Definitely as good as it gets, have never had better!! It's the hash browns, cooked with so much love and butter I've been craving them ever since we left! So good in fact that we ate there two mornings in a row as we passed through! Wish we could have stayed longer to try some other menu items but those hash browns and chicken fried steak took all my attention!! First off, they are busy!! The tables and counter are usually full with a couple few folks waiting. I'm sure they get even busier but both time we were there, they were full to the rim! Service is excellent, rushed because they're so busy but still very attentive and kind. Our food came out hot and fresh, no sitting in windows at this cafe, they get the food out as soon as it's done! Looks like a giant family affair with grandma cooking the soups and desserts and everyone else gathered around! The soups are absolutely delicious, I had to get some to go it was that good! The food is good here and they do have Log Cabin syrup on the tables that does not contain high fructose corn syrup which I was very happy to see, but I saw the them re-filling a bottle with cheap garbage grade high fructose corn syrup. It is a shame and it is deceptive. Why would you do that ? Greed is a terrible thing. read more

So....if you have not read my review of Country Kitchen read it first, then go to the Country Rose Cafe. This place is where we came after a horrific experience at Country Kitchen. Country Rose Cafe was small, quaint, tastefully decorated with a warm, homey vibe. The staff was friendly and efficient. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is clean, there are a few booths and a pretty neat bar you can also sit at in the center. The food was excellent! I had the #3, Country Skillet. It was delicious! Hash browns, egg, cheese, ham, gravy, and more. Yum. My husband ordered eggs, sausage and bacon. Both meals were very good. Service was excellent. They have GIANT caramel and cinnamon rolls. We got some to go so we could share (they were that big). They were AMAZING! We highly recommend Country Rose Cafe! read more

We are traveling through the ND to get to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and was looking for a place to stop for breakfast. We found a gem at the Country Rose Cafe. The atmosphere is super quaint- funny printed signs all over the place that made us laugh as we waited to order. Based on reviews we knew we needed to order the rolls- a cinnamon roll and a caramel roll. They were huge and so delicious! Needed to scoop up the extra sauce on the caramel roll couldn't leave that behind. We ordered oatmeal with raisins, eggs and hash browns, Country Scramble, OBrien hash browns. Portions were huge. A sample of the cabbage soup was shared with us and everyone tried it. It was unexpectedly good...who knew cabbage could be so tasty. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The burger and BLT also ordered were simple and hot. Nothing too fancy and nothing to rave about but I would stop again for the hospitality and quick lunch. The restroom was clean and easy to access. We were staying in Dickinson ND to visit the Theodore Roosevelt NP and this is definitely a local gem! The caramel rolls are to DIE for, if you come here you definitely have to get it. This place serves pretty standard American Breakfast fare, and the food is of good quality and really fairly priced (our total bill was around $20 with breakfast, a caramel roll, and coffee/OJ). What really sets this place apart is the decor and the friendliness of the people who frequent it. Most of the staff including the owner come out and chat with the diners, and many know each other on a first name basis. We struck up a conversation with the table sitting next to us, and they were incredibly kind and even paid for our meal! The owner was really funny and you could tell that this place is a staple of this area. If you're visiting from out of town, this is a great place to start your trip and get a welcome to North Dakota. read more
