Horrible place and a complete rip-off. They don't post the prices with the produce like very other produce place in the world. Instead they put prices overhead on a hard to read board--and most of the prices are missing. When questioned about this fraudulent practice, A high school girl rolling her eyes rudel,y and calling herself "Madeline" said "that's they way we do things." That's why they have so few customers. Nobody in my neighborhood shops there. There is fresher organic produce at King Kullen up the road and they don't try to trick you about the prices. read more

The Green Thumb has by far the best selection of produce in the Hamptons. Most, if not all, of their produce is locally and organically grown. It's all seasonal, though (they aren't open for the majority of the year). They also stock some good dairy, Tate's cookies (like most smart businesses in the area), and a small selection of groceries. In addition, they supply some of the nicest restaurants in the area with salad mixes, etc (Robert's in Water Mill comes to mind). Strongly recommended. read more

What an amazing farm!!! 100 acres of certified organic and biodynamic soil feeds the beautiful produce that lines the shelves of this one of a kind farmstand. The ladies behind the counter are always gracious with their genuine smiles. Their seasonal produce is second to none. On any given morning during the height of season, you will see lots of private chefs shopping here. The best fed people in the Hamptons are eating Green Thumb produce. read more

Great selection of organic fruits and veggies and wonderful things like lavender, honey and even my favorite organic peanut butter cups. A treasure to find on my way from Manhattan to Sag Harbor. Fresh fruit and vegetable stand on the Montauk highway. Good place to stop by for some organic items. We stopped for the roasted corn as we heard it was delicious. The corn did not disappoint. They roast the corn up and then provide you with butter, cayenne seasoning, garlic powder, pink salt, pepper and you make it to your taste. It was very good and not expensive - $3. A little weird thing though - my friend had a worm in his corn and he took it back. It did not phase them so this may be a common thing. So perhaps look out for worms! read more

Green Thumb is fantastic - truly some of the best produce out East. I especially love their leaf greens and herbs, but it's all great. I go often, and have run into most of the area chefs and Ina Garten while there. Yes, it's more expensive but that's because it's farmer owned and operated - and has been organic for over 30 years, not agribusiness organic. And the Halseys have been out and farming in LI for generations, you can't get more locavore than Green Thumb. They've also expanded their selection of pre-made goods - bread, muffins etc. as well as pastas, grains, etc. I think they're open through either Christmas or the end of November and restart in the Spring. And I have always found them to be very nice people - will help bring your bags to the car, etc. Plus I like supporting a local business and keeping some of the fast disappearing fields from the developers! read more

Great local, organic farm stand selling much of their own products and some other fun stuff. Prices are a little high, but not surprising for the location or the quality. Definitely worth a stop. read more

Great place to stop off. I went by on my way home from Montauk and they have a great stock of fresh fruits/vegetables to choose from. I an ear of grilled corn for $3. You get to pick your own seasoning such as chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt and butter which you apply yourself to taste. Organic farm stands are not easy to find. I have been going to this one for years. Their produce is excellent, and they are right on the main road. I don't live anywhere near here, (about an hour's drive away) but I make the trip several times each summer and fall because it's worth it. There are many farm stands in the hamptons but I know this one is certified organic and has been for many many years. I do not like pesticides on my food, and I know here I am getting clean fruits and veges. read more
