The Hardwood Guys installed floors in 80% of our house and refinished the rest. Aside from 3 dents from oil cans in our brand new floor, we were very happy with the end result. Even now, we think they did an outstanding job laying new hardwood and sanding. However, 1 year later the floors were showing a lot of wear after supposedly using 3 coats of Duraseal oil based polyurethane. 4 years later we now have to refinish our floors. In multiple areas the color has completely worn away and in some other areas it's peeling. I even reached out to Duraseal to find out if this lack of durability is expected. They told me that it's possible if they didn't apply enough layers, didn't give it enough time to dry between layers, or applied it too thin or thick. Since we were not living at the house when the work was done we couldn't monitor this. Since they were sloppy enough to dent our new floor with cans, they could've been sloppy applying Duraseal. The companies coming in to quote us to refinish our floors are flabbergasted at the amount of wear in such a short period of time. Every vendor said it looks like they didn't apply enough coats. I'm not sure what the actual reasoning is. Hardwood Guys had competitive pricing. However, it cost us more in the long run. Now, we have to pay a second time, deal with dust, VOCs, and smell, in addition to being displaced with a young child to redo the work that should've been done properly in the first place. read more

The Hardwood Guys just refinished 2 rooms in my 100-year-old house. The rooms had not been done in over 50 years so I wasn't expecting miracles. Well the finished rooms look brand new now ... the detail of the wood is beautiful. The entire process of dealing with this company was top notch professional from the initial home visit consultation to the actual job itself. The 2 workers sent to the house were so amazing: respectful, presentable, hardworking and very good at their job. They plastic covered everything and advised me how best to set the A/C and windows for maximum drying. They came several days in a row and were easy to deal with regarding scheduling. Lastly, their price was super! No wonder the Property Brothers like this company. I will definitely use them again for future projects. read more

We purchased flooring from Lumber liquidators, They used The Hardwood Guys to do the installation. First wally shows up to do the estimate which had over $3000 over-estimated materials plus about 2k+ in additional labor, this should tell you the unprofessional estimating capabilities of this company. Second is the floor looked good but after a year or so the floor was seperating and popping up in some areas, still to date a vacant apartment but do have dogs that run thru it to get outside to backyard. Lumber liquidators told me the installation was done incorrectly by these clowns when i showed them images and video. I told wally about this and thought he was going to try and fix but ignored me and never heard back from him. DO NOT EVER HIRE THESE GUYS, They are unprofessional and from what I heard from Danny, they do not even do the install themselves, they sub it to another installion company. They also have a branch in the georgia area. I am making a video for youtube to expose them. Lumber Liquidators did the right thing with a small store credit but the materials are discontinued so I can't have it fixed read more

What a wonderful experience working with Melanie and team at The Hardwood Guys. Not only were they able to flawlessly weave in oak floor in a section that was covered by the previous owners under plywood but they also sanded off layers of historic glue that lingered in small sections, seamlessly added new flooring to the kitchen and restored the floor to its former glory. The team was responsive and acted with urgency. I received 2 personal recommendations for the Hardwood Guys and cant wait to recommend them to to others. David had me order way too much material for the job. He did a laser measurement, but I had 4 boxes of vinyl flooring left over. That's almost $600 worth. They did a perfect job but cost way too much. read more

I thought we had developed a good relationship with Adam Kelly and the team at the Hardwood Guys, but once they had a he flooring in, which we put down so we could sell our condo, we started noticing the floor buckling and the transition strips moving. We called them in. TheY took their moisture meter, insisted that the concrete pad was wet and they would not repair the floating laminate until we had a general contractor come out and fix "the water problem". We had 2 contractors WITH MOISTURE METERS, and none rose above 7%. We'll NEVER USE THESE SHMUCKS AGAIN. read more

While they came to my house quickly for a quote, I never heard from them again. I reached out, with no response. Very unprofessional. The quote experience was great, the contractor that came out seemed knowledgeable and spoke as if the price was going to be appealing. As much as I would have like to use this company, the lack of professionalism has lead me to believe they cannot handle even the smallest project. Good luck if you use them. read more
