I hired this company The Ground Guys of Monroe, Mi back in June of 2017, I had them to my home 3 times. The first cut they did (were a "boss" was present on site with cutting crew) they did a good job I paid in full $60.00 cash. The second cutting was horrible, the grass was cut badly and they didn't weed eat at all, I called the office to complain and spoke with Amanda..I got a few excuses and was told they would be back out to fix it, I then later was told I wasn't on the schedule due to a scheduling conflict, and that my service would be discounted $15.00 The next week they showed up for a full service cutting only again to do a incomplete cut and not weed eat. I again called to complain and once again spoke with Amanda who then put me on with a Jim. I was once again given excuses told the crews were new..etc, I was told the account would be deleted per Josh (I don't know who Josh is but was given his name) later I found out that Josh is really apparently a Jason (from a review I read stating he used different names with dissatisfied customers) I believed my account (for 2 cuttings) was going to be deleted and I owed nothing as that is what I was told, I told them I no longer would be using their services. A YEAR later I received a "Past Due Billing Invoice" for $605.00 even if my bill wasn't deleted I would only owe $40 x's 2 cuttings, minus a $15.00 discount (from first complaint) so that would total $65.00 but I wasn't supposed to have a bill at all. I immediately called, I got a messaging system, I left a message, did this several times with no return calls back. They were billing me for 7 service dates (which I did not receive) and they were charging me $25.00 late fee for every month for a year! Soon after I decided to do a BBB Complaint Case they responded to my complaint by stating the provided 7 service dates at my home, and provided those dates in their response, those dates differ from the dates on their past due billing invoice, and two of which are two days in a row for full cuts (who has their grass cut 2 days in a row ?) I've now received a letter from collections. I've turned all my documents that I've saved, along with the notes I made each and every time I spoke to Amanda over to my attorney and I'm going after them for over billing, as well as removal of collections, all the aggravations this has caused in what is almost 2 years now along with all legal fees, I would rather pay my attorney 5xs the amount they are trying to get then give this company another cent.,just on principle alone. They are EXTREMELY DISHONEST in their billing practices as well, as doing incomplete work. They are a sad excuse of a company. The only thing that makes me feel better is, I have a fantastic attorney that reassured me I will win this, and unfortunately the fact that I'm not the only one they have done this too. Upon getting info together I've come across other reviews about them billing for services that were never done, over billing, not returning phone calls and doing incomplete work. Seems to be the norm with them. BEWARE of this company at least the one in Monroe Mi !
I'm attaching a photo of their response to my BBB Complaint Case on because it sites the 7 service dates they claim they were at my home, and photos of the past due billing invoice to show their dates are different on both. It also states I never called which I did, and my notes of each call is written (scibbled on the invoices). read more
