You know what they say when something seems too good to be true?! Well, that's certainly the case with The Grounds Guys. We initially were over the moon with the work they did for us. We still love the design, but the lack of quality started to show through on some of the work. The drainage that they created backs up and creates more of a mess than it was to start with, the plastic edging they used has snapped in several places leaving a breach in the mulch to the gravel, and several of the plants they planted died. We contacted them, given that the work came with a guarantee, and were so, so disappointed in their response, or lack thereof. To get a response I had to google search to find the owner's email address. This did get a response, but never a resolution. They made excuses that they couldn't figure out where the edging was purchased and therefore couldn't replace it. When I pushed back they asked me to help compensate the replacement because it was expensive. Needless to say, they never stepped up to make things right. In fact, they just quit responding. In a nutshell, they are nonresponsive and don't stand behind the quality of their work. The guarantee that comes with the work is completely worthless. Consistently poor level of service from these guys. Their edging results in large clumps of dirt all over my yard and driveway, and they have destroyed my gutters and fence line with their weed eaters. They also intermittently leave my gate open after service (yet again, today) and my dog gets free. All about the money, zero response or communication from the leadership. read more

If you have a problem with this business you can wait until the cows come home and they will ignore you completely. In simply mowing my small lot five times they completely destroyed two of my newly planted shrubs. On the second occasion I was home and observed that the operator of the deck mower was untrained. Despite statements from them on both occasions that they would replace the destroyed shrubs it's now been two months. Nothing! Due to their ambiguous pricing methods I ended up paying twice the unit price quoted for each cut. I have a small lot, as stated earlier, but it doesn't change the fact I was over charged for the five mowings. read more

They are professional and responsive. They know how to take care of fescue grass, something most lawn care companies in this seem incapable of doing. I've only dealt with Spencer but I know I'm in good hands as long as he's managing my lawn care. read more

My neighborhood is forced to use community wide lawn services and weed and feed services. That said, our community has been with TGG for 2 years now and they are absolutely horrible! I have repeatedly reported weeds, bare spots, soil issues, damaged gates, damaged eves, gates being left open (and one of my dogs is blind!), unacceptable edging and weed eating, etc. This list is never ending, and they absolutely do not care. All of the neighborhood lawns are in this condition, if they are still using TGG. Those that have opted out of TGG services are STILL required to pay the quarterly lawn care dues for TGG services. Bonus for them is their lawns look amazing! We also use TGG for the common areas and they look just as awful. After all my rant, I would highly suggest buyer beware! Especially, if they are submitting a bid for your community wide lawn care. read more

They are too slow to follow through. We needed several things done and were never able to get a final quote.

These guys are amazing! Super responsive, very professional, never had to follow-up due to missing a lawn care service and everything is always perfect. Great part is they do everything and have a landscaper on staff so there is no need to call multiple people for different lawn jobs. read more

We have avoided lawn services for some time now. But, we decided to give The Grounds Guys a shot. And it has been amazing. They show up on time and do their job. We had the lawn cut and even though it hadn't rained for 3 days our lawn was still soggy (Hampton cove is a swamp...) the guys took care of our yard. They went the extra mile and weed-eated the whole yard... it was to wet to cut! We also get our yard sprayed by them and so far, so good. read more

We have been using these guys for several years, and they are always very responsive and do a good job. The last service they provided about a week ago was exceptional - the yard looks better than it usually does. The little things matter and the crew removed weeds in areas that really needed it and the whole view of the yard now is spectacular, because they did the extra work.
