The Halal Zone is one my absolute favorite lunch spots during the work week. My coworkers and I come here allllll the time because of how friendly they are and the amazing food. They recently redesigned their seating area which makes more space for indoor dining. They even have a nice wall where you can take some photos. I was so hungry I couldn't wait to start digging in but their combo platters and pita wraps are absolutely delicious. I always have left overs with the platters because of the portion size. While we were eating the super kind lady who works there brought us some cheesecake dessert samples or the Oreo and biscoff cheesecakes. Stopped here for a quick lunch on way to Newark airport. Decent clean seating area, generous portions and reasonable prices. We got the platters, and they had good amounts of protein on top of rice and some salad greens. The chicken was quite nice; the lamb rather average. I liked that they don't douse with sauce; the chicken is flavorful in its own right, but you can get extra sauce for 50 cents. The red zone wasn't too spicy, but man, it was good. It made me want to order another platter, but this time actually go in person to order it, as I found out they sell drinks that seem to go well with it. The pita bread was soft and came with two pieces, just like in the picture. I ordered falafel pita & fries. The falafel is plentiful and delicious. I requested the special sauce on the side because I wasn't sure if I'd like the flavor. Luckily, I enjoyed it a lot. It has familiar taste, some sort of mayo base, that I can't quite put my finger on. The only "downside" was that they crumble the falafel which can make it a bit messy to eat. The pita is warm and soft, but not toasted so it was still soft when I ate my leftovers. The fries are a miss. It tasted like frozen variety that becomes inedible once it cools. I tried to revive them in the microwave but still tasted like cardboard. The service was really good. We called to request utensils and the guy on the phone was so kind. Good food! The lamb is pretty good actually, however the chicken and shrimp were ok so I have a suggestion for the owners about the chicken and shrimp seasoning. Go to Kabab Paradise or Halal Guys. If you guys change the seasoning to be closer to how they make theirs, you guys would be golden!
