Terrible place and management are liars. There were bugs in my room and they admitted to my face that there were bugs but didn't know if they were bedbugs or not. They were supposed to call me next day to tell me but no one called. So I called next day after 7pm and the "manager Melissa" answered the phone but denied that there was bugs but then she said there was pest control in the room treating for "something" just not bedbugs. Different staff member informed me that they found more bugs then "Melissa" told me they didn't find any bugs. Then she called me back and told me these weren't bedbugs and asked me "what more do you want?" Ugh I was so frustrated what happened and requested general manager or the owner. Then she just refused to give them my number for them to contact me. All these bugs and not even a single apology. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY unless you enjoy staying with bugs and dealing with extremely rude staff. read more

There is absolutely nothing fancy or new about this place. If you want that, stay somewhere else. But if you want a decent, clean motel room with a fridge and microwave that's right on the water where you can hear the waves all day and night, stay here. Aladdin Motor Inn is an old hotel with lots of stairs (no elevators and no A/C) next to an industrial fish processing area. Not pretty. But we avoided looking in that direction and we were fine! LOL. We got a balcony room overlooking the ocean and it was perfect for a four-day getaway in Port Townsend. Worth the extra money to get the balcony and the view. So relaxing to gaze at the ocean, listen to the waves, and walk on the beach. Added bonus: there's a great bakery with a walk-up window right next door. You can get super fresh bread and pastries every day! read more

No complaints. Nice little motel a short walk from downtown. Room was very comfortable with am ocean view (no balcony in my particular room though). At $155 per night not so inexpensive but I guess that's the going rate for a Saturday during late Spring. Staff was fine. Just enough parking for the number of rooms on the property. No b'fast. Coffee machine, fridge and microwave in the room. Coffee in the lobby until late afternoon. No water in the lobby or elsewhere. Next time I visit P.T. I may try one of the other motels in the area but there really wasn't anything wrong with this place. You may want to request a second floor room though as the noise from people walking around above you could make sleep difficult. They have a nice little courtyard out back that's good for watching the sunset although it doesn't face due west. read more

One star is already too many. The people who run this establishment are dishonest and have no regard for their customers. They are so afraid of losing money that they don't hesitate to give your room to someone else before you arrive and then tell you that they weren't able to call you. That's what happened to my family. We had booked a room six months in advance for ourselves and our two young children through the hotel website. An hour before arriving in Port Townsend we received an email informing us that our booking had been cancelled. When we finally arrived at 9 pm after a long travelling journey (flight + driving), the lady at the front desk was unhelpful and unsympathetic. She told us she couldn't get reach of us by phone (our international phone number was perfectly correct on our booking details) so she gave our room to someone else. She left us to our own devices to find another hotel late in the evening so that our children could get a decent night's sleep. If you want to be treated properly and be sure of getting a room when you arrive, stay away from this hotel. read more

Beware, I booked reservations on hotels.com when I arrived I was told that in order to have a water view I had to pay more. Strange the hotel is on the water and 90% of the rooms are on the water. When I entered my room there was a sign in the which states "no smoking or a $300 fine for cleaning but the room reeked of smoke. The property was being painted in my four days stay there so I heard noise of electronically lift equipment most of the time in my room. I had workers outside my balcony walking around on at 800am making noise. I was woke up in the morning and ask to move my car in their parking lot because of the painting. It's a lot of inconvenience I would think there would be some understanding given the maintenance to the property and possible discount but I was told NO! Why not mitigate the customers inconvenience? Poor service results in a bad reviews. read more

We bought our own air freshener from nearby Safeway and that helped. The stuffed sitting chair was covered (for folks who let their dogs on furniture) but it had hair on it. Yuck. Sheet had a stain on it ... didn't feel clean, on the whole. read more

Good cheap motel right near the ocean. My favorite restaurant "pho filling" is literally across the street. Very nice inn keeper lady at desk. Of course you'll hear motorcyclists in the lot and smokers outside smoking and a industrial company next door making noise but I don't mind it at all I just wanted a place to stay and it was nice! read more

Was a little disappointed in our stay here. Room was very dusty and smelled musty. The bathtub would not fill up , the drain was broken, ice machine was broken, coffee pot looked like it hadn't been washed in months. I could have stayed at many other places that were cheaper, but thought this one was good for the price by the pictures, but boy were we disappointed. For $200.00 I am sure there are nicer places to stay and we will not be returning to the Aladdin. read more

Most uncomfortable bed I've slept on since college dorms. Rock hard and couldn't sleep for anything. Paper thin walls mean you hear your neighbors loud talking til 4am. Toilets can barely flush. Wifi was decent. View was awesome, took it from a 1 to 2 star. Front desk employees were good. Didn't utilize the TV, can't speak to it. But since a motel or hotel is primarily a sleeping location, since the bed was god awful and you can hear all your neighbors' conversations, can't rate higher than 2*. read more

Upon arrival it looked decent. Located away from the main drag, it is quiet. The front desk gal was very nice. My fiance purchased this room for my daughter and i for a girls weekend. They almost didnt allow us to stay, because the card holder was not on site. I explained that to her and she smiled. She checked us into our room no problem. Upon opeining the door, the smeel of clean hotel fills your nostrils. The sound of a barking dog fills the ears. I swear the desk lady said no pets. Maybe they live here? And it cannot be a service dog, they dont bark. This dog barked all. Night. Long. Aside from thin walls, hearing humans yelling at the dog to stop barking, i would stay here again. The view of the sound is beautiful. The beds are comfortable and they give you three pillows on each bed. They provide ample storage for your belongings. I got a bargain price for a room here! Last minute weekend getaway, priceline-d a room for only $45!! The name your price option is fantastic! The room was clean, but very outdated. It was conveniently located, walking distance (half mile) to the brewery we came to see! I must say I am kind of a hotel snob, because of the great deals I negotiate on Priceline... but when you have a dog in your family, you don't have the option of the swanky hotels. This place was great though, in the aspect of allowing dogs and NOT having weight restrictions! They only charged me $10 for pet rent! Thats a heck of a deal!! read more

No A/C. One window that did nothing to cool it down unless you open the door so everyone can see you in your BVD's. A fish place next door whose noisy freezer compressors ran all freakin' night long. A door that didn't fit so it slammed every time the wind blew to help keep us awake. "Free" internet that's almost as fast as AOL dial-up. Crappy thin & worn out bath towels. And all this greatness for only $150 bucks a night, plus the outrageous Washington taxes! This is a very clean and presentable two star motel with a 5 star location! And the people at the front desk were very nice. I had a second story room. The room was clean and well maintained. I had a balcony with a sliding door which I left open a little all night so I could listen to the crashing of the waves below my room... and I mean directly below my room... Awesome location. This motel is a great find. If they ever do an upgrade, we "normal" people wouldn't be able to afford it. The view is just that great. This is right on the water, and the upper rooms have decks right over the little beach. You can watch ships all day long. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room had a little fridge and microwave, and a counter to store food on. The room itself is dated and worn, but the water was hot, the shower more than adequate, and the views are insane. Insane! I am so incredibly disappointed by my experience with this business. Last January, I held five rooms for out of town wedding guests to stay in. The owner was polite and nice on the phone, apologetic that he was having computer issues but accommodating and kind as we worked through the reservation details. I was happy to have a more reasonable option for out-of-town wedding guests. I followed up in May to check on the reservation and received the confirmations he'd had trouble emailing in January. Flash forward to the morning of the wedding, when Hadik calls me to inform me that no one booked the rooms I'd put on hold, but I never cancelled them, so he's charged the credit card I put on file for 5 rooms at the Inn the previous night. I apologize, saying I must have gotten confused and forgotten to cancel the hold, but ask if we can talk on Monday since I was getting married in a few hours and didn't really want to think about the nearly $700 he'd just charged me for rooms no one used. Then, the following day, I find out that all five rooms had been rented by wedding guests!! In fact, four had been held by my mother-in-law, who'd even gone in and spoke with Hadik in person to arrange the reservation! When Hadik does not call me back on Monday as we discussed, I call him Tuesday to figure out why I've been erroneously charged and how I can get a refund for my $670. He proceeds to tell me my mother-in-law must have reserved the rooms under a different wedding party name (forgetting her own son's name?!), and that the other rooms were booked online which "is a completely different system." After I demand a refund, he tells me they're "building a case" with all the correspondence and he'll get back to me as to whether that's possible. A few days later, he emails that they'll refund the 4 rooms my mother-in-law reserved, but are unwilling to refund the cost for the room my friend had booked on-line. At this point, I'm so sick of talking to the manager that I've given up on the $133 he charged me for that room hold, though no where in the confirmation paperwork does it mention that online reservations cannot be tied to group room holds. To make it worse, I found out our friend's room was sweltering hot and had an awful smell the entire 3-nights they were there, so we were overcharged for accommodations that weren't even enjoyable!! There are so many places to stay in Port Townsend that offer competitive rates with dramatically better customer service. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time on this terrible business and their dingy rooms. read more

Better than expected. The place lacks curb appeal, but the room was clean and comfortable, and the view was amazing. Within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal, and the historic district of Port Townsend just a little further down the road. Lack of AC was a bit of a minus. Not sure the maid service was any good. A do-not-disturb tag was put on our door one day, and on the next the maid arrived very late in the afternoon as we were getting ready for dinner. A hook or towel rack would have been a nice addition to the bathroom, and would have avoided leaving wet towels lying around. read more

Definitely not a good hotel, big issue with the staff/management actually. I never really have a complaint with staff at hotels, as I rarely interact with them, but this hotel is very mis-managed. They messed up on my booking, and failed to correct it. Now I have to deal with a mischarge on my Visa and it's turning into a huge hassel. I've read several other similar complaints on other review sites; also discovered that the management at this hotel fakes good reviews on various sites (which community found out, flagged, and most have since been removed). I'd say it's a decent hotel, albiet a little dirty (grungy), and sorta cheap. But honestly, there's other hotels in town for the same price that are much nicer. And you book hotels with a reasonable sense that if there's a mistake, there shouldn't be an issue at all correcting it. NOT the case in this establishment, and dishonesty rates lower than poor room quality any day. Worst establishment I've stayed at - solely because they're dishonest, faking reviews, and ripping people off. Oh, and big selling point for this hotel is the "view" (which is very nice). However, almost every hotel in Port Townsend has a "view" (the entire city is on the beach side. So you can get the view from any hotel. read more

The owners of this establishment are illegally DISCRIMINATING against legal MMJ users in the state of WA. My husband and I are 100% legal in the state of WA, and at no time smoked anything in the room. I have a child, and ended up getting sick for 24 hours due to a stomach bug from their bad continental breakfast's milk - so the idea of even smoking in our room is insane on so many levels. We were there last week, and we were just charged an additional 200 dollars because our room smelled. We didn't even light anything within 200 feet of the hotel, and when we asked the lady what the specific "no smoking" policy in the rooms pertained to when it came to a specific smell within a room and not physical "smoking in the room" she couldn't answer and hung up on my husband. I now will be spending hours charging back these charges (because there is nothing in their paperwork about it and legally we are protected), and they have lost a long term business contract that my husbands business had with them. It's a bummer for them. Avoid this place like the plague, because it will give you it (literally) and then charge you out the butt for things you didn't even do! read more

The location was awesome. Right on the water, near a marina. Local diner food two doors down, great beer two doors down in the other direction. A nice waterfront walking trail just past the boatyard. Not in the heart of downtown, but I didn't care about that. The room was sufficiently updated and decorated, no complaints there. We were on the ground floor near the middle. Service was very friendly and fast. So why a mere two stars from this typically generous reviewer? The thin floors and walls, that's why. As I lay awake late into the night (both nights) I could hear the footsteps of seemingly everyone in the hotel. I heard big heavy people, small light people, and everything in between. I heard thumps, creaks, squeaks, pitter patters, everything. I could hear some voices, but mainly it was the footsteps. Judging from the different patterns and weights, we were hearing people in several different rooms. The people were not especially stompy or rude, it's just that the floors were really that thin! I've stayed in a lot of hotels, but this one takes the cake for thin floors. And by the way, I brought a white noise machine and was running it on high, and still we had this problem. Maybe a room on the top floor would be different...not sure if I will chance it or not. read more

Budget hotel with a great view. This certainly wasn't our first choice (the name sounds terrible) but we were booking last minute for the 4th of July. When we got there the manager was extremely friendly and offered us an additional discount. Unfortunately, the only room available was a smoking unit which smelled like an ashtray. I knew that going in however as they clearly told me it was a smoking unit. I was just happy to get a room and don't hold this against them in any way. First thing I did was open the door to the back balcony and left if open for a few hours. By the time we got back that evening it wasn't too bad. Aside from that the room is a bit outdated and could use some TLC (i.e. wall mounted light fixture hanging down) but it was clean and the view was surprisingly good. Our room looked out over the entry to the marina and there was a nice little beach area right behind the hotel. All and all I would describe this as a pleasant surprise. There are clearly more trendy places to stay in Port Townsend and I wouldn't have been nearly as pleased if my room looked out over the parking lot but as it stands my only regret is that I didn't take advantage of the priceline deals referenced in other reviews. At a price point of $65 this would be a screaming deal. read more

At check-in we were kept waiting while young lady sat talking on the phone. We had only booked a room for 1 night and asked if we could stay for 2, she said that would be ok. Then the next day we received a call from the front desk saying housekeeping came in (we clearly had the Do Not Disturb sign hung on the door knob) and wanted to know why we didn't check out. We explained and they were ok with that but made us feel like it was a problem. The room was nice but you could see it had seen better days. The bed was comfortable (I have a hard time with hotel room beds and this one was good). Great location. Love being right on the water! Warning: They do NOT serve breakfast anymore!!! Older motor inn that looks a bit rough from the outside but is a great stay. Very clean, spacious, good location and right on the water. Front desk is old school and friendly with a bonus of free coffee throughout the day/evening. It's definitely not fancy and tells it's history with some wear and tear but overall if all you need is a clean room and a water view this is your place. read more

Never will we stay again. If you stay here lady's bring your own wash cloth to take off your makeup. We were charged 5$ extra for the stain on the cloth. We have never been charged for this. Other hotels supplies face wipes or brown wash clothes. So beware of how you wash yourself in this inn. And watch out for the bugs. Not a nice place to stay. Watch out for the housekeeper! The only room available was one for people with disabilities, so we took it because I actually have a disability, which I rarely talk about or use for discounts etc. Although we booked earlier, we arrived late on a popular weekend vacation day with no vacancies anywhere, so we had to stay overnight. We couldn't get the thermostat to work, so the room remained cold until by some miracle the heat started up after turning the knob about thirty times!The room was filthy--black mold and mildew in the bathroom, the microwave and the tiny refrigerator; big dark spots on the so-called carpet, which obviously hadn't been cleaned in years; even the extra blanket we were given was dirty and gray instead of its original yellow color; and a horrible stench upon entering the room. In the morning, we asked for a different room and/or that ours be cleaned. When I showed the housekeeper the black mold on the molding and mildew in the bathroom, at first, she refused to clean it saying it was just because the hotel was old. Then, I softly asked her to just try using the cleaner on it: the mess disappeared with some elbow grease and Clorox spray. Suddenly, she threw a fit, opened the room door screaming she didn't feel "safe" and ran out of the room.....and called the police!!! Unfortunately, the Port Townsend, Aladdin Motel experience ruined our chances of enjoying our short vacation. Also, we had to actually fight for our refund. We booked the room for two nights for a total of about $360.00 At first, the day manager lied and refused to admit that we had booked the room for two nights: she refused to give us a refund even for the one night we stayed at $180.00, so I asked for a refund for the two nights, since the whole situation had ruined our plans. Plus, the night manager with whom we had booked the room and could have verified our two night booking was never around.I discovered who the main manager was after about a week, I called that manager and said, we needed to know if we were going to get the refund, so we could know "how to proceed". After that, he said he was going to give us the refund, which he did in two installments of $92.12 to make it look as if he was refunding us for a two night booking. Afternote: We, of course, couldn't take the abuse at the Aladdin, so found a much cleaner wonderful place: Port Hadlock Motel---all smiles and the thickest clean towels in a sparkling clean bathroom in our comfortable clean room!!!Thank God for Cassie and her sweet heart at the Port Hadlock Motel! read more

I called the day-off our 2-night reservation to say that we may not come for the first night (huz worked late) but not to cancel our reservation because we would def be there the second night. So we show up the second day and low and behold OIR RESERVATION WAS CANCELED. I am livid. If they were so keen on canceling me, why not call and double check with me first? We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Aladdin Motor Inn. We just finished our two night stay. We only paid $65 per night for our room and we were very happy with our room. Out friendly hotel manager greeted us in the lobby and check-in was a breeze. Our room was clean, and we enjoyed having a good size refrigerator and a flat screen tv. The microwave was also a nice touch. Our bed was comfortable and we had clean and thick, fluffy towels in the bathroom. They also have a curved shower rod to make the shower more roomy. We were able to walk our dogs along the marina which is right next to the hotel. Downtown PT was just a short 3 min drive away. There was also a co-op market within walking distance from the hotel. What also wowed us was the guest laundromat which was on the first floor. It only cost us a dollar to run the washing machine and the dryer was free. Some improvements to consider: the shower curtain was not adequate to keep the water from splashing out onto the rest of the bathroom. Noise insulation between rooms could be better. All in all, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back. read more

Easy to find and close to town, we bought our room at hotels.com and paid about $125 for a double queen view room. Basic but clean and welcomed by a wonderful counter person who check us in and let us have the room very early. Parking is tight as we found out when we returned later I the evening and almost parked on the street. Pets allowed and made welcome. The only draw back was I found those tiny ants in the bathroom. I ignored them and never thought much about them until we were packing up to leave and found the dogs bone covered in them and the counter top where we had left our drinks also over ran with those ants. I wanted to mention this as we checked out but no one was available when we left so I just left the key on the counter. read more

We were so pleased with our experience at the Aladdin. It was right on the beach, and even had a little balcony where we could enjoy the lovely view. The room was clean and comfortable. The Motel is older but maintained well. Complete with a microwave, refrigerator, and a flat screen tv. The staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. It is a nice family place. A little noisy but that was because there were kids there. Everything was very quiet by 8 or so. We were also lucky to be able to watch a heron doing a little night fishing as we stood out on our balcony and enjoyed the evening. We would stay here again. read more

Loved the easy chair and the deck. Came with a small fridge and a microwave. Liked it so well we reserved for our anniversary for a couple nights in two weeks. Stayed here twice. First time on 2nd floor and can hear footsteps and people upstairs. Second time we stayed on 3rd floor and no issues. Staff is friendly. Great view and patio only only 2nd and 3rd floor. Tip : Bring your own pillows if you don't want a stiff neck in the morning. read more
