    Toilet vs door
    Janet C.

We stayed here for my daughter's golf tournament. The room was very clean but still outdated. For example, most modern hotels have beds with a board on the bottom so one can't crawl or stuff can't accidentally go under the bed. This one doesn't so my puppy was able to crawl from one side to the other. Also I couldn't open the door to the bathroom or shut the door until I lifted the toilet seat because the toilet seat cover was too long. We had a room facing the street and it was LOUD. Lots of cars drove by even at 5 am! I really wanted to cancel and leave after the first night but they don't allow you to cancel without 48 hours notice. Thank goodness we only had to stay for two nights.

The next day after I asked the staff to please clean it. You can see one small whiter spot so you can see scrubbing works.

Stay away. 1. Safety issue!! Desk closes at 10. After then, they will leave the key in an unlocked room for you to find. The motel is on a busy road and anyone can be in your room!! Scary. There is no staff there after hours and no one to call for issues. Summer sunset is at 9:00. Light remains until 10. Not accommodating to travelers. Office opens at 9:00 AM when we were already out for the day. 2. SEVERE Mold issues in the shower. Emailed, texted and left a message. No response! Some minimal scrubbing was done the next day but most of the mold remained. I used a towel so I did not have to step on the disgusting floor. YUCK and YIKES (Scary).

The giant house spider we took outside from our room.

The place was not worth our money. The shower was warm never hot. Which is needed especially in the colder months. The bed sheets were extremely thin and we were freezing at night so we had to turn on the heater to 74 degrees. The first night we settled in and there was a "Giant House Spider" that was crawling around which was very scary! My bf and I caught it and threw it outside. Also the front desk person "Daniel" was so unprofessional and extremely rude to my bf and I because we had pets and our reservation/room that we made online was supposedly not pet friendly. It didn't say anything about specific rooms being pet friendly. Which the online reservation to the hotel said pet friendly, that's all. So the room we booked wasn't and we were coming in late night and we asked if we would get charged more on the room and Daniel asked the manger/owner if we could possibly not get charged for the 15 per night extra for pets and the manager/owner said no. As we complained about being charged extra and how we needed to decided if we even wanted to stay there we told Daniel we'd call back. Literally 8min later Daniel calls us asking if we are going to cancel or not in a very rude tone the entire conversation. At this point I was not having it (especially after we told him we call him back Just a few minutes before). So I told him that we still had time to think about it and as I was talking Dainel rudely cut me off and kept saying they close at 10pm so he needed to know now. Which the time was 9:15pm! At this point I was rude back because what the hell! I told him we still have 45min and I had to speak over him as he continued to try to cut me off. So I told him we would call him back when we figure it out and we didn't need to tell him right then because they didn't close until 10pm. Extremely rude and unprofessional to speak to us that way. I've been in customer service for a while and no way would I ever do this to a customer/paying guest. Since we didn't have another other place to go and we didn't have much money to spend we had to stay here and get charged 45$ extra for our dogs when the reservation didn't say we would be charged more. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

A surprising gem. Very nice room with kitchenette and two bedrooms. Clean and really comfy beds. I look forward to staying here again.

The most bonkers slow internet I've ever used in a hotel. It was like being transported back to dial up. Place has a funny smell.

Our room was the smallest I believe at $175 a night, kinda pricey but you are facing the awesome bay views and can walk the beach with the stair access right across the street. They allowed dogs $35 per night extra so that was another perk. It was all self contained with kitchen but the fridge was an inconvenient mini fridge yet a full size stove/oven & microwave. The queen bed is also in the small room. Bathroom was tight with no shelves to unpack makeup/personals, no tub just shower. It did have a carport with bench and table/chairs for warmer weather. It did have a huge nice tv although tricky to use. There was a none big lawn area behind the cottages that offered hot tub, toys, bbqs, fire pits and kayaks etc to rent w/ life jackets. We were basically alone for the 4 nights, only saw one staff member on first day. Internet worked fine. They include a kierig w/ k-cups which was nice. I was wishing I'd brought paper plates as they just had 2 heavy ceramic plates but had most basic necessities for cooking and eating, even spices, paper towels, dish and hand soap plus toothbrushes. Overall it was pleasant stay, just tight quarters, a bit pricey and noisy bed.

Although there are many newer, more luxurious, and more amenity-rich properties in Sequim and Dungeness, the simple charm of this property and the kindness of the hosts (John and Karin) keep me coming back. Situated like sets of side-by-side duplexes, the guest rooms are cozy and super clean. There are televisions, free wi-fi, and full kitchens but no telephones. Each cottage has its own parking space and carport for your car and bicycles. There is a pasture behind the property where cows currently graze amid the backdrop of the Olympic mountains. The front of the property are panoramic views of incredible sunsets, the bay, the Dungeness Spit, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, British Columbia, the San Juan Islands, and on and on. There is a nice bbq on the property that's available for guests to share. At night, it's pitch black and dead silent. The beauty of this respite from urban assaults on the senses can take getting used to by folks who have forgotten how magical this type of stillness is. I love nighttime walks with flashlight looking for deer. Deer are everywhere, literally, day and night. John and Karin are excellent resources for places to go and things to do if you're new to the area. They're honest and discriminating and won't steer you to a place just because it's popularly touristy; if it's not good, they'll tell you so and give better recommendations. I love this place!

They have several units to choose from, but we chose the "Perch", which was the largest. It didn't disappoint! We didn't even use half the space! Currently, check-in is anytime after 2:00pm. We checked ourselves in and upon entering, found a spacious "home"! Divided by a set of stairs, there is a murphy bed (sleeps 2), bath & shower, dining area and full kitchen to the left. On the dining table was a lovely note addressed to us by the hosts Craig & Michelle, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a bowl of granola bars. Then, in the refrigerator, there was a nicely adjourned box nestled with yogurts, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a small bottle of Prosecco (for mimosas) and chocolate! We turned around and on the kitchen counter was a plate of local pastries! In the room on the other side of the stairs is another bedroom (sleeping 2-3), king bed, full bath and sitting area with coffee maker and coffee pods. Downstairs by the front door is a living room with TV, comfy couch & chair, wet bar, small fridge and washer/dryer! As everyone knows, with a home or business, there will always be times of repair and/or construction. Currently, the upper deck is being repaired, so we weren't able to take advantage of that. Instead, we took a long walk along the water, watched the eagles soar overhead, waved at people passing by and enjoyed the fresh sea air! Eating at local restaurants is always a plus and enjoying wine in the evenings watching the sun lower gently on the horizon out of sight made this trip, along with our fabulous hosts, Craig & Michelle, all worthwhile. Thank you for making our local getaway a special one!
