Our apartment was sparking clean and brand new when we moved in. We have had no issues so far. We love the dog park here and the dog bath station they have. We also love the access to the Monon trail, it is very close. We also have a pond view out of our window where we can see all the ducks and geese which is extremely nice. There hasn't been any loud noises or issues from anyone we have come across who lives here either. And if there are issues, we have a courtesy police officer who lives here to address any issues you may have that do not fall under the staff. 10/10 recommend moving here.

We were looking very…read moreearly since we didn't plan to move until February 2026, but they agreed to hold the apartment for us, which I really appreciated. The application and approval process went smoothly. However, on the day of move-in we noticed several small imperfections despite the unit being brand new and us being the first occupants. For example, some of the baseboards were already separating from the wall, there were cracks in the ceiling, and there was visible damage to the cabinets from where the handles were installed. Since we are renters and didn't want to make a big issue out of cosmetic things, we documented everything on our inventory sheet with the office. Unfortunately, our first night in the apartment we had packages delivered through Amazon, that were stolen. I notified the office immediately and was told they were in the process of installing security locks that would require carriers to deliver packages to the package room. The issue with the package room, however, is that packages are placed on open metal racks that anyone with an access code can access rather than in secure lockers. The service they use, Luxer One, has also been unreliable because I've had multiple packages delivered that I was never notified about. Since living here, one of my cars has also been broken into and someone attempted to break into my other car. Another concern is the amount of foot traffic in our building from people who do not appear to live here, which has made the building feel less secure at times. Additionally, when we moved in we signed a non-smoking addendum agreeing not to smoke on the property, yet our building has smelled strongly of marijuana on several occasions. We have been here for less than 45 days, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I understand the property is still new and working through some early growing pains, but some of these issues are concerning. On the positive side, Drake, Paige, and Regan in the office have all been very kind and helpful whenever we've interacted with them. I just hope management continues improving security and access control because the property itself has a lot of potential. I'm hopeful that as the community continues to develop, these concerns will be addressed so residents can fully enjoy what is otherwise a beautiful new property.

My daughter loved the pool and was very sad the day we gave back our keys . They were very helpful at the end of my stay knowing I was moving out and was doing it on my own . They were able to allow extra time since they had been very busy. Things were always fixed quickly and the staff was very helpful. I was very thankful, and the only complaint I had was I needed a downstairs apartment. Thanks for making my stay wonderful.

They sent me a email on Monday saying they were waiting to hear from me to make sure the information was right regarding the apartment. Well I did not see the email until Tuesday. There was no way I thought I would get a result that quick. Anyway I sent them a email on Tuesday saying that I was sorry but after going on self tour and actually climbing the steps to the third floor I decided it would not be good. I am going to be 64 in April. When you fill out a application you have to give a $250 administrative fee....and Guess what I DO NOT get any of it back. I was told by an employee that I had 48 hours to change my mind. Guess not. Am I angry? You bet I am. Shame on JC Hart. Shame on you.

The grounds are dirty there is garbage overflowing throughout the property . They want to penalize for dog waste but dog clean up bags are always empty , there areGeese/ duck droppings everywhere on property that no one addresses, which is very ironic considering the fines. I was promised my windows would be washed a year ago it was never done. My windows have a grimy film on the outside! I had water pressure issues for months without having hot water. Washer and dryer issues that were ultimately resolved after complaining for months and months. A dryer that would take six hours for a simple bedsheet to dry. The company asking to pop in and asking pets be locked up for random inspections but then never showing , and ultimately never coming for maintenance issues that have been requested !!! These Maintenance issues, not being resolved at all , but closed out by management ultimately just being ignored. I never received a tv cable so I've had no basic cable though paying 90 a month ?!! I've requested the cable for months from Sterling but it's on "order " though there are cables everywhere in vacant apartments ?!!!! Increase in pricing for renewal and on the website seeing that anyone new could come in and rent for cheaper ". Elizabeth constantly emailing me asking when I would sign my new lease or they would keep increasing the pricing on my new lease : predatory ! If I hadn't been a loyal tenant paying religiously and having tenure here , I would get a much much better deal !!!! I never received a pool code or a card to get beer in the lobby (only some residents get the perks apparently) ... dirty premises throughout . Dirty elevators . The cleaning crew is subpar and don't clean properly . They spray the elevator and lobby with fabuloso and don't wipe anything down so it's slippery and hazardous. Ultimately I should have never renewed my lease. For the sake of convenience, I stayed here instead of seeking other options . It just seemed easier . Is it too much just to get what I paid for? And have these issues resolved? I don't think so. I don't think I need to lower my standards sterling needs to raise their bar. So far all I've witnessed is excuses , lack of accountability, lack of professionalism and care when it comes to residents satisfaction. We are the reason your property exists. Soon no one will want to reside here! I'm a working professional in charge of 12 stores and have 60 people working under me I would be ashamed if acted so recklessly with my reputation and represented my company in this fashion. Just moved from a Chicago luxury high rise right to VER, and this building has far exceeded my…read moreexpectations. My unit was perfect upon move in - I've been in almost a month with no repairs or maintenance requests needed. This has been our best apartment experience yet! They took care of all of the right details - wide and nice hallways, excellent counter top, paint, granite selections, bathroom selections, and so much more. It makes my apartment feel much homier - definitely my favorite unit I've ever had. We have a one bed that feels huge - including a desk area that is a game changer. There is so much storage, 3 closets, and a ton of cabinets. Location is awesome with proximity to the Monon, Kroger, and Carmel Arts + Design district. I easily walk to get groceries or coffee and it will be even better in the summer. This was great coming from Chicago where I walked everywhere - deff a great perk. The garage is underground and connected to the building which is much warmer than we are used to. Another huge perk is side of the building parking for unloaded groceries. The staff is awesome and on top of it. They are hiring more by the day. We considered many other complexes. Now that we are moved in, we are very glad we picked VER, especially after seeing other apartments in the area with crazy waitlists. Summer will be awesome with the pool and more done - we can't wait to enjoy it all!

I am not one to leave reviews, but I must warn others of what can happen if you agree to be on a…read morewaiting list. Here is the story of what happened to me: I was extremely excited to apply here. I went as far as applying without visiting the property, but the issue was that Woods of Castleton did not have the unit I wanted available for a mid-June move-in. I was told that if I wanted to apply, I had to be put on a waitlist for that unit (1 bed/1 bath with loft at 830SF). I started the application and noticed that there was no option to select the unit I wanted to apply for/ to be put on a waitlist for the unit I wanted. I called and spoke with Dakota. Dakota said to go ahead and apply since she knew that I wanted the unit I mentioned earlier. I placed false trust in Dakota, and it led to me applying to be put on a waitlist for a 2X1 unit under the assumption that it would get fixed by Dakota and I would receive an updated application that showed the unit that I wanted to be waitlisted for, but I never got it. It is unfortunate to say this, but it is all about money at Woods of Castleton. Woods of Castleton took the over $200 payment for the application fee and held my place in line. Woods of Castleton put that money in their pockets. As time went by, I noticed that I had not heard from Woods of Castleton. I began to worry about my place on the waitlist and whether it was corrected by Dakota. I ended up looking for other apartments in the area and found a much cheaper option that was in much better shape than the walk-thru that Woods of Castleton provides on their website. I spent another $200 to apply and hold my place at this new apartment complex. The time came to ask for my money back from Woods of Castleton, but it did not prove to be easy. It is easy for them to receive money, but difficult to give it back. When I called Woods of Castleton, I again spoke with Dakota. After some conversation, she understood that I wanted my money back. Dakota put me on a brief hold and came back offering me a different type of 1 bed/1 bath unit. When I declined the offer, she put me on hold again and said the only amount I could get refunded was $150. She then transferred me to her boss, Brie. After a cordial conversation with Brie, I noticed that she began to raise her voice. At that time, I let her talk as much as she wanted. After all, when someone feels cornered and has no argument, they begin to go in circles and raise their voice. It does not make the situation better to raise my voice at Brie and engage in child's play. I heard her the numerous times that she said that my application fee of $50 was non-refundable, but here was where her argument fell off. The contract does not mention, at any point, that being waitlisted for the wrong apartment (remember I said there was no option to select the unit I wanted?) was not refundable. Brie reached her breaking point and hung up on me after saying that I was going in circles. However, the person repeating the same words over and over despite different arguments thrown at them was Brie. Brie is unprofessional, careless, and is quick to anger. Please keep this in mind if you decide to apply and are lucky enough to speak to Brie. Woods of Castleton's application is generalized and not specific. Even if Woods of Castleton makes a mistake in forcing you to be waitlisted for the wrong unit, they will gladly keep any funds that they can in their pockets. I would like the remainder of the money I paid back, but Woods of Castleton is making it difficult. My goal in sharing my story is not to get back at them. Rather my goal is to caution others in the same position that I was in. You may be looking for your next home, but understand that if the person in charge (Brie), treats you with utter disrespect and lack of professionalism, you will be stuck paying for an apartment at a complex that cares more about retaining as much funds in their hands than caring for the people that live there. Please pay attention to how the staff treats you as a potential client, and understand that it will not get better once you are under contract. I understand that Woods of Castleton will reply to this review, and this next part is for Brie and her staff: Nothing you say will justify how you treated me. In a few years, I will forget what you said, but I will never forget how you made me feel. I hope you have a nice day, Brie and Dakota.
