    I have lived at The Harbours for almost 22 years. I have seen the best living and "the not so good" while living here. The past couple of years have been the worst. Many crimes (shootings, car thefts, vandalism of cars, stalkings) are being committed and little is being done to change that. While the staff informs the residents that things are being done about it, the crime keeps happening almost daily. Prior to 2021, I felt safe living here. Not so much now. The apartments are very outdated, many going back to 1988 and not much (if any) updates are being made inside the apt units. The amount of rent for moving in, now, is well over $1400 (2 bed, 1 bath in oldest units - much higher if you want their newest) with high security deposits, which people will never see again when they leave. Leave early from a lease and it will cost you over $3000. The 15-month leases are in effect, now. Mandatory Renter's Insurance. While it a good idea to have insurance, it is now forced. Also, it can be tricky to have your own outside renter's insurance. It can lead to being double charged for their insurance and yours. Consider carefully if you plan on moving here. As I stated earlier, I have lived here a long time. There are good reasons for the lengthy stay. Main reason is heat (gas)/water/trash, access to pools and gym are included with rent. They have resort like pools. Lighted carports, available. Pets allowed, but that can be good or bad. Landscaped outside areas are well cared for. Wildlife is abundant, however, the nuisance geese are pretty bad when their numbers are near 100 in one pond/lake. Maintenance was very, very good except for the past 2 years. Much longer wait time... up to 10 days most times. Decent snow removal both street and sidewalks. You can pay your rent online and/or autopay each month. Office staff, including management have been pretty nice, but lately they are unable to help with maintenance or the crime issues. The Harbours DO allow security cameras, but there are a few restrictions. No cameras in carports. You can have doorbell cameras on the older apartments, but they're not allowed on most apartments because of privacy concerns. Also, they can't be on the building walls or secured to the door with screws. While living here (in this day and age) does have many drawbacks, overall, I still think it is okay. However, if the crime continues like it has been, then I too, will be moving out, asap. When at home, you should feel safe knowing you, your family and your auto are secure. Lately, that isn't happening here at The Harbours. If they fix that and some other issues listed above, then this place will be a decent place to live once again.

    Still don't see the "damages" they claim

    RENTER BEWARE!! THIS PLACE SCAMMED ME OUT OF MY SECURITY DEPOSIT AND A TOTAL OF 800$ I rented here for a year and recently moved out at the end of March this year. I received notice in the mail that I was being charged over 800$ to replace damaged carpet through the entire apartment. I requested photos as I did NOT leave this place damaged in the slightest. The photos they produced showed no evidence of 800$ of damages. Photos provided below so that you can be the judge if you see 800$ worth of damage. Prior to moving in I read google reviews and thought people were over exaggerating well, I'm here to tell you that the negative google reviews are 100% true as I've experienced all of those. BUG/SPIDER INFESTED. I would see 5-7 HUGE BLACK spiders daily. I requested that a professional company come spray the apartment. They stated that per their policy they had to attempt two times to spray it themselves before they would pay the money to have it done professionally. After the first two sprays they ignored my third request altogether. Rent here if you don't mind losing money at move out and if you don't mind laying on your couch with TONS of spiders. I will continue sharing this on all social media outlets possible since I have been wronged and treated poorly. If you are a young, hard working professional like myself that wants a quiet, CLEAN and relaxing place then this is NOT it. I'd rather pay more in rent and have better treatment and living conditions like I do now. Not worth the cheap rent AT ALL.

    Second ceiling leak in 2 months. Just patched last time. No break in rent which would be nice for the inconvenience.

    Yes - we have a large maintenance staff that takes care of each of our apartment homes. They will clear a clogged shower and will fix it while you are away so that you don't need to wait around for a scheduled appointment.

It's very quiet, clean and welcoming. It's actually feels like a single-family one-story home. It's very spacious and the huge 2 car garage is a bonus! The appliances are much smaller than we'd like though. The main tub and master bedroom shower are ridiculously very small, however; we are learning to live with these downfalls. No community is 100% perfect of course, however; we are glad to call Redwood our home. We had an option to move elsewhere not too far from here, however, due to the open floor plan with cathedral ceilings we chose here and are glad we did. The monthly food trucks are very appreciated for those nights I don't cook dinner (which is very few). The office manager, "Lonnie" and his team are very professional, friendly and business oriented. I love the way this office is ran. I have been a customer service professional for over 30 years, so I, personally appreciate it when I see others providing the same level of good customer service to others, especially my husband and I. The maintenance guy is absolutely the best! He is friendly, prompt and attentive. The turnaround time is stellar (1 day or less)! This sets this community apart from others, the wait time for maintenance requests at our previous community was 3-4 days. Overall, we are super satisfied living here, and plan to call Redwood our home for a long time. It's a lot of things we will never compromise on when living somewhere, some being: comfort, convenience, and quietness, and this is exactly what we found at Redwood :).
