Bring some earplugs and eyegear whether it's your everyday glasses or some eye protection, as you don't want to suffer temporary deafness or get anything in your eyes. Fun fact, due to the range being rural, you will see some wildlife, whether on the path to the range, or on the range itself. No you can't shoot the wildlife!

Buyer beware! I had a five night stay booked at this property in one of the townhomes. When I…read morearrived, I immediately realized that the home was not as clean as it should have been. The furniture was grossly stained, the bed in the master bedroom was so rickety that even a small amount of pressure caused the whole thing to sway, Lightbulbs were blinking in the master bathroom, and dead bugs were on the floor. I immediately called their guest services number and spoke with a gentleman who was actually quite helpful and compassionate about the situation. I sent them the same photos. I have posted below, and they agreed that the property should not have been in that condition. They offered to show me a Condo which was smaller as an alternative. When we toured it prior to deciding if we would stay or not, we saw the same issues with gross stains on the furniture, and gooey smudges on the wall. We refuse to accept that as an alternative, as it was not at all an improvement. Their final attempt at providing a solution was at a newer property, which was nice in terms of its condition, but it was farther away from where we needed to stay making the drive inconvenient for us. It was also a two bedroom apartment when we had five people and two dogs on our booking. Because I booked through hotels.com, the property refused to work with me directly on the issues and told me it had to go through the booking agent. I requested a refund through hotels.com on Sunday, and it was not until Thursday that the property even bothered to reply and offered a 25% refund for a trip that I never even took. Their customer service agents are like gatekeepers and refused to allow you to speak to upper management. They only divert you back to hotels.com, which I understand from a policy perspective, but from a customer service perspective, it leaves much to be desired. I believe that because they offered me options, none of which were good ones, they believe they did not need to provide me with a refund. Just know that if you choose to book here, that if something goes wrong, you will likely not be compensated. We did not stay a single night and left within hours of checking in. They still believe a refund was not needed. Find anywhere else to stay but here.

Now it's like an ultra corporate military boot camp; no longer fun & relaxing. Were stalked by the phone militant towel gal. It's as if you committed a crime texting your boss. Some of us are working while there; we're working 'On Call' & are "required" to check our messages. It's 2026: people must WORK! It's boot camp chastising by one female lacking people skills; always acts stressed/annoyed; like she doesn't like her job & can't wait to go home. Please remove her from weekend shifts. She wants to rush us out of there. Many members notice this. Have none of the Managers or Supervisor's noticed how she talks to members in locker rooms? It's as if we are an imposition to her rolling her towel cart around. The other gal Claudia, with short dark hair & glasses is awesome. We resent being babysat. Were accomplished adults & it's an invasion of privacy. I don't need to be asked if I'm done with my towel! When done, I put it in the cart! She needs to leave members alone please. . We do not want to be micro-managed by this one towel gal. It's too aggressive & controlling.

Visiting the area while escaping the Frozen North, I brought my shooting gear in case I found a friendly range to shoot at. I called a local gun shop yesterday, and they highly recommended Gun Site. I called Steve this morning, and received the nicest welcome possible to his shop. Upon my arrival, he set me up with ammo and targets. During my session, my XS Big Dot front sight separated from the slide!! Steve, hearing the range go quiet, stepped back to check on me. I had just located my front sight on the floor, and Steve invited me back up front to reinstall it using his front sight wrench and locktite. He also loaned me some dummy rounds for my my practice. Steve asks that you shoot ammo purchased at his shop. But he keeps it priced the same as Wal-Mart. So there you have it: Friendly shop, reasonably priced, great owner - Steve is easy-going, helpful, generous, and very kind. If I lived here, I'd spend all of my time at Gun Site. Yelp should allow negative stars for this business, if you are going to buy a weapon do NOT BUY IT HERE. The owner of the business, Steve, is sadly the only employee of this business so there is not avoiding having to deal with this over-opinionated awkward little person. If you plan to spend $2700 somewhere and want it made as difficult and rude as possible this is definitely the right place. The owner is the kind of person that one can tell never learned how to properly interact with people and I can only wonder how people keep mistaking this social retardation for "gun shop owner quirkiness," no, he is a judgmental difficult little person that cannot handle a business properly. For those looking for a great indoor shooting range on Merritt Island, look no further than the Gun Site. The owner Steve Kennedy is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. The Gun Site is much more than a shooting range. Steve has a wide selection of firearms, ammunition and accesories for purchase. Steve also has a great variety of firearms to rent and shoot immediately. One recommendation I make to my friends who are considering a firearm for purchase is to first go to the Gun Site and shoot various rentals before deciding on what to purchase. Steve's prices for using the range and the cost of his firearms is very low. Steve is a very honest guy who gives great advice on firearm purchases. Went into the gunsite range today to shoot and was greeted by a guy not sure who he was but he was a smartass. Asked him if we had to shoot there ammo and the answer was yes. I guess this prevents people from bringing there own ammo so they can make some more money. He promptly told us we could go down the road and shoot at another range and he said goodbye. What a rude bastard not sure how this place is still in business with attitudes like that. Will never go into this place again! If your thinking about going there DON'T. I am also one of the group that came in, and I have never met such a rude ignorant SOB. Great place to have available to shoot. Informal is the way I would describe it.Shoot at your own pace with no one breathing down your neck. Other reviewers noted there was no range officer to help...if you want or need help their web page info informs you they will make a special appointment even after hours to work with you. Their ammo prices are good and do you really want to shoot next to someone who has reloaded ammo by who knows who? Great selection of handguns to try out for minimal cost. If you don't have a good time shooting here I would say go get yourself some land to shoot on cause you aren't going to be happy any other way. read more

Great place!. I started going there since 2003 with my friend Geno. Steve has a decent collection of rental guns. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable. His ammo price is very reasonable. You cannot shot rifles there (I think you can shoot 22lr) I stopped going gun ranges since 2006 due to my job schedule, baby sitting problems etc.. Recently I visited Gun Site again, Even though Steve didn't recognize me, he still had the same good attitude, friendliness.. The range look old, but I don't care about it. This place was perfect for that. Paid $24 each for 9 holes and a cart. We paid $15 to rent clubs since we didn't bring our own clubs. We didn't bring golf balls so we bought 2 dozen gently used balls. The staff was friendly and helpful but the course (especially the greens) was in rough shape. I'd go again when looking for an inexpensive "getaway"!
