weather felt far from typical fall temperatures. Sequim is surrounded by the gorgeous Olympic Mt. Range which creates the "Blue Hole," basically a lot of sunshine. The Inn was literally across the street from Dungeness Bay and has a great view of the ocean. We were close enough to walk our kayaks from the inn to the boat launch. We had a wonderful paddle with calm waters and blue skies around the bay. The inn itself was on a huge piece of land with landscaping and of course a colorful greenhouse. The bed and breakfast had several rooms with varying views of the mountains, countryside and the ocean. It felt clean, the decor was funky, and very comfortable. I especially liked the nooks around the house where I was able to curl up with my books and enjoy the views and some amazing blankets. There were wine tastings available in a very cool library area, but we were unfortunately unable to take advantage of that due to time. All in all, definitely worth a trip! read more
