I joined The Grindbody Shop three years ago. Over the three years I've lost 33-35 lbs. I've gone from a 168lbs wearing a size 8-10 to 133 lbs wearing a size 2-4. Before joining The Grindbody Shop, I'd follow one fad diet after the other. I thought I had to spend hours on the treadmill in order for lose weight. During my time at The Grindbody Shop I've learned to enjoy the process! I've run half marathons( I used to hate running), spartan races, and I lift heavy! Working out has truly become my therapy! Alex's classes will kick your butt. You will learn how to do a variety of exercises and she will properly teach you to lift weights to avoid injury. Very fun and comfortable environment with a small group of girls, definitely much less intimidating than a regular gym or even some other local boot camps I've been to. I have been training with Alex since April! She is such a motivation! Every class she pushes and reminds us that our goals start within ourselves which I love cuz she is right! Alex definitely changed my mom's life in so many ways and I'm so thankful for that. Alex is the type of trainer that will NOT let you quit, and that show how much she cares. That's the kind of trainer I want working with my mom. Unfortunately, my mom had to stop working out for a while because she had surgery, but, Alex still reaches out to my mom regularly checking on her and expressing her excitement for when she returns. It's been a year since I started at The Grind Bodyshop and it's been truly life changing. I have had a total body transformation under Alex's guidance. When I started at I couldn't even run a half mile without stopping, and in October I ran my first half marathon! I was told about The Grind and Alex by a friend who had been going to her for a few years. I was completely scared out of my mind and super nervous thinking I would be judged since I had gained so much weight and my self esteem was shot, but from the first bootcamp experience Alex has been great! She's super informative, won't let you quit or say you can't do it! She has full faith in your abilities and won't let you settle! Believe me I became really emotional and said I was going to quit a couple times in the beginning and Alex talked to me and made me feel like I could do this and I'm there for a reason and she was so right. What can I say that hasn't already been said about Alex and The Grind Bodyshop?... For a few months I would get on Yelp and look at the reviews all the girls would leave and then see the amazing results pics that are on here. I thought first off, they have to be in that gym 5 days a week to get awesome results like that... well I found out I was wrong, Alex is so knowledgeable and experienced in this field that these ladies are doing half of the time I thought and the results are AMAZING. I've seen these ladies in my classes and I'll tell you now, the results that are posted are the real deal! Secondly, I was nervous to sign up because I wasn't sure if I could "hang" with these ladies.. and again I was wrong, yes you may struggle, you may want to give up, you may finish your run last but Alex will push you to your full potential and you will surprise yourself at what you can accomplish. Lastly, these classes are addicting, sounds funny but it's so true! I actually enjoy her classes, once you learn the correct formation of the workouts you have been doing incorrect all these years, you actually wanna go to class and work those muscles out. I leave her gym feeling like a better person, inside and out. Absolutely love the The Grind Bodyshop! It's almost addicting now I started in July and decided October to add the powerlifting class and nutrition class two my regular workouts with Alex. I've realized with the hard workouts with Alex my nutrition needed to be on point to start dropping some pounds and not only just pounds... I'm totally seeing the inches and toning. The food, recipes and tips from Alex was amazing and I was very satisfied with the nutritional program and results. Hint hint you still get to have burritos, pizza etc... but healthier version of course I plan to continue to incorporate the nutrition I learned until I meet my goal and fingers crossed compete in my first powerlifting. Alex is great! She pushes you to your limit and makes sure you have correct exercise form. She gives you advice when you need it and tells you how to workout at home to better yourself from an injury. I've been with her since April 2017 and I already see results. I love that her workouts combined different types of workouts (crossfit, circuit training, HIIT training etc...). I joined the Grind Bodyshop after I saw that my cousin lost 25 pounds with Alex's guidance. I didn't know what to except but I was excited to start making some chances in my life. I have been struggling with weight lose for two years now I just didn't have motivation. After a month with Alex at the Grind Bodyshop my motivation and confidence is back! Alex never has the same work out, the other girls in the class are so encouraging, and the phrase "I can't" is not accepted. I haven't ran in over a year and within the first month I have completed 6 miles. I even got over my fear of jumping on the jump blocks.
